Weird black shading on screen, ghosting image

tv purchase

NOT a quality product

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Item purchased on 8/6/21.(Manuf date: June 2021) First week in September we noticed the screen has started separating from the tv casing on the left side (light began noticeably "leaking" out of the left). Called Best Buy - and since it's not within 15 days (???) we cannot return. It's under Samsung manufacturer warranty. Samsung sent appliance service rep to house with a four hour window (12pm-4pm ), yet they showed up at 6:10pm. They were "approved" by Samsung to replace the screen and the "FX connectors". It seems that this is an ongoing issue for MOST of these sets . They are expected to return in a few weeks to replace the items. In the interim we are hoping the screen doesn't drop out onto someone walking past , especially a young child!

The television does not sync with remote after set

Then, a day later, the remote would not work at all even though it was being read by the TV. There's a light sensor located at the bottom center of the TV that does illuminate when pressing the On/OFF button of the remote. I switched out batteries with a set of new ones with no result. I also synced the TV to my Dish remote. Again, the sensor light was illuminating, but would not turn on or off. So the problem is the television itself. I have to turn the TV on and off using a power strip.

Missing essential parts- phone support no help

Drove 45 minutes each way only to discover at home that box was missing remote control and power cable. We had one hour to mount for Christmas present surprise and were without necessary parts. Phone support of zero help. Promised call from store manager within one hour…it has now been two days. Very disappointing. Can’t comment on picture or sound quality because I cannot turn it on….

Like my fire tv more

Also I used to stream Philo which is not available to stream on this smart tv. Over all picture and sound is is good.

Good product to buy.

Besides that, is enough and cover my expectations.

Don't be fooled by demos in the store

I brought the first one back because the colors were not as good as my 2009 Samsung plasma it replaced. Dark colors were not crisp and faces were washed out on the one I brought back. I was told at the store it was because it's the lowest quality Samsung TV. I went to look at other options. The next series higher was $200 more but on the display it looked the same as this one. I got this one, thinking maybe my first one just had issues. Nope. This is the same as the one I brought back. No matter what settings I use. The only thing that helps a little is to disable all of the energy saving stuff so the screen stays brighter, but the colors are still nothing like the 2009 plasma in the other room

Don't buy Samsung

Contacted Samsung for repair and my serial number was registered to someone else by mistake, so it took nearly 3 months just to get that resolved. Once I finally got a service visit scheduled, the technician for Samsung arrived with no parts for my TV. Since then, I've contacted Samsung more than 30 times via text, chat, and calls and still do not have any plan for resolution. My TV has now been broken for 4 months and I cannot get a warrantly resolution, I just keep getting told my ticket has been escalated and someone from a higher level will call me within 48 hours, which never happens.

We recommend you ensure your TV's Firmware is up to date. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update and easily update from there if needed.
It's also possible that your TV is in Retail Mode. To check this and ensure it is in Home Mode, go to Settings> General> System Manager> Usage Mode> Home Mode.

Thank you for purchasing the TU7000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try the different Picture Modes or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.
Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic
Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.
Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection
Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings>Support>Software Update.
You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Screen fell out and certain apps won’t work

It has been wall-mounted hung in the same place for the entire time without being bumped or hit. recently the screen started falling out. It’s outside of its one year warranty window so the only guidance from Best Buy and Samsung was to pay to have it repaired. Certain apps worked for a while and then quit working. Definitely would not recommend. Found multiple other comments about this issue with Samsung TVs. Would make me doubt buying a Samsung TV again at all.
