I thought by buying a 'smart' TV that I would be getting more features than with my previous Samsung flat screen TV - or at least as many. One feature that is missing is the ability to adjust the screen aspect ratio. Now I often have to watch black bars instead of full screen illumination. I almost returned the TV because of that, but the alternate models of the right size aren't available in top rated modern TVs. I was also very disappointed that Best Buy would not deliver this item although they do offer delivery on most other TVs. The live employees were helpful and friendly, but they were unable to override the purchasing computer that refused me delivery service (even though I would have been happy to pay extra).

It’s unfortunate to hear your purchase experience fell short of your expectations. We understand your frustration, and you may want to consider sharing feedback directly with Best Buy.
Black bars on the top and bottom of your screen can be caused by either a setting on your cable/satellite box or by the channel or movie you are watching. However, the TV can be adjusted to help minimize this.
By adjusting the aspect ratio, you will get the image to fill the screen. Go to Settings > General > Picture Size Settings > Picture Size
