Fantastic UHD TV from Samsung !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much debate between the Sony equivalent and this unit I cannot be happier that I went with the Samsung. This Samsung UHD TV is EXCELLENT !! From the colors, 3D and smart TV apps I am extremely pleased and it's everything I expected and more. I wall mounted the unit and it's just striking in it's appearance. The 3D quality on this unit is simply fantastic and 3D movies look simply amazing. I'm a Sony guy but loved that this units firmware updated automatically which it did right after I hooked it up to my WIFI. The 4 3D glasses which came with it are very nice but battery power was nominal at best but that's ok and can replaced easily. Not worried about that as this review is for the TV. It is beyond exceptional and couldn't be more pleased !!!

Love My New TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so surprised when I watched a few 4k titles on Netflix - the quality of the picture is stunning. Its so real it that it boggles the mind. Even the 1080p content that is upscaled is stunning. IT almost feels like you are on the set of the movie with the actors and producers, etc. Amazing. Watching Monday night football right now and it doesn't seem as crisp as some as the other content I have watched. Everything else is absolutely stunning.

great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't even going to buy this class of tv however after seeing it in the store I decided that the picture was far superior than anything else on display. After getting it installed at home, I absolutely love it. The only draw back is no front connection for any quick use like a camera etc. You need to do everything on the back, the curved screen does help that. I love the smart remote and after the learning curve, everything works great. I don't use all of the features but this tv has the best picture of any I have owned before. I mostly watch movies and the quality is crystal clear with bluray and hd satellite. plenty of connections and with smart hub I no longer use my Roku box.

Great picture, very poor functionality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went in buying this TV as I have several Samsung products that I love. So seemed a no brainer. After getting this TV home it was very easy to set up. Got Netfilx working and watched some amazing 4k shows which were stunning. As for the "Smart" TV apps it was a failure. Some apps wouldn't respond, others worked find. That changed the next morning when apps that worked previously now wouldnt, etc.. Also some shows open in the corner picture frame and eventually become full screen, others dont. There simply seems to be no rhyme or reason for this. Overall for the price of this TV I could not settle for great picture, but poor functionality where I would have to add an Apple TV. So it went back to the store where I picked up the Sony 4k which had much more value and functionality. Overall it's a total bummer that Samsung makes so many great products and these "Smart" TV's are a failure due to their own system.

Going back to PLASMA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had it a little while, got calibrated but still this TV is not what I expected. I watch sports quite a bit and every time someone is running or you follow a ball across the screen you will see this blurriness around the person or ball. Almost like a little flutter. It absolutely drives me nuts! Tried several different settings for Motion and still appears. Not sure if it's the 120MHZ refresh compared to my previous Plasma but it stinks. ALso the Blacks are terrible. Keep getting blotchy yellow pixelation. 2 terrible flaws that I can't live with so I am switching to the PN648550 Samsung Plasma. 4k isn't even out yet for the most part so I can wait another 5 years until they get it right. HUGE BUYERS REMORSE for $3000 TV.

Best 4k 65" TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly the best option if you are looking for a 65"4k tv. I originally purchased the sony 4k and had some motion judder. Returned that for the lg 4k because it has a better refresh rate. That one was worse. Then i got the Samsung and it hit the spot. Very good crisp picture with minimal judder and blur. I use my tv for watching cable more than anything else and this has by far the best picture quality. Gaming works well and it is feature rich. Overall i am extremely happy with this tv. I recommend this to everyone.

Samsung 4K 8550 (2014) SUCKS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this TV I was anxious to take it home and set it up. At the store the TV looked amazing. And thinking it was the 8550 series there should be no issues. After testing it I was disappointed. Reason why is because when watching fast moving scenes the 120hz CANNOT support its resolution, a lot of bad pixelation.I cannot believe that spending $3400+ gets you this type of picture. I would have thought this would have been perfected but I was wrong. Im going to try the 65" LG 4K 240hz. But dont get me wrong when its a slow scene its the best picture ever but once someone moves fast you can see it. At least I can. And for people who say there is no difference or your eye can see the difference. Go get your eyes checked because you definitely can.

Great Still Picture But...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tv looked great in the store but when i got it home i noticed big time motion blur. Not only that the viewing angle is slim and uniformity is not very good the whole perimeter of the tv is brighter than the rest of the screen. Tv picture is very defined great for still or slow moving scenes but if you like watching movies or sports (fast action) BUY A PLASMA while you still can!!! LCD LED TVs just don't compare they're extremely harsh on the eyes I ended up returning it and got the PN60F5300 for $699 way less than $2399. I also got the chance to compare them side by side and at 8 feet away the difference in 1080p and 4K resolution was minor granted that was Netflix 4K but the picture quality difference was huge. NO MOTION BLUR with the PLASMA complete uniformity, better contrast, better black levels, and better color.

I will never purchase another Samsung product.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this set on August 20, 2012. Initially the picture was great with no flaws other than some motion artifacts. In late October, I noticed that there was a thin black line that ran from the top of the TV to the bottom. I called Best Buy and was told that since the TV was beyond the return window, I would have to deal directly with Samsung. I contacted Samsung and they sent a tech to inspect the TV. The tech immediately turned off the TV and began to wipe it with a cloth he sprayed with a solution. After doing this, he shined a high powered flashlight on the TV and inspected it from about 3" away from the screen. He found some minor scratches on the screen and advised that because there were scratches on the screen, even thought they had nothing to do with the black line, he could not service the TV. The scratches he found are not at all visible during normal use. As mentioned above, they also have nothing to do with the black line on the screen. I again contacted Samsung after the tech left and questioned them on this. They verified that if there is any "damage" to the TV, they will not do anything to service the TV even if the problem is not related to the "damage". I then went to Best Buy to see if they could help me with this in any way. Instead of assisting me, they tersely explained that I could pay Geek Squad to repair my three month old TV at my own expense. It appears that this TV is now a $3,000.00 paperweight.

Ahead of its time, wait for bugs to get worked out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on the great reviews and ratings not just from this site, I decided to pull the trigger and buy this TV. Many bugs still exist in this TV. Just so you understand, I used professional services to calibrate. issues 1) Blacks are very pixelated, and you cannot get it corrected. 2) Color and clarity is TV channel dependent! Making for a frustrating TV viewing. 3) Viewing angle, is a major problem hence the reason they came out with the curved Version. If you are not sitting directly in front of the TV the LED lighting really shows the problems of watching an LED. Gets brighter and color issues. 4) The Biggest problem with the is the VOICE does not match the TV. At first it matches perfectly, after an hour or so it slowly starts to drift and eventually becomes annoying. ***If you buy this TV I highly recommend a sound bar or home theater system or you will regret your decision. The sound is very low and no Bass what so ever.***

Returning today, very disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After researching UHD sets I thought for sure that this was the one. After a few weeks of trying to make the picture flawless I have given up. The picture is beautiful with streaming, Blu-Ray players and even DVD players. Set-top box to the tv, horrible. I worked with Samsung to resolve and their support was useless. They blamed the set-top box. Contacted Verizon FiOS they assisted and attempted to help but the picture quality was still lacking. Any live or real life events on the tv are terrible and frustrating to watch. The refresh rate is to slow and causes the TV to pixelate during camera transitions. I have not given up on UHD sets but I have given up on Samsung's. This was my first ever Samsung and compared to the LG that I just replaced, this set doesn't even come close. I am returning the tv to bestbuy today. For the price this tv should have zero issues.

Great Man gift
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love that he can go relax and get 'out of my hair' by watch this unit in our theater room. Only thing he needs is a Roomba delivery and since it is up a flight of stairs probably going to have to wait for that robot? iRobot anyone? Seriously, the only drawback is our slow internet wireless routing at times and that is not the unit's fault.

CAUTION: FRAGILE! DO NOT PURCHASE!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this TV online because I wanted the latest and greatest. Picked it up in store, cautiously transported home and set up. Turned it on and there was a huge break in the bottom left hand corner underneath the glass that caused the screen to be severely damaged. Turns out it was damaged in the shipping process and unusable, so I took it back to Best Buy within the hour. They replaced it with a new one. Brought it home EXTRA carefully, and set it up without further issue. Finally got around to mounting it with the assistance of two friends after having the TV less than 2 months. Hung the mount on the wall and gently lifted the TV to the mount. Now, the screen has developed very annoying twitches every 15-20 seconds. I've since had conversations with multiple other friends who have had similar issues with this TV model. I can't believe that Samsung would put such a terrible, fragile product on the market. I've been loyal to Samsung for TV and other electronics for years, but this does not live up to the usual quality and durability. Very unhappy with my $3000 TV purchase. Should have gone with a 1080p or a different brand of TV. THIS TV IS FAR TOO FRAGILE!! BUYER BEWARE!!

Does not connect to current PC or Apple products
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Will not connect to IPad, IPhone, or current PC's!! This is a high end TV that does not do what lower competitor TV's do. Samsung says they are working on their app but have no plans to ugrade for 64 bit PC's. If you are thinking about buying this to view your PC, think again! Search "smartview connection" to see hundreds of poor reviews on the app.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We really like the television, but it was difficult to get the picture settings correct. My husband had to look on the internet because the defaults were terrible. If you're not tech-savvy, just something to consider.
