Big Size, Cheap Price, Poor Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on sale at $999 and 65", but I'd recommend either spending more for a higher Samsung series or a different brand all together. I ended up getting the Vizio 70" and the picture quality is 100 times better.

Big screen but not the best picture quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a tv left over from the Black Friday sale. Good price but I can see why it was at that price. I have bought only Samsung in the past and this has the worst picture of them all.

TV was terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a old Samsung 2007 61" DLP TV now and just love it. Never adjusted it, but thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to a new LCD. Big mistake. When I turned on the new one I new I screwed up. Tried to adjust everything for two hours. Never could get faces natural. When I went back to best buy they said I had to spend a lease $3000 to get something comparable to that old Samsung I have. This was a entrée model for new buyers that don't know what a good TV looks like.

Poor quality. Not worth the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is terrible. This model also lacks any audio outputs, which means that it cannot be connected to a surround sound system. When I contacted Samsung about this product, I was told they knew about this problem and that was why this model was substantially discounted during the post-Thanksgiving sales. This model is not worth the price, no matter how much it is discounted. I would have selected zero stars if that option was available.

This TV is for keeps!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV on black Friday (today that is). I saw the price and the model and instantly made an online research on it whilst keeping one hand on my box. This set was the perfect match for me. I already have a 7.2 Surround system hooked up. Not less than 3 different devices with internet connectivity (Netflix, etc...) to all types of services/browsing on a wired home network. Needless to say I only needed one HDMI input for my system to plug into the set. I have (like I said) a 7.2 surround system with a receiver with plenty of HDMI inputs galore and plus. The sound comes from my system. A sound bar is a poor man's version of a home theater system. If you need a sound bar for your set, it means you're willing to sacrifice true quality surround sound. I don't! I don't need my TV set to be smart, for that I paid a lot of $$$ for other devices to do the job. I'm happy that most of the space in this TV set was employed in the true hardware a TV set needs to perform their real job: A Monitor! This TV set will not let you down! Picture is fantastic, as expected from Samsung (seems to be the rule nowadays). The clear motion rate will make you take a second look at the specs to verify that it's a native 120 Hz set. It really looks great compared to a true native 240 Hz set costing a good $ K $ above. I really want to meet the person buying a flat panel TV and expecting great sound from the tiny speakers!! Boy! 3D? Nope! But already tested all the flavors out there on 3D and that technology needs a good decade to deliver the goods as promised. This TV set is for people that already own a home theater system with HDMI extra inputs, nice surround speakers and the usual Blu-ray internet connected devices. This is the true monitor we all wanted and asked from TV manufacturers for years. A TV that does excellent being just that... A TV! If you own or plan to own all the need-to stuff I listed above, then this is the TV set that will fit like glove in your plans. Keep in mind that most of the extra features packed into TV sets nowadays happen to cause a good portion of TV failures on the circuit boards, due to overheating. This TV set will provide for a good time of use and last longer than others much more expensive. Imagine a hacker breaking into your home network, watching and recording all you do at home via your "smart" TV camera... They can record video and audio!!! I looooooooooove this "dumb" TV set!!! Yes! Finally a TV that's built to be a TV and nothing more, nothing less!

Good TV if you run your sound through a receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starters, the picture quality & size are a good value for the price & the on-board menus allow for quite a bit of picture adjustments to suit individual viewing needs. As it is not internet capable - be prepared to have to stream Netflix or Hulu through a separate device - I use AppleTV & my blu-ray player & the two pretty much cover any streaming service I am looking for. I, like others, was concerned about there being no audio output from the TV. I have always run my sound and switched my A/V sources through a separate receiver that accepts HDMI inputs - so getting the full 5.1 from DirecTV or 7.2 sound from my blu-ray player is not a problem for me. I just feel that less tech savvy buyers should be aware that they won't be able to plug into a sound bar or pump an "over the air" source out to a surround system. Additionally I could see where someone with a lot of components would not have enough inputs on the TV - a problem also solved by running everything through fully capable home theater receiver. I would say a good device for the money if all you need it to do is display the picture - if you need more features look to a higher end TV

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew this was a bare bones led tv going in, but i didnt mind cause i didnt need a smart tv this was all i needed. The picture quality on this tv is horrible, even with what samsung calls 240 motion plus rate, which is BS!!! Do not waste your time on Purchasing this TV...Get a Plasma cant go wrong with a plasma and the picture quality they are the best..

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible picture. Tried all the settings everyone recommended and my own adjustment but could not get it right. Returned it for a plasma and I am much happier. Even my wife hated this TV. She did not even want to watch it because it was so bad.

Perfect for simple uses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: Price - A 65" Samsung TV for $1000? Good luck beating that. Picture - I literally took this out of the box, set up my HDMI cables, turned it on and watched TV. Our HD channels and Blu-ray movies look amazing. The bad: HDMI ports - It's lacking. I would have loved to see 4 ports, but again for the price this isn't really a big deal for me. My boyfriend has an XboxOne, so we were able to get all of our HDMI items running by running the cable TV through the xboxone. No optical output - this is kind of odd. We have a sound bar and actually couldn't hook it up. Again, we got lucky because we just hooked up the sound bar to the xbox instead of directly to the tv. Seems like a bit of a hassle though. When it comes down to it, this TV is great and you honestly get what you pay for. It's not a 3D or Smart tv.. but I could careless about those two features. I have a 46" Samsung 3d smart tv, and have never touched the apps and I only used the 3d part when I first purchased it. This TV is great for someone who wants a great picture without all the extra tidbits that hardly get used anyway.

Excellent TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV online the day it came out on Black Friday excited by the price. I was then concerned as I saw some neutral / negative reviews online. In summary - what you have to understand about this TV is that Samsung is giving you the same 65" picture as the others (same picture quality) but with fewer features (notably HDMI inputs) to keep the price minimal. With that said - this TV is excellent if (a) you are only connecting two devices such as cable and Apple TV along with a Sound Bar or (b) you are connecting to a Home Theater receiver. The receiver will allow you to connect multiple (more than two) HDMI devices to the TV plus give you a great sound system. As far as the picture goes - absolutely no complaints here. Mind you - this is not a professional level Plasma - but I have watched several football games and movies with no issues. Picture is clear - and as with all LED TVs, you will want to play with the picture settings anyway. So if you are looking for a good 65" TV at a good price - knowing you should connect using a home theater receiver ($200-300 to start at Best Buy) then this is a great TV for the family.

unimpressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took it back. If you hook you computer there is no option for sound other than "Use PC Sound". No Sound output option for external speakers. If you want a TV with no options this is the TV for you.

Great for an LED TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still don't understand why some people are writing negative reviews about the picture quality. Out of the box the picture itself is great. YES if you watch fast motion pictures it seems something is off AT FIRST, just adjust the automotion settings (we put ours on clear, and put the jutter setting at about 7), and it cleared that problem right up. You probably will have to mess with a few of the adjustments to get everything right for you, but the COLOR is brilliant. My daughter loves to watch cartoons, and the brightness of the colors is really really great. The only complaint I might have is the sound, but if you are hooking up a home theater system to it, who cares. I'm no expert, but I am pretty sure you cannot hook up a soundbar to this since it doesn't have an optical out spot. I have no need for a smart TV and all those bells and whistles, I have an Xbox 360 that does all that for me anyway. My husband loves to play Call of Duty, and the picture and motion on it is great! You get what you pay for, if you want a $3000 TV, buy that. But for $1000 for a nice large LED TV that is JUST a TV, this is great! HD Channels show up perfect too, something I wasn't used to with my old plasma TV. If the sound quality were just a little better, I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Size and quality for the price can't be beat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the tv on thanksgiving around 10pm. I had it hung on my wall mount within an hour. I was disappointed to see there was no optical out, but it's my fault for not researching the product before buying it. Initially, the picture was jumpy and strange, it felt off and I didn't like it. However that was because of the "screen fit" setting. I switched to 16:9 and it looked great. Slight adjustments to the color/contrast due to the lighting in the room and it was perfect. Different lighting and colors may need different settings on the tv. For the price, you can't beat how good the tv looks. I use it for tv and movies, not so much gaming, so I can't comment on that. For those complaining about no optical out, feel free to spend an extra $400 to get a model that has it. It's not like they said it was included, but then didn't. For those complaining about the video quality, try changing off of screen fit. It makes it much better. Complaining about sound quality, it's a flat screen. They're not known for great sound. A cheap receiver supporting HDMI would solve the optical out and sound quality in one solution. I upgraded from a 47" Sony Bravia LCD and the quality is better to me. I have a cable box and ps3, but my hdmi is switched in my receiver, so I'm only using one of the two HDMI ports. I was shocked to find only two, but it wasn't a big deal for me. Being a holiday/football weekend I watched quite a bit from Thursday evening to Sunday night, streamed shows from the PS3 or tuned in to the HD verzion fios cable box. I didn't purchase the warranty when I bought it, but I'm debating going back for it.

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Samsung LCD 56in for about 7 years and never had one problem, back then it was one of the top of the line tv's of it's time. I bought this 65in Samsung yesterday and it is by far 10x better. The picture is excellent, the sound is adequate, If you like movie theatre sound buy a sound bar like I did..I did read a review that said if there is alot of movement like in football it gets a little fuzzy but just for a split second. If you do not want to spend alot of money on a large led tv this is a good buy for 999.99.OH if you using the stand the tv is a little wobbley on it so be careful setting it up,.oh and there is not alot of connections so if you have alot of stuff to hook up this tv might not be for you.

Perfect as a Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Will try to not be too wordy: This TV is perfect for someone who wants a large size, good price, and a device that shows video well (and isn't worried about much else). Specifics: TRUE - it only has 2 HDMI inputs, and it does not have a sound output -- but, if you're already using a receiver of some sort, then this is perfect since that's all you need / want form the TV anyways. And personally, I think the TV speakers are more than acceptable. TRUE - it doesn't have SmartTV features -- but are these really worth $500+ in extra price when an Xbox or PlayStation is way cheaper than that and much more capable? TRUE - the out-of-the-box video settings might leave a bad taste in your mouth when you see a high speed scene -- but the settings are very configurable; I was able to fall in love with the picture after a few small adjustments to the AutoMotion settings. Bottom line -- this is a 65" TV for under $1000, and it does the main job of a TV (showing video) beautifully. If you want a TV that does way more than just showing video, then keep shopping. But if you specifically want a TV where you're not paying for stuff you won't use, I would wager this is the best you're going to find in terms of size and quality versus price.

Great TV! Great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a great TV and dont want or need a Smart TV, this is it. I am coming from a panasonic 50 inch plasma because I just moved and my 50 inch looked small in my new TV room. I was very concerned because I did not see the TV live and was nervous it would not be up to my standards. But when I plugged the TV in to my Xfinity HD receiver I was happily releaved to see how beautiful the picture was. I also hooked up my Samsung sound bar (through the receiver not the TV) and was blown away by the overall experience. I don't understand why there are some negative reviews, maybe there is something wrong with there TVs or maybe they are just complainers in general but do not fear this TV is the best deal you can get for under $1000 and certainly does not look like a low cost TV. I personally don't need a Smart TV because I have both a Roku and a Chrome Cast. So it fits my needs just fine, only having 2 HDMI plugs doesn't bother me either. I don't mind occasionally having to unplug my cable box and then plug in my blueray. Less wires to look at ;-)
