great tv with great features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is amazing. There are not enough good things to say about it. The 3D works great, picture quality is great, and the remote is very convenient. There is not much 4K content right now, but this will upscale everything and is one of the best pictures I have seen to date.

Great Choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying that up to now I have been a Sony guy. But after careful research and frequent comparative viewings, i chose this Samsung UHD TV over the Sony 65X900B. The Samsung has more style, a comparable picture, great sound without having to put huge speakers on the side of the TV, and an easy to navigate menu. I have not made any adjustments to the picture at all. I keep it on Standard for normal TV viewing and will occasionally use Cinema for watching movies. A common complaint about UHD TV's is that they make movies look like video recordings and the subtle features of a carefully crafted film are lost. This is true to a certain extent and I was very concerned about this myself. but, I thought to myself, this is the same comment I made as I watched my very first DVD movie (Gone With The Wind) on a Sony XBR tube type TV years ago. You get used to the increased resolution quickly and then it doesn't seem so jarring. I have noticed the "judder " that a lot of owners (and many who have returned the TV as a result) have made comments about in their reviews of this TV and UHD TV's in general. I see this on SD programs and some HD programs depending on the satellite channel they are being shown on. I have not made any adjustments to compensate for this because no one else watching the TV has made a comment that they see an issue with the program. As an aside, do not bother with a UHD TV if you have cable and watch a lot of SD programming. I have DirecTV satellite TV and it is great and highly recommended. (You get what you pay for!) I will not comment on connectivity with this TV because at this point I have not used these features and probably will not use them anytime soon. Suffice it to say, if you use these features, make absolutely sure that you have a great high speed connection. Wireless is nice, but you will always do better with a hard connection unless that is not possible. I will likely use an Oppo BDP-103 player and use the streaming capability of this superb device instead of relying on the TV anyway. One last comment. I will agree that if you plan on buying a 55 inch or smaller TV, you may not need to go with a UHD TV over a Full HD TV at this time but for 65 inch or larger, I think you will see a huge difference in the resolution and will be very pleased with this particular Samsung TV.

Ridiculous Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got bit by the new TV bug and bounced from store to store checking out TVs. I was going to settle on the 7150 which is 1080p 240hz after reading a gang of reviews saying how long it would take for 4k content and that your eyes couldn't really see the difference. I also considered a curve but then I read about how weird they looked on the wall and actually only had one sweet spot in a room. So in the store as always they have the one that's really good and the one you want for $1k more right next to each other and then of course the really good is missing that one must have feature that makes you NEED the next higher one right? Well I will say I bit the bullet and got the "future proof" 8550 and I am blown away by how much better the picture is! You have not seen 3D until you've seen it on this. I may never go to the movies again and this was on Directv 3DNet. The remote takes a little getting use to but it's so futuristic it's cool. The multi screen is awesome and the Web is fast. I have a Note 3 and mirrored my phone to the screen to show picture with one touch. I was also able to see my TV on my phone after downloading a free app. Did I say the image is ridiculously amazing? I am so glad I picked this one. Now if only I didn't have to ever leave my couch.

Awesome TV Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on a impulse buy and because I was able to get it for $2,500. I had a great 2011 Samsung 3D 240HZ tv and upgraded to this WOW what a upgrade. I honestly didn't think it would be much but the picture on this tv is amazing. The blacks on this TV look good and the 3D looks so much better then my 2011 model less ghosting. The clouding is not as bad as my 2011 model also it's still there on this TV but it's less distracting then the 2011 Samsung. I have been gaming on this tv with the Playstation 4 and I am blown away. I did turn on game mode to help the lag input and I don't notice any issues with my game play. So if your a gamer you will be glad to know this. Let's talk movies the picture is amazing on blu ray movies. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of 4K content. Don't let the sales people fool you there's really NO TRUE 4K content available. Yes you can watch House Of Cards On Netflix and some 4k content on youtube but it's not true 4K. Example a 4K full movie would be ruffly 100gb maybe more a hour tv show about half that. Getting that streamed is going to be a challenge. My internet speeds are 124 mps and my ISP is upgraded that in a few weeks to 150mps even with these speeds it will be challenge. Look at the Sony 4k hub and see the reviews don't purchase it because it won't work for a Samsung TV. You will see people saying it took almost 24 hours or longer to download a 4k movie. The only way I see 4K being able to work is by having physical media or network providers doing MAJOR upgrades. I don't see this happening till middle of 2015. You can buy a 4K movie pack from Samsung that come's with a few movies on a hard drive but I don't think it's worth it. So for now this TV is future proof and Samsung will have 4 evolution kits coming out for this one new each year on top of this. If you can get a deal like me on this 65" buy it or If you really need and TV. If you are just upgrading you won't be disappointed but I would wait until next year when 4K content is taking off.

Welcome to the Next Level
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the tv for a couple weeks now and I must say that the picture quality is superb. The blacks are great and the contrast in images is just fantastic. You have all the next gen prerequisites on board and when more 4k content is released you will be good to go. switch from app to app is a breeze with the quad core processor and the multiview works flawlessly. It pretty much upconverts any video signal that is input and makes it look nicer. Regular SD material has better colors and HD/Bluray material has much more detail. House of Cards on Netflix has a 4k stream and (after it buffers up) it looks great. I have noticed on a couple of very dark scenes on TV and bluray, the tv couldn't figure out if it should dim it out or not and got a bit pixelated but figured it out. The smart remote is easy to use and kind of has a wii type of feel to it and a light shows up on screen pointing to where ever you point it at. The Smart app interface has taken a bit to get used to but read the eManual and it will tell you everything. The PS4 looks great and gaming is pretty smooth on this set. (i don't notice much of any lag) So far I am very pleased, now bring on the 4k content.

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is the nicest I've ever owned, and my last Samsung was really nice! It took a week or so to get the settings right, but now it amazes me even on the regular HD stations. You can get good starting settings on Cnet and soundandvisionmag.com and then tweak them from there to your likeing. The Netflix 4K content is incredible with shows like Marco Polo and House of Cards. The 3d was something I thought I would never use until I watched Avatar and it is stunning. I absolutely LOVE this TV. Mine is 65" to fit my room, but if you can fit (and afford) bigger, get it. You won't be sorry.

Excellent Investment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched several in this category for several months before making a purchase. Overall this screen scores high in all categories for me. Ease of installation and configuration: Unboxing does take two people and I would recommend following the instructions provided (downloadable online in advance if you are so inclined). While the installation was easy and the set is relatively lite for its size, I would recommend having an installer do this for you. Connectivity and configuration: Attachment to devices is simple and the back panel is clear and easy to understand (referencing the quick install guide helps as well). I recommend investing in the highest quality HDMI and Fiber cables (and cables otherwise) possible for the best possible experience. Configuration via the menu does take some time. Not that it is complicated but the options are plentiful and taking the time to configure connections including WIFI and other options is worthwhile. I found that while the online forums and videos on settings were helpful, some experimentation with settings is best to insure you are getting the most within your environment. Picture Quality Comparing this to other 4K sets at 120hrz the quality is similar, but, the up scaling algorithm, in my opinion, is broader (it seems to do better with lower resolutions than others) and of course up scaling of 1080 content is near perfect. 4K content, while sparse, is fascinating - the level of detail is beyond compare. In fact, some would say distracting. It is so clear, I agree, studios will need make a greater effort to make sets seem more real. Internet Connectivity: Connectivity to the internet for streaming requires 25mb download minimum. This shouldn't be an issue for most areas, but something you should be aware of. At that rate streaming is excellent from all sources I've tried (Netflix requires 25mb for streaming 4k). Internet browsing using the remote is ok, performance is ok, entry using the remote is not that easy and takes a lifetime...use a wireless keyboard. Overall: This is the best set for this size and cost that I've seen available. Its ability to take on upgrades is especially intriguing and contributes to the investment factor along with recent price drops. Enjoy!

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is awesome, used cnet calibration parameters, very happy with results. Not a fan of 3D, but it works fine. Some of the Smart TV functionality is quite good and useful, including a web browser. Had a hard time getting Netflix running but after a reset, was able to connect. Clever remote, but I mostly use a harmony one. Beautiful looking tv, simple but functional stand, very thin. Sound is ok but I use a surround sound system with high quality components, so no expectations from built-in sound.

Great TV Overall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this tv and my local BB and was amazed at the picture quality. I understand that they are only showing 4K upscaled blu rays on the tv, but the picture was perfect. I brought the tv home and set it up within 10 minutes. The step by step instructions on the screen went smoothly. My only complaint is that the picture out of the box needed some tweaking. The picture at the BB store gives off the image that this tv will come looking like this out of the box. I have found some calibration settings online, but not many. You will have to adjust the settings to your liking. The apps are very quick with the processor that is in the tv and nagivating through screens are smooth and quick. The quad screen capibility (watch 4 shows at once) is great for sports lovers. Overall, the picture (once adjusted) is absolutely mind blowing. You sometimes feel like your on the tv set filiming the show or movie. Sound is adequate and has improved over the years with flatscreens. If you find calibration settings online, please share with the rest of the viewers so they can experiece the best overall picture on the market today. This tv is worth every penny spent. You will not be disappointed with the results. Note: Major reason for the purchase of this tv was the it was flat. The curved tv's by Samsung were too hard to get used to in the store. Cant imagine mounting a curved tv on the wall and not have it look weird. If your in the market for a new 4K flatscreen, this tv is head and shoulders above any other manufacturer.

Great 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent 4K tv. Not a fan of the picture out of the box, did some adjustments to make it watchable. It got significantly better after about 120 hours of "on time". This TV needs to be calibrated to look amazing. I replaced a Pioneer Elite PRO-101 plasma, so the bar was set pretty high. After calibration, this TV looks amazing.

Worth every penny. Get it. Get it now!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is mind blowing. I am a bit of a videophile, and have had HD tv's and an HD projector home theater for years. This was an upgrade for a smaller TV in our bedroom. I had to order it and wait a week for it to come in, and I almost had buyers remorse when I went back and talked to a couple of the BB guys who are the "experts" in the store. They were talking about how there isn't really any native 4K content to speak of, and that my comcast programming wouldn't be up to snuff for a while, and the upscaling was only so good, etc. Got this baby set up last night and watched "Fargo" tv show on Apple TV - so a streaming show, that is listed as coming in at 1080p. This was over the wi-fi in the house, and I don't have some super duper T1 internet connection. I'm still in shock and awe. It was so real and clear that it was almost a distraction. Mind you, I've been watching this show on an HD projector and HD LCD TV prior to this, and I felt like I was in the scene with the actors. My only criticism of Best Buy is that they don't have a picture like this playing on the set in the store. If I had seen the picture in the store that I saw last night in my house, I would have bought this earlier. If you like a super clear picture, this TV is it! I don't know how much clearer a native 4K picture can be. I haven't even scratched the surface of all the other features, apps, etc., and I don't care. If all I can do is watch my shows at this level of clarity, its worth it.

Incredible Picture, Pause for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time I wandered around Best Buy looking for the right television to purchase, I gravitated to the Samsung 65" 4K model I am reviewing. Now, I understand they use designated content to get the best picture for the display, but it was amazing nonetheless. I couldn't see spending $2,500 on a tv, so I waited, looked and tried a couple others, and then finally got fortunate when I was able to purchase this model open-box for $1,500. I brought it home, set it up, and wow, even Fios looked amazing. I purchased the Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray player that upscaled at the same time, so I got it all set up, and watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", which is a movie they were using to demo the Samsung 75" model at Best Buy. The picture was amazing. The upscaling on the Blu-Ray was incredible, and the picture blew us all away. Switching back to Fios, the pic looked great too, the tv doing a great job of upscaling on all sources. Would I have paid $2499 for the set? I don't think so, just because of budget-minded wife would have prevented it, and common sense on my part. I have other priorities too. But for the $1500 spent, it's better than anything else I could have gotten, and fairly, even at $2500 outshines every other set you can lay your eyes on. The picture is beautiful, the menus are classy and easy to use, the dual remotes are handy, and the television off, with minimal frame, is also pleasant to the eye.

The Best 4k Tv Under 3g
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i exhanged my 60" one for this model for the extra viewing screen. everything on this tv just perform as good as the 60" model except i have notice that its kinda slow to navigate between selection in the menu compared to the 60" model. i have no idea why but it is not a deal breaker and iam very happy with this tv! do your homework, research every top named websites that had done their reviews about this tv and you will find out that this tv is worth every pennies! but one short thought that i have is, for people that so used to the plasma super fast refresh rate and love watching sports.. this tv might gonna dissapoint you.

Incredible Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market to buy a new TV. I didn't think about a 4k tv until I was at Best Buy and saw the HU9000 on display. After weeks of researching, watching 4k, blu ray and TV at friends homes with 4k TV's, I decided to make the jump. For the discount that was provided, I paid just about the same amount that I was going to pay for a regular 3D TV. I checked out the previous F9000, a couple of the Sony 4K's and the LG models. Since I connect everything thru a receiver, I didn't need a TV with great sound... so that took out the Sony models. The LG 9700 and 9650 were in the running until I read about issues with the motorized speakers... even though I don't use the on board speakers, I didn't want something motorized that might break. I got this TV for $2300 shipped and with a warranty. It was a no brainer. 720p content looks really good 1080p content looks incredible 4k stuff blows your mind. I really hope that 4k takes off. when the content goes up, I think people will jump on a 4k tv as compared to an OLED display
