    Perfect for my needs

First of all, some people here are giving a poor review due to missing features, which are clearly defined in the specifications, with the exception of the lack of audio out. I run my components through an Onkyo TX NR 515 surround sound receiver, so all I need is one HDMI input on a TV. The Onkyo receiver takes care of the audio through the HDMI cable, so the speakers on the TV are irrelevant. My Home Theater PC that I built myself provides more apps and online streaming capabilities than any "smart" TV on the market. Most people can buy a Blu-Ray player or PS3/PS4 or Xbox to do most of the apps in a smart TV, if you don't want to build a HTPC. It does Blu-ray 1080/24p, has tons of settings for video quality, 120 Hz clear view #which can be tweaked or completely disabled#. It also has a gamer mode, which turns off features that mess with input lag. The picture quality is good, and it's a big improvement over my 40" ProScan Best Buy special which I bought over 4 years ago. Anyway, great TV set that fits my needs perfectly.

    Great Monitor But Lacking Features

I have read a lot of reviews about this TV so I figured I'd chime in for those that are on the fence but know what they are doing. I am spoiled when it comes to my home theaters and computer systems. I usually buy high end stuff or at least decent mid ranged stuff depending on location. This is going to sound silly but I actually have 3 entertainment systems in my home. My main home theater consists of a Samsung 65" 240hz LED 3D TV which was almost $5000 when I bought it back in 2011. It has performed wonderfully for many movies nights with the kids and family as well as many gaming sessions. I have this system coupled with a Yamaha 7.1 surround sound receiver, the PS3, Wii, and a karaoke machine. The picture on this unit is fantastic right out of the box as would be expected. Now onto this TV or monitor if you will. I see some model numbers in the reviews that are different than this unit. I'm not sure if there is much difference but I did in fact buy the UN65FH6001 for my den to replace a 55" Toshiba LED #55SL417U. When compared to the Toshiba, this Samsung is 100% better in picture quality hands down. The Toshiba always had issues with back-light fluctuation, screen was brighter around the edges, and the colors were always off no matter how hard I tried to adjust it. I was surprised at how bulky this Samsung UN65FH6001 is compared to the others. I am not entirely certain as to why that is but it is much thicker sort of reminding me of an LCD but not as bad. That didn't stop me from putting it on the wall though and I'm glad I did. I wanted a larger screen for my Den for romantic movie nights by the fire with the love of my life. This TV is perfect for us. I have this TV coupled with another Yamaha 5.1 surround receiver along with a Samsung blue ray player and a Roku player to be able to stream Time Warner cable to this location, use Netflix, Amazon, and all of the other apps out there for the Roku player -which is way more than any smart TV anyway. This TV does lack many feature of other units so I strongly suggest you do some research before you buy something and then complain about what it lacks. Some of these reviews are unjustified when you could have saved yourself time by knowing what it is you're purchasing. As far as the picture goes this TV does require some adjustment but within 5 minutes I was up and running and the TV looks almost as good as my 65" 240hz LED. If you're looking for a decent monitor for your surround setup this Samsung will perform. If you're looking for a TV with all the bells and whistles I would suggest you spend more money. One last thing for those that intend to put it on the wall. The two HDMI inputs are on the back so you may need a HDMI Right Angle Adapter. I had to use a smaller cable than the thick one I wanted to use because of this but I was able to bend the cable at the connector to make it work. I ordered the right angle adapter and plan to go that route once it arrives. I hope this review finds you well. Happy Holidays my friends :)

Finally, a tv for those who just need a TV

For all those people complaining about the sound and the ports on the back well, It shouldn't come as a shock to you when you bring it home because it states what you are getting. I really don't understand some of these reviews. This is not an old model. This is a 2013 model copied from what was the 65Eh6000 model. They took parts that were in the warehouse and made these for the holidays from the remaining parts of the older models with some newer tweeks. This is why you cant find too much info about it. I get it I was also on the brink on this and other models. Now, about the TV it is a sole purpose to be a monitor for someone who has other sources on their toys to get info from the web, Netflix, hulu plus, etc, and have hdmi ports on there hub from their receiver. It can also be used for those that want more bang for there buck and don't need much. I don't need the gimmick 3d, or the smart tv. All this extra stuff puts a lot of stress on the usage of the tv and if you read reports on any brands more problems occur on tvs with all that vs. none of that. So, I am off my soap box due to reading some very unfair reviews not reviewing the product as a whole of what it is. This is an excellent TV that compliments my Xbox one, PS4 and my sony ES receiver with Infinity surround 7.1. The picture needs to be calibrated to your needs. There are some good ones listed below or go to tweaktv.com and use the UN60D6000 settings and you shall be amazed. I cant rate the sound on it because I am sure its mediocre like most tvs compared to surround sound. Pros: Picture is AMAZING for what the TV is rated for, very bright and crisp view even with my gaming. Price Slim design with a very nice frame that is not over powering the picture Works well at all angles of viewing Cons: the frame is a bit wobbly but it is designed to do well so don't let it scare you off. All in all I am very pleased with a TV that is a great monitor and works very well for me. Finally--just a pointer--Every Samsung that I ever owned I always turned off the Auto Motion Plus 240 and the 480 because it works great when needed but it can also add lag to your viewing on Netflix and hulu. This is the same for other brands too. Any question feel free to ask

    I Love It!

I had a 55 inch Samsung LCD that I loved. I decided to upgrade to this 65 inch. I am not disappointed! It's really great too. The picture is perfect as far as I can tell and I have a pretty good eye, I think. I set the picture mode to movie because it is so bright and I sit a bit close to it - about 9 ft away. I also prefer not to use the 240 hertz auto motion because it looks odd to me. With these settings it is perfect to my eye. At greater distance I would set the picture mode to normal or dynamic if necessary to increase brightness and sharpness. It is a no frills TV in the sense that it has only two HDMI inputs, one component, is not a smart TV, and has no internet connection as far as I can tell. These extras do not matter to me so I gave it five stars for the bright and clear picture. However, even though I refer to it as no frills it does have all the bells and whistles as far as menu controls for picture, sound, and other adjustments like my older Samsung. It also has antenna, USB, and Ex-link connections. The stand is sleek and solid and makes for a perfect package with the minimalist frame. I would highly recommend this TV. The cyber Monday price of $999 for a 65 inch Samsung LED was too much for me to resist. For me, Santa came early!

I purchased this TV on Thanksgiving day online because I wasn't interested in fighting Black Friday crowds for the 70" Vizio my husband and I had originally planned to buy. I received this TV today, December 3rd and immediately hooked it up on the mount to replace our 55" led LG smart TV. We had no use for a smart TV because we never used that feature on our LG and we have xbox for netflix. This TV was easy to mount and put up and easy to pilot through to set the coloring, resolution, etc... No, it doesn't have smart tv or an audio output... And yes, it only had two hdmi inputs; but for us this was adequate! The picture on this TV is excellent like all samsung products!! The volume through the TV is okay but we have a Bose surround sound. I am very happy with my purchase although initially after purchasing and reading the reviews I as very nervous about it.... After getting it and putting it on the wall I am very pleased!!

I have had a 120hz 55" Sony Bravia LEDTV for 3 years now. I paid well over $1500 for it as an open box item. Immortals looks amazing on it! I went to this TV for several reasons. 1) I have only use 2 of the 4 HDMI ports for the last 3 years, so I don't need more. If needed, my DVR has 2 HDMI inputs. 2) Size. I wanted a bigger screen. 3) Samsung is one of the best, if not the best selling HDTVs. I don't think you can find this good of quality of a TV for this price anywhere. The picture is about the same quality as the Sony Bravia, with Motion 240hz ON. This is great considering that the quality usually goes down a lot when you compare a 55" to a 65" TV. I used to buy and sell used TVs. This IS the best TV you will get for the price. If you want a 4k, you will NOT get it with this tv. If you want insane quality picture, but not 4k, you need a slightly smaller TV. The quality is equal to a $3,000 55" high end TV sold in 2010. BEST VALUE and I shopped everyone on black Friday.

You don't get a Yugo and complain it does not have power windows. Okay, maybe Yugo was not a good comparison. No Yugos can perform like this. In early 90's, Car and Driver (automotive) magazine did a special, 'Most bang for your buck'. It was to find the best performing car for the money. The winner was 5.0 Mustang LX . Nothing you don't need, everything you need to make a car go fast and light up the tires. (You all know where I'm going with this). It beat out pricier cars with luxury amenities, but the game was most bang for your buck, how fast can you cover the 1/4 mile. (plush leather interiors don't win that contest) Great TV, great picture, no frills Picture: Go to your local Best buy and see one hooked up, if you don't believe me. Go ahead, compare with the 'fully loaded' model and see how the picture holds up. It's right there with pricier models. Features: Doesn't have much. That's exactly what I wanted. I don't want million cables back of the TV going to Every Which Way but Loose. This TV is designed to be mated to a HDMI receiver, and a external source of signal, ie HD cable box. It's only got ONE HDMI port. (The other one is DVI-PC HDMI, your blu-ray player won't work on it) One HDMI, that's all I need to feed it to my Receiver. I have all the rest hooked up to the receiver, including cable, Wii, Xbox and wife's Magic Sing. For those who cry that it doesn't have optical audio out... check your cable box. If it's HD as it should be, it should have one 'optical out' port. again, since my cable box has one, I don't need this TV to have one. Not happy with the sound? I feed that optical line from cable box to the receiver, and my Denon receiver powers to my vintage Bose 601 Series II in the front, Bose 301 series II for the back, Polk Audio 12 inch sub and polk center channel speaker. Sounds better than IMAX. No internet? no problem. My blu-ray player has one, and I watch netflix and Amazon prime through my blue ray player with wifi. This TV has nothing I don't need, thus I didn't pay one penny more on a TV for stuff I don't need. If there's 'Bang for your buck' winner, this is it. Big screen, great picture, no frills, low cost.

Please read the description of the TV, once you know what is in there, you will get exactly what it is. Nothing fancy, just a good old great TV for an unbelievable price. If you paid $1000/= it is the right price. Great Picture Quality (same as the 7 series without the features) Amazing size (Other series costs at least $2,000 more) Reasonable audio (audio is same like any other expensive Samsung TV) Ability to connect to internet with the help of Chromecast/roku for $50 Light weight, mountable Looks good (except for the stand)

I bought this TV to replace an 8 year old 46" 720P DLP TV. The setup was quick and easy and the picture quality compared to the old TV is amazing. The picture is sharp and bright with excellent definition. I am very impressed with the picture quality so far. TV shows appear more like live television. High speed motion is very good even while watching sports such as hockey with only a small amount fuzziness a the fast moving puck thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. The sound quality from the built in speakers is poor but I'm sure is on par with all other thin LCD and plasma TV's. I have the digital audio signal from a separate smart TV device and DVD player going straight in to a home theater system to achieve quality sound. With this setup I don't miss the lack of audio output from the TV. Both HDMI inputs are occupied by the smart TV device and DVD player. Fortunately the smart TV device provides HDMI input and pass through from the HD cable box so I able to use all of my video devices. All in all, if any one is looking for a basic, large screen TV with a bright, vibrant picture and don't need more than 2 HDMI inputs and no audio output then this TV is for you.

I bought this TV on Saturday and got it mounted and connected that evening. So far I am liking the TV a lot(much better than the 46" it was replacing). To all the negative nancy's who complain about inputs and outputs guess what - YOU KNEW THAT INFO BEFORE BUYING SO QUIT COMPLAINING. Calibrating the picture is a must as the Standard/Movie (don't use Dynamic) are a bit off on color. If you don't like Soap Opera Effect stay away from Smooth motion processing(Clear seems to be the best option although I like Custom set to 7 for both options). Make sure to set the HDMI Darkness to DARKEST to get the best blacks. As for the startup ofthe TV, I'm thinking it's an issue with my set up (Uverse to Onkyo receiver to TV) and it can take 30 seconds or more for the picture to show up. Might need to play with my Logitech remote and set the TV to come on last and see if that helps. Now that I have some hours on the TV, I'll be doing a more in depth calibration to try and get the best picture possible.

Decent TV for the price AFTER calibrating

First of all, I appreciate a high quality TV screen but also like to save money. I don’t really care for smart features as they are usually half-baked into the TV and are quickly abandoned by the manufacturer when the next model comes out. A $50-100 Roku can add those features and is updated. Even Chromecast can do many of the same things for $30 to $35. As for connections, I don’t like to pass audio through the TV because even the best TV’s lose fidelity. I paid for a $5,000 smart tv years ago to find out the features were useless within less than a year and the audio pass-through dropped my Dolby Digital 5.1 signal down to 2.1. I would prefer using a quality amplifier with an integrate HDMI switch. Furthermore, 4K TV’s are right around the corner and soon all these HDTV’s will be obsolete. I think this TV is a good value at the $999 price for the size. If it were the normal price, I might be more tempted by much better Plasma TV’s that are 60” inches and near that price point or even a midlevel LED LCD TV. AT $999, I am saving $600 to $800 over a TV with a superior picture quality while also gaining 5” more noticeable inches in size. This TV is a big, basic, TV screen. The black levels are decent but nowhere near inky black. All the factory presents out of the box are horrible but with a small amount of tweaking it can be acceptable. The screen exhibits some minor backlight bleed around the edge but most would likely never notice it unless you are looking at a screen of nothing but black. There is also the very slightest loss of color during off angle viewing but not much. You won’t get the super deep blacks of a plasma TV or a even a local dimming LED LCD but what you get is a huge TV for a budget price. If you are the type of person who cannot live without the best TV picture this TV is probably not for you. Make no mistake, this is a budget TV. That said; if you are looking for a bigger screen, don’t care about smart features, have a amplifier with built in HDMI switch or are willing to buy a switch, can live with decent quality picture, want a big screen until 4K becomes more viable, and want to save money this can work for you. I am by no means a certified TV calibrator and the settings I provide are not 100% true but so far it is what I prefer based on running several different calibration tools and even using a PC and then tweaking from there. It seems to maximize the blacks without losing fidelity, provide vibrant colors without bleeding, show skin tones that are not washed out or extremely red, and prevent the picture from looking “cloudy”. I have tried it using several sources and it seems pretty balanced so far. I am not a huge sports fan so you might have to tweak the auto motion settings but I hope this helps someone else. So far these settings have made me happy enough with this TV to keep it and save spending another $600- $1000 extra until the new 4K TV’s have had some time to come down and price and mature. So keep your expectations in line with the price and size and you will be happy. Having read all the bad reviews, I was apprehensive to buy into this deal. But after having done enough research online, I decided to give it a shot. And am I glad I did! Yes the picture out of the box wasn't great, but you cannot expect that from any TV out there. Some amount of calibration is always expected, especially for LEDs and Plasmas. A little tweaking and I was blown away by the picture quality. There are a couple of forums that give you some decent calibration settings to get you started. Obviously, the same settings won't work for everyone. It will depend on the ambient light in your room, size of the room etc. Sports and Movies look great on this TV. I upgraded from my 2010 Panasonic 50 inch plasma to this TV and I was not sure if LED pq would match up with plasma. Having spent a couple of days with this TV, watching football, movies and playing COD:Ghosts, I have absolutely no complaints! I have not had any issues with clouding, vertical banding(which is common in large LEDs) etc. Most of the bad reviews seem to be targeting the lack of inputs, or lack of features. The TV specs clearly state what is expected, so I am not sure why people are surprised. This is a simple TV monitor, with great picture quality. Thats it. If thats all you are looking for, then you will not be disappointed!

This TV replaces a 9 year old Sony rear projection 720p LCD TV that always performed flawlessly. I wanted to upgrade and hang the TV on the wall. I see some reviews stating this TV lacks inputs, outputs and has picture issues. First off this is a "basic" LED TV that it provides a great picture, nothing else, sound is ok, not theater like but this should be expected since all flat screen TV's do not have space for quality speakers. It is not 3-D nor is it "smart". These are features I had no use for. I have a Sony blu ray player that connects on line and gives my You Tube and Netflixs, all I needed. I also added the Denon receiver that was on sale. The Denon allows for 5 HDMI inputs, add the extra one on the TV and you have 6 inputs, PLENTY!! The picture is a 9 on a scale of 1-10. I like to watch Hockey and it was bright and clear. Do you see a bit of blur occasionally? Yes. For the price and size it is a home run, blu rays and games look incredible too! For the comments about the picture being bad I suggest strongly making sure you have quality HDMI cables, it makes a difference as I tried a high quality vs the cables that came with my cable box, the difference in the picture was slight but noticeable on action scenes. Lastly the signal being supplied has a great effect on the TV too. I saw this when shopping. One TV looked fantastic in one store and was bad in another. If the TV looks great on a blu ray but bad on your cable/sat box you may want to inquire about upgrading your equipment. Since the TV can only process what it receives a bad or weak signal equals bad picture. Especially on a larger TV like this.

I got this tv in black friday as most of us did. I didn't installed until sunday and I was already expecting the worse due to all the reviewes I saw here so I was surprised when it turned out to be a great TV.Yes it only has 2 HDMI inputs which is fine since we have a receiver in our Home Theatre and a smart blu-ray do I have WiFi Access snd apps like Netflix covered (I will never connect to the internet wuth the tv the bluray snd the Xbox at the same time, right?).It is not great with the out of the box settings because those are set at the middle and every room and person is different so they have yo be adjust to each person's taste. And blacks do are blacks just choose "darker" in the settings and is done I had a Sharp quatron 3D before this tv and this one has better Quality image by far

Check the specs, and your needs, before buying

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you bought the TV without checking the specs and connectivity to make sure it had enough inputs/outputs to meet your needs, you should give YOURSELF a negative review, not the TV. If you aren't tech-savvy enough, and you relied on a Best Buy salesperson to help you choose this TV, the Best Buy associate is to blame, not the TV. Picture quality is good, especially when you consider the $999.99 Black Friday price. There is noticeable posterization on color gradients; it's more noticeable with more highly compressed sources, such as satellite or cable, than with higher bit-rate material such as Blu-ray. Of course, if you upgrade from a significantly smaller TV, flaws are going to be more noticeable on a 65" TV than a smaller one from the same viewing distance. Also, the picture settings do take some work to get the best picture quality, which is common with flat panels, especially LEDS, which tend to have the settings turned up, with oversaturated colors, contrast and brightness. Sound from the built-in speakers is lacking, which is common with flat panel TVs. Since I use a home theater receiver, I never use the built-in speakers on any of my TVs, so this isn't an issue. Also, as others have said, there are no audio outputs, so connecting a sound bar or other external audio output will require you to use the audio outputs on the source device to the sound bar, receiver, etc. In this case, you need to choose a sound bar or receiver that has enough inputs of the proper type to handle your source devices #Blu-ray or DVD player, cable or satellite box, game system, etc,# For $999.99, which the TV sold for during Black Friday, this TV is a good value for the price. I wouldn't recommend it for $1,499.99, or to someone who needs more video and/or audio inputs and outputs. As with any electronics purchase, the buyer needs to do his/her homework before buying, or enlist the help of someone who is knowledgeable, and not blame the piece of equipment if it doesn't meet his/her needs.

First, this is a fantastic monitor. If you have a receiver for your HDMI switching and watch TV with the sound through that receiver then this is the PERFECT TV for you. I use it with my Denon e300 receiver, all my HDMI inputs go into the receiver with one HDMI cable going to the TV. Minimal fuss and muss. The picture quality is truly incredible for a LCD TV, the blacks are very very good, almost as good as my Panasonic Plasma but its understandable that its not that good as LCD cannot show true black like a plasma can. I checked 3 bars for the sound quality but honestly I never used the internal speakers. I gave this 5 stars and would have given it 6 stars if I could have (on a 5 star scale) because the picture quality is just that good. Bottom line: Fantastic TV for the price.

So got this tv on Back Friday and got to say I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews. Glad I gave it a chance. I'm very picky about picture quality. After a few hours of frustration adjusting the picture settings I finally found an amazing picture. Sound is great but if you want that heart pumping theater sound you'll have to get some sort of sound system just like with any other tv on the market. I have had it a week now and I am totally satisfied. Watching football game I do not have any blurriness like other reviews posted. Perhaps they have their settings wrong. Here are mine to save you some time and frustration: mode: standard backlight: 14 contrast: 65 brightness: 48 sharpness: 60 color: 65 tint: g54/r46 advanced settings: color space :native dynamic contrast low black tone darkest flesh tone +2 motion lighting on picture options color tone standard size 16:9 auto motion plus to clear led motion plus off Enjoy!

I expected the picture quality to be exceptional because of the 32 LED that we already own, so all though my xbox one games look great I was a little disappointed with satellite picture quality. Two days later I went back to the store in order to compare the picture quality with other TV's that I was going to trade it in for, only to find that it looked just as good as anything else there at this size. If you're looking for 4K picture quality then the only solution is to buy a 4K TV. This TV may not be a smart TV but if you plan on hooking up an Apple TV, xbox 360, xbox one or PS3(I don't own a PS4)then that'll take care of that. This TV may only have two HDMI ports but I have an xbox one, blueray player, satellite receiver and stereo receiver all working with it. Everything is going into my stereo receiver with only one HDMI cable going out to the TV. If you already have or are considering a TV this large then your home theater system may have the extra HDMI ports you need.

For me, this tv is everything that I hoped for. As others have pointed out, yes it is a no frills model. I bought a 32" Smart Samsung for my bedroom a couple months ago. I was blown away by that picture, so I decided I wanted a Samsung for my basement. I found that the extra features of the smart tv are fun, but that I just didn't use them enough to justify the expense. I was actually looking for a 60" in this price range, but saw the black friday deal for 999 and decided to go for the bigger picture over the features. The picture on this set is the great picture many of us have come to expect from a Samsung tv. I am certainly pleased about that. It would be nice to be able to hook my soundbar up to this tv, but it honestly doesn't matter that much to me. The sound the tv puts out isn't that bad. I found that you do have to turn the volume up a little more, as it is kinda weak. Overall, as others have said, if you don't need all the fancy overpriced features and frills, this is probably a good buy for you. If you are someone who gets caught up in the latest and greatest, you should probably look at the higher end sets.
