Outstanding HD TV, Amazing Ultra HD TV

This is my 6th HDTV purchased in the past twelve years. My first HDTV was a Sony, the last 5 have all been Samsung. The picture quality watching regular HD programs is outstanding. I expected this as all my Samsung TV's have a great HD picture. What takes this TV from outstanding to amazing is when you watch a Ultra HD program. Wow, you will be amazed! Currently, there are not that many Ultra HD programs available but the direction of the programming market is Ultra HD. I can't comment on the speakers because I have a surround sound system. The remote is easy to use and works well with the SMART TV options. TV set up was straight forward. I'm 100% satisfied with my decision to purchase this TV.

Quick shout out to Josh our salesman was great knew what he was talking about . I was skeptical at first after reading at the time not so many reviews bought this tv on sale before thanksgiving went to Best Buy on several occasions problem was for some reason this tv is not on the floor in nj anyway I was set on the 60 inch possibly would have bought the js8500 if it came in 60 but I am thrilled with the purchase my son set up the tv no stand issues in about 20 minutes the remote is easy to operate one person mentioned there remote was broken it wasn't they didn't realize there are little squares next to arrows you need to click on the next day we went back to purchase the sound bar maybe not so nessary but it definetly enhances the experience! Went online to calabrate simple and big difference takes a little time but you can play around and get fantastic results. So in the end great bang for the buck we are extremely satisfied that we picked this tv . When we went back for the sound bar they only had 1 of these tv s left sold 5 one day . Bottom line good purchase unless you have the big bucks for the LG OLEV!

Bright spots after a few years - so annoying

60 inch Samsung - Decent TV for the first 3 years. Then, all of the sudden I have these circular bright spots popping up on the screen - 3 of them now. Did some research and evidently this is quite common with Samsung TVs. Many state online that the spots are caused by lens falling off. Some say there are YouTube videos that show how to open the TV up and glue them back on, but I have not been that brave yet. Paid too much money for what I thought was a very good TV. Will not be buying Samsung again.

JS8000 60" is worth the upgrade from the JS7000.

We originally went to the BB at Park Meadows in Lonetree, CO to check out the Samsung JS7000 55", based on reviews of the item online. We currently own a Samsung 46" basic HD tv and love it. Our space would allow for nothing larger than a 60" screen. Chris also showed us the Sony 850C 55" which had a better picture as well as the 120Hz as opposed to the JS7000 with the 60Hz. We also wanted to keep our budget in the neighborhood of $1K. My husband was looking at the bigger screen, but I didn't want to compromise on picture quality. Chris reached the end of his shift and another salesman (Ryan) was assisting us. Seeing the way we were torn by our separate opinions, he showed us the Samsung JS8000 60" in the Magnolia section which gave us the bigger screen but with the same picture quality as the Sony 850C. The price was a bit more ($1499), but we both got what we wanted in a new tv. The JS8000 doesn't seem to have much in online reviews, but some have alluded to it being the same as the JS8500 series (but an exclusive in the 60" for Best Buy customers only). Didn't matter, we were sold! Took the item home and set it up ourselves in less than 30 minutes (and we are not tech folks at all). The picture - absolutely amazing, so crisp and the colors are so vivid! Even the sound coming through on our current Sony soundbar is better. We'll do more in making a few custom adjustments to the settings. Many thanks to the Best Buy guys Chris & Ryan - they know their stuff and got us the best tv to make us both happy!

I read a lot of reviews and research before getting this tv. i was in the market for a JU7100 samsung..but i was intrigued by the prospect of owning an SUHD for the lower pricepoint. However, i have also read some not so nice things about the JS 7000, which is an SUHD but have less features and other sacrifices that makes the price lower. So i went to my local store to try and see the tv in person, alas, they didn't have it up, which makes me worry even more of the picture quality, however, they were having a doorbuster special for $500 less than MSRP price, so i went with my gut and bought the tv. I put it in my bedroom, and so far,it hasnt disappoint yet, picture coming out of the box was not as i wanted or expected to be, i calibrated it per settings that i saw online, and once it's all done, picture quality was great..black was deep black, 4k upconvert was looking good, and the color was better compared to the ju6100 that i have in my living room...so far..i am a very satisfied customer

    I love this tv.

I love this tv. This is the second tv I have bought this year. My first was a LG and there is no comparison to this tv. My old tv's were 13-15 years old so there was a learning curve with the new technologies available. Best Buy delivered and did basic setup, but the remote for this tv was easier to use than the LG. The picture quality is great with clear vivid colors. When first unpacked it looked like it was 3D due to the picture quality. I was not used to such clarity. I love watching sports. The first football game I saw on this tv was the Army/Navy game and it was fantastic. The sound quality is the best stereo I have had on any tv. It does not require any additional sound unless you are an audiophile. By the way, everyone in the family loves this product. Therefore, it went in the family room. It has already increased family time!

    Absolutely amazing tv

First off... Best Buy made life so much easier with my whole tv buying process. Initially I ordered a 55 inch JS7000 directly from Samsung... Complete garbage. Customer experience was not so good with Samsung, however they do have good product so I won't hold that against them. So I returned that and found this JS8000 tv for 1600. I ordered it online and got it within the time frame and the delivery went very well. They have a good delivery service. The picture that that this thing delivers is very very good. When I had my JS7000 in a 55 inch (the one I returned) when the screen was black I noticed that it wasn't an even black and that there were some white spots and flashlight effects happening on the outer edges. Not with this TV. I'm very happy with this one and I highly recommend it. I've done plenty of my own research for quite some time before buying this tv. I've had it for about a month now and I have not one complaint. So if you're looking for a great tv with this size and price, go with this one

Out of the book this TV does not dazzle, but get the calibration right and it becomes amazing, really amazing. Stream some 4K action from Amazon or Netflix through the Smart Hub and it soars. For calibration, I had great success with these settings, even though they are for the JS7000, which is nearly identical except for the 240 motion rate in the more powerful JS8000: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/js7000/settings

    Awesome TV

This is my 2nd Samsung TV (previous model was a 40" LCD) and I couldn't be happier. I read the reviews saying that the board in this TV wasn't a true Samsung board. I was a little skeptical at first. I really didn't want a 55" and a 65" would be too big. So, I took a chance. WOW. The picture on this TV is GORGEOUS. I've had this TV up since Dec 30th and couldn't be happier. Very easy to setup and navigate through the Smart functions. I have this paired with a Samsung 6500 Upscaling Blu-ray player, Pioneer 4K pass through receiver and a Boston Acustic 5 speaker surround sound system. It definately gives you the theatre experience. My only negative experience in this process was after I had everything set-up, my Blu-ray wouldn't play movies. I took the player back to BB and spoke to a salesperson. The first question he asked was "how old is your receiver?" I had a Pioneer receiver that was about 4 years old. He told me I needed a current 4K pass through receiver. So, I bought another Pioneer receiver. These sales people need to ask what the TV is getting paired with & how old is the current equipment. I have no problem buying the right equipment, but tell me when I'm looking at buying a TV. I made several unnecessary trips to the store.

Didn't last 2 years until spots started showing up and 2 backlights malfunctioned. Was out of warranty. Just replaced it with an LG. Also replaced another Samsung (after 5 years) last week with a Sharp. Would rate 0 if I could.

    Unique model for Best Buy

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Hello All! 1st topic - Question: Why can't I find this TV anywhere else? Answer: This TV is an exclusive to Best Buy, which is not uncommon in the TV industry. Places like Costco also commission Samsung and others to make them one-off models using different parts or panels to make an exclusive product. 2nd Topic - Question: How is this TV different from other Samsung (specifically SUHD) models? Answer: Samsung, for this particular model, worked with a Chinese Manufacturer named AU Optronics to make the panels. Why does this matter?: Well, that's a loaded question, but the short answer is that in order to get the total price down for Costco, Best Buy, Sams club etc etc, they use a lower grade image panel from AU as opposed to their "A++" Grade panels that Samsung makes in South Korea for their 8500/9000/9500 series sets. The grades of Panels range from A++ down to C. AU panels are typically B/C panels which means they are prone to "hot spotting" and light bleed on the panel backlight. Light bleed and hot spotting are when you can see with your eyes white light leaking from the edges of the screen and from directly behind the screen, especially when you step off center, which makes the contrast level and color accuracy worse than the A grade panels. It makes black look blue/gray, makes red look pinkish. So, again, why does this matter?: Well it matters because you will be sacrificing image quality as compared to a true Samsung Panel in the 8500 series and higher SUHD models just to hit a lower price point. You would be better off buying a UN55JS8500 over this model to maintain the best possible picture and quality of life span overall. 3rd Topic - Question: How do I know what panels are from Samsung, and what Panels are NOT from Samsung? Answer: It varies. If a model is offered nationally at ALL retailers its a safe bet that the panel is made by Samsung. If the model you are looking at is NOT found outside of the store, it's a safe bet that it's a 3rd party quality panel made for them to meet a price point. The other way to tell would be to look at the back side of the panel and find the label with the model details. If the "VERSION NO." starts with "TH" or "TS" it's a Samsung panel! If it starts with anything else, it's NOT a Samsung panel! Now in closing, this does not mean that the TV is bad, but it DOES mean that their is a quality sacrifice over a true Samsung panel. And because that can vary based upon the grade of panel selected, they can look different from one to the next within the same series. Regards, Very informed consumer

    Great Buy for SUHD Model

Got this a couple of days ago. Did experience the same issue with the stand initially as already reported but was able to make some small adjustments that got it back to level. Set up was very easy and relatively quick. Connected to my wi-fi without any problems and later streamed from Netflix and Amazon Prime successfully. I did try a 4K stream from Amazon and it was incredible. The picture is fantastic so far. The smart remote works great once you get used to it. I was also considering the Samsung JU7100 and JS7000 but after reading reviews here and at other sites decided to take a chance on the JS8000 knowing that there may have been some trade-offs in this BB Exclusive model. When the price dropped from $1899 to $1399 the decision was an easy one. I'm very happy and would have given it 5 stars except for the stand issue which I resolved on my own.

You Get What You Pay For

I came to the Samsung 8000 series after buying an LG 7300. I had the LG for two weeks, aside from some flashlight effect at the top middle of the screen that became unbearable after awhile, the TV was fine. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing to get excited about either. I decided to at least get a replacement for the defective screen so I started looking around again and came upon the Samsung 8000 series. When I looked at the display model in the store, I thought the blacks looked so much richer and more true. I went home and changed some settings on the LG and tried to replicate what I saw on the Samsung. Couldn't do it....Long story, short...I returned the LG and bought the Samsung and couldn't be happier. I don't even think of the extra $600 I spent because this picture is so amazing! The difference is honestly day and night. Spend the extra and don't look back! The quality is well worth it. With the cost of these 4K TV's you don't want to be dissatisfied down the road. Pay now so you don't have to pay later.

Just got this Samsung js8000 today. So for I love it. Haven't learned how to work everything just yet, but the picture is great right out of the box. Got it from Best Buy for $1399. Not a bad price for this tv. In my opinion. The up scaling is really good. Unless you spend thousands more for a tv, I don't think you can find a better deal. Will post more after I learn how to use the smart remote. This tv was part of magnolia division.

I don't understand people giving this tv low reviews for stupid reasons. I bought this tv and it's great for the price. The magnolia sales rep told me it was a good deal . In order to get the best picture you need to get HD channels. Picture looks great . Now I am looking to buy Samsung sound bar. Ohh one more thing this tv weights more than other 60 inch tvs so stop saying it has cheap parts.
