Great picture for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many negative reviews on this TV, but most reviewers don't know exactly what they purchased. I only needed a TV with a great picture. I have a receiver that has HDMI switching, so the only thing I connect to my TV is an HDMI cable from the "monitor out" on the back of my receiver (this TV has 2 HDMI inputs). I also have an Apple TV, so I don't need all the features of a "smart TV." From what I learned, smart TV's can fail sooner because of all the extra gadgets and/or heat on the circuit boards. So I didn't want to shell out extra dollars for a smart TV if it might break sooner than a non-smart TV. I have a large living room and wanted a big TV with a great picture. I picked this one up for less than $1,000. Out of the box, the picture is not that good. After a quick google search, I was able to adjust the setting so the picture quality is very good. One thing to note is there is not an audio out on this TV so if you use an over the air antennae, you won't be able to hook this unit up to surround sound. This was a great purchase for the money. If you don't need all the bells and whistles on a TV (or if you can utilize those features on different components), you can't go wrong with this TV.

Great deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the 75" samsung in my living room and put this 65" in my game room as it fits perfectly in my built in console. For $999 you can't beat this tv for its size and picture quality. It only has 2 hdmi ports so you'll need a receiver if you have multiple components. My only complaint is the stand is a bit wobbly and not quite level despite my trying to adjust it. Also don't forget to calibrate it as you should all new hdtvs.

Great TV!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV for $999 when there were no reviews and then after a while people starting rating the TV giving it 1 star and 2 stars. I started getting nervous that I bought a bad TV. As I read through the reviews, the TV was receiving 1 star reviews because people were getting bad customer service from BestBuy or because it didn't have an audio port. Its not the product's fault people don't what they are buying...Don't let the star rating mis-lead you. This is an awesome TV with great picture quality (the out of the box settings wont show that). Get an old Star Wars DVD and use the THX optimizer to make it great. In regards to the two HDMI ports this can easily be solved by using an HDMI Splitter...If you want all the SMART TV apps - save yourself the $700 and buy the Samsung Blu-Ray player I recommended below. Yes, I got the 3D version (plays 2D the same) because I needed the Plex App...(it was $10 more and you get more apps and functionality). If you like to stream videos, my suggestion is to get a Ethernet over Power adapter and be "hardwired" to the router for better streaming instead of using the WIFI. ( I included the Powerline adapter below) - HAVE FUN!!

Decent Tv if you know what your getting. Not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this Tv on Black Friday, like many others, and there were no reviews online about it. So I figured its an LED Samsung HDTV with 120hz refresh rate, yes I will take the gamble. Going in, I knew that it only had two HDMI ports and I feel like I did as much research on the tv as I could before I purchased it. I did however, completely overlook that it didnt have an audio out. I assumed that was a standard TV feature. At this point, the two biggest complaints I have is it needs 1 more HDMI (but thats fine because I knew it only had 2) and it needs audio out. It was a great deal at $999 for a 65 inch Samsung, but I would definitely not pay full price for this TV. Samsung makes great TV's so I was expecting a little more. When I got it out of the box the default settings were terrible. Sports looked terrible, BluRays looked less than I expected, there was lots of ghosting, peoples faces would be blurry for a second and then come into focus and be clear; it was just not at all the quality I was expecting. Last summer I bought a slim 47 inch LG LED at 240hz refresh rate, and that TV has a picture that is 15 times better than this. I was expecting the LG to have a better picture, but I was not expecting this Samsung to have such a bad picture. So the bad default settings discouraged me right away. I looked online and started seeing people post the settings they used after a few days. I started to plug in the settings I found online and I noticed that I was not allowed to change any of the "Advanced Settings' which irritated me. It would just skip over it in the menu. After about two weeks of having this TV up I was about ready to return it and purchase something smaller but better quality. I decided to give it one more whirl before I loaded it up in the car. I reset the picture to default and viola, it let me change the Advanced settings. Once I messed around with those for about an hour it made the picture quality way better. The picture quality is still not quite as good as I was expecting from a Samsung, but it is much more bearable than it was after I was able to change the advanced settings. Im sure this TV will last a long time and I will have it for years to come, and thats why it got 2 stars instead of 1. I also rated it at 2 stars because of the price. If it was on sale at $999, I'd give it 3 stars. But at full price of $1499 I'd almost say it's 1 star. This is as basic as TV's get. One other small thing, I love using my TV's as my computer monitors. I have for years, and this TV did not automatically connect to my laptop via HDMI cable. All in all, if you know what your buying and you're okay with that, its a good buy. (aka you know your buying a big Samsung TV for a decent price with little to no features, only 2 HDMI ports, no audio out, average TV speakers, subpar picture quality)

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound and picture. very easy to set up and overall pleased with the TV. Only downside is only 2 HDMI ports but since the TV was pretty cheap, I did not mind spending the extra money to get more outlets

A high-end TV for a not so high-end price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this TV during the Black Friday weekend sale to replace smaller television in my family room. I was just waiting for the right price and this one came in at a steal. I checked it out in the store and I was floored at how *incredible* the picture looks. After doing some online research and checking it out in person, I decided to pull the trigger and made the purchase. Man, am I glad I did! After tweaking with the settings a bit I was amazed that the picture clarity looked even better than it did in the store! I watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in high definition and I was blown away. It was absolutely brilliant! This television isn't a "smart" TV so it isn't capable of Internet connectivity, 3D viewing or any type of built-in apps. I'm sort of "anti-smart TV" since I have multiple video game consoles and Apple TV and don't like the premium that is charged to have those capabilities packaged in with a television itself. Additionally, The sound quality on the TV itself it pretty good for internal speakers, but I hooked it up to a Samsung Soundbar w/ wireless Subwoofer to get some better sound output. Anyone looking for an absolutely stunning TV at a really great price should go check this out and consider it!

Great TV over 60"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television is Best Buy's exclusive model for this Black Friday. I also purchased Best Buy's drop in model last year (UN55EH6001), which is an excellent set as well. The TV does not have audio output...you would need to hook up directly to a stereo for external speakers...I have a stereo with HDMI in/outputs to address this issue. If you want an excellent deal with audio outputs, get the UN65EH6000 for $1099 (I posted it in RELATED PRODUCTS). Basically the same model, but has a audio output option.

Worth the $1K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing the poor reviews people are giving for the missing connections are unjustified. The connections available are clearly listed one the box. Now to the review. This is a display period. 2 HDMI connections is all you get. No outputs of any kind. The picture quality out of the box is not great but with setting changes it can be made good. Off angle viewing is not great but bearable. Motion is not blurry on sports or gaming. So after setting changes I ended up with a good looking 65" TV worth the $1K I paid for it. I added a smart blue-ray player and now I have a smart 65" TV.

awesome tv for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't need a smart tv this is the deal for you. Its the same as the 6000 series but its just not an energy saver which I don't have turned on anyways. I cant believe people are so picky to give such bad reviews, I suppose most people have much too high of expectations and in that case they should fork over the extra money and get a smart tv or a 240hz tv. If your looking for an awesome tv that has a great picture without all the bells and whistles of a smart tv this is the perfect tv for you, Don't let the bad reviews scare you. I LOVE this tv :)

Bare-bones model
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I'm a Geeksquad installer, so I install these kinds of TVs all day. I only needed a minimum of 2 HDMI ports because I was planning on getting a receiver later on, but it turns out that this TV doesn't even have any audio outputs. That means if you are planning on connecting it to a sound bar, you can't hook up an optical cable to it, which severely limits the sound capabilities. It doesn't connect to the internet, so you can say goodbye to any Smart features. It's a cheap bare bones Black Friday model that if you want to get any decent features or ports out of it, you need to spend $400+ to make up for it. You might as well buy the 6300 series and save yourself the trouble. The only reason someone should buy this TV is if they already have an HD receiver, Smart Devices that get apps, and have a legitimate 5.1/7.1 surround sound system instead of a sound bar. In closing, if it looks too good to be true, it likely is.

Are you a picture enthusiast? READ BELOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There I was at a black friday night when i saw this TV for 999$ and made me suddenly decide to step out of my buying plan with no research (there was also no reviews on this model at the time) I thought 'hmmm.. its cheap maybe only because its almost featureless. after all i just wanted a great picture, and with few calibrations im sure i can make this work out'.. Long story short.. I was wrong. I have a samsung plasma 50 inch (PN50C550 2010 model) I tested my tv with this 65 inch SIDE BY SIDE with blu ray movies. Holy cow what a difference, the LED samsung was not a match AT ALL with the Plasma Samsung. Not by a long shot, while playing i spent almost 4 hours trying to calibrate the picture and researching picture settings online. I had really wanted to keep the LED because of its size and it was cheap! Don't get me wrong, the picture is JUST A TAD under decent. However, I'm a HUGE picture quality enthusiast I had really wanted to keep it and try and make it work out.. but no. I should have known better. Ladies and Gentlemen if your looking for just a BIG cheap TV with OK picture than this is it. If you love great outstanding picture quality.. GET A PLAMSA!! Trust me I know, and for those for yet don't know, its not just from what I have but from much research and other plasmas i've seen.. SAMSUNG and PANASONIC all the way!!! We took the TV back, went home and later ordered the Panasonic 65ST60 plasma online, its HIGHLY rated by the real "nerds" of HD and BEST picture for the buck. And its just a TINY tad under the top notch pricier contenders such as the Panasonic VT or ZT series and Samsung F8500. So yes, I sound like a sales man but check it out. Again, its the panasonic ST series. I saw that the 60 inch is currently just 1,499! I'll make a bet thats probably the best picture bang for the buck right now. don't think so? write about it below ADDED NOTE: If price is the issue and you can't come up with 400$ more. There are PLENTY of great plasmas that fall in the 1000$ price range, it may not be a large 65 inch. But 55 to 60 inch is ok! its worth to sacrifice a few inches for a MUCH better picture.

Beautiful picture!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv with everything I need in a tv. Will need calibrating. Good settings can be found with a simple Google search. I don't understand people knocking stars for this tv because they don't take the time to read and understand the specifications, especially when they paid $1000.00 for it. If you want more connections spend $500.00 more. I if you want it smart add another $500.00.

Great tv at a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this tv on Thurs and received it yesterday. I must say I was a little worried after reading the negative reviews posted on best buy. I'm happy to say the tv looks amazing after you calibrate a bit. For the price this tv cannot be beat. For anyone that wants to know about input lag as far as games go there is none. COD GHOSTS for ps4 plays great and looks amazing and so do blu rays. Anybody on the fence about buying this television do it you will not regret it.

Excellent value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on black Friday - online - and then got very concerned after reading the initial few reviews. Kept the faith as I waited for delivery, and kept reading newer reviews - most of which were positive, and even posted calibration settings. TV was delivered on Sat - I picked the settings mentioned by some of the reviewers, and have been enjoying the TV ever since. Picture is excellent, sound is average - like other TVs - no less and no more. As stated clearly, it has 2 HDMI inputs and is not a Smart TV. As long as you are going eyes open with this info, you will be pleasantly surprised with this TV. Also, my other concern was 'weak' audio, and there being no audio output - however, this TVs audio is more than sufficient - of course you can make it better with a home theatre - but IMO it is not necessary

Whats the problem?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know what all the crying is about. I bought this tv on black friday and got an unreal price. After reading all the negative comments, I almost cancelled delivery. Then I said what the hell, the worst case senario is that I return it. I have a 60 inch LG which has a fantastic picture and paid a lot more for it. Let me say that this Samsung has every bit as good a picture as the LG. All it takes is a little tweaking with the settings. I wasn't interested in all the bells and whistles that a smart tv has. I don't use the sound, I use a home theater system, so I don't really care about the sound. All in all, this is a terrific tv.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't believe the bad reviews. Unless you are a videophile, you'll love this tv. If you are looking for the best picture ever, then buy the top of line instead of this tv. No bad pixels or clouding in my set. Picture is clear and blacks were very dark after adjustments. I replaced a Samsung 50" plasma with this, and I have to say that the picture is much better on this. Calibration is a must as other users have mentioned. I used DVE, but found the THX calibration that is available on many DVD or Blu ray movies got me most of the way there and would be fine for most people. I run everything through my receiver, so no problems with the connections. I knew what I was getting since it describes the connections in detail. Sound is average like any other LED/Plasma. I am very happy with this purchase so if you are on the fence and not expecting more than a $1,000 65" TV can realistically deliver, then go out and get it. You won't be sorry.

Great LED TV for the $$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SAMSUNG Quality picture! This is just what I needed. A 65" LED to attach to my Onkyo, HDMI receiver. Admittedly, no frills, but I don't need them. Between my receiver and Apple TV I have everything I need. For someone who just needs an exceptional 65" LED monitor, you can't do better than this with the Best Buy Black Friday pricing.

Great TV without all the unneeded features.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is perfect for me. I have 5 HDMI inputs into my receiver and 1 out to the TV. All streaming media is taken care of within my components so a "Smart TV" would have been a waste of money. Just like any TV, take some time and tweak the settings to your liking. It took a while buy I finally nailed it. No jittering or ghosting or motion blurring. I got it at the unbeatable price of $999.99 with 2 years of interest free financing.
