issue with new Samsung.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv was delivered & installled on 12/24/16. It was working fine, 3 weeks, when all of the sudden a horizontal line showed up about 1/4 the way up the screen. It runs across the full screen. Today I called Best Buy/Geek Squad and was told they can't help me and I have to contact Samsung. So I called Samsung and had to do about 10 different things so they could determine the problem was with the tv and not something else. Now I have to make an appointment to have a service person come to diagnose the problem. This is only available Monday to Friday. then there's a good chance they won't have the part or will have to replace the tv which will involve more time spent for future appointments. This is why I can't give it any stars. After the problem is resolved I'd be happy to update my review.

Very expensive flawed TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many TVs. Samsung has discontinued the full sized one-connect box which sucks. No more upgrade options for Samsung tvs. This tv has terrible local dimming. The zones are few and huge so you get bad blooming. Letterbox black bars lighten with bright scenes. Mine had DSE, dirty screen effect which is yellowed patches visible during sky or snow scenes. Screen is reflective so in a bright living room it can be distracting. Mine had a few dead pixels also. Samsung charges way to much for their tv's to have these flaws. I exchanged this for an 65E6 OLED tv.

TV has Never Worked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV a few months ago and I finally began the set up 3 weeks ago. The TV did not work. Best Buy says they cannot help because it was purchased more than 30 days ago. So I called Samsung and their rep was most unhelpful. They sent out replacement parts (one connect box and cord) which will arrive in 5 to 10 business days. But then the Geek Squad came out ( they were sent in error) and said it is a mother board problem. I called back Best Buy and the supervisor (Jo) said they could not help and she transferred me to Samsung. Samsung says I have to go though the repair/trouble shooting process. So $2000 later I have never had a working TV, I am taking time off from work to meet a technician who must have 3 visits/attempts at a repair and no one wants to step up & provide me with a replacement because of procedures. Sounds like I bought a $2000 problem. So is this a new TV or will it be considered refurbished if and when it's repaired?

Avoid at all costs!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV runs on Android TV, and is buggy to the point of being completely useless. Every software update breaks something that was working before. If you, however, decide to buy one - disable automatic software updates and don't install the latest updates manually - they'll break whatever was still working. If you haven't bought one yet - forget Samsung. Do yourself a favor and buy something else - Sony, LG, anything that isn't made by Samsung and doesn't run on Android TV.

Netflix app sucks. My 4 yrs. Works better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is not worth the money I paid for it. Apps don't work well. Connection is terrible although my older Samsung tv has much better app quality and picture. This may be defective but I don't want to risk exchanging it. Very frustrated with the product and Samsung support. They don't know squat.

Quality with Elagance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Returned a Samsung UN65KS8000 for this set due to poor build quality. The back panel on the 8 series is glued on with double sided tape in the corners and starts to come off after heat cycles from the led's. Mine started after 3 days. Although this set is more expensive and has an identical picture, the build quality far exceeds the 8 series. The black levels are absolutely impressive for an edge lit non OLED set and there is no flash lighting in any of the corners like most edge lit's are plagued by. Gaming is amazing on my PS4 Pro due to class leading low latency and a stunning picture with top notch HDR. Regular cable from my Xfinity HD box looks fantastic and it does an excellent job upscaling even the worse content and 4K content is absolutely breathtaking. So far I'm very happy with this TV and recommend it over the 8 series if you can afford to spend a little more.

One of the best, if not the best LED TV to date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got the 65" KS9000 and with not hesitation, I would say that this is one of the best (if not the best) LED TVs made to date. I have been trying to find flaws on this TV and so far, none. - It has no banding on screen uniformity issues (nadda) which came as big surprise to me due to flaws we have always had with TVs with LED back-light. The back-light is also at the bottom and top of the screen (not on the side) - No light bleeds or clouding, and no vignetting even the brightest or darkest of screens. - The contrast is very good: there are no fluctuations in the black bars in widescreen movies even the darkest of rooms for me, and the black & gray uniformity is the best I have seen to date. - Up-scalling is wonderful as always; watching satellite and other 720p or 1080i programing on this TV is wonderful but 1080p bluray just blows me away every time (It's just flawless). - Reflections aren't a problem even in the brightest of rooms (it all has to do with the Samsung's ultra black technology in this TV ---read more on that if you are intereted) - Build quality: its thin but pretty sturdy, and at no point in the mounting did I feel like it would fall apart which is pretty remarkable - The remote is pretty remarkable, and ergonomic to the point that I want to make it a primary remote because it would be used as a universal remote. Cons - like everything else, pretty expensive but worth it

Best LED currently on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent black levels, minimal light bleed, excellent color, great smart hub with lightning quick response, excellent UHD upscaler all in an excellent package. Yes it's not an OLED but it also doesn't have image retention issues and doesn't cost $8000. I am delighted with the performace of this product.

Stunning picture, great UI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is 65" too big? Gosh, the screen is huge but at this price point why not splurge? This replaced a 10 year-old, 48" 1080p Mitsubishi, and this Samsung unit by comparison just kicks it's butt. It is SO polished ... from the amazing picture quality to the User Interface. I'm receiving Over-The-Air (OTA) content, and the TV appears to do a nice job attempting to upscale the broadcast HD (1080p) content to 4K. Streamed content (on a fast internet connection) is no less stellar. I was considering an LG OLED, but that would have cost $1500 more. The Best Buy salesperson said I'd be hard-pressed to tell these TVs apart on a side-by-side comparison, so I picked this one & saved a little dough. I don't regret it. Incidentally, I don't really write too many user reviews unless I'm really p1ssed-off or amazed with the product. I felt compelled to write about this TV ... I always look forward to turning it on.

Setup - a nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have given one star but gave two extra stars for the awesome picture this TV produces. The problem with this TV is in the setup details. I had this TV professionally mounted and installed. The installers, who did a good job, set up this TV in a logical manner. They ran both of my video HDMI outputs, cable and DVD, into my surround sound receiver HDMI inputs with one video out to the TV's "one connect" HDMI input extension unit. At first everything seemed to work fine. Then after about 1/2 hour the TV screen went blank and it switched itself from HDMI1 to TV and a message that there was "no input." After switching it back to HDMI1, it resumed normal operation until 1/2 hour later when it switched itself back to TV again and this became the pattern. At this point, I used a chat room to speak to Samsung Tech Support. They had me do the usual remedies such as unplug the TV with the power on to reset, switching to different HDMI cables but the issue persisted. After the third tech chat the agent had me fill out a service order request where I assumed a technician would come to my house and fix it. All this time, I'm thinking about returning the TV to the store (Best Buy) which would be a nightmare given the TV was already installed and mounted on my wall. A few hours later, I received a call from another technician. She asked me to describe how the TV was set up. She had me rearrange the cables so that my video HDMI outputs went directly into the TV HDMI input slots and not the receiver. The audio was returned to my receiver via the ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI slot from the TV to the receiver. Knowing zilch about ARC, this required a visit to my receiver mfg. website to find out how to set it up. If your receiver doesn't support ARC, the optical audio will work as well. Finally, everything is working the way it should. No more input switching and the sound goes to my surround sound processor. Given what I paid for this TV, one would think the firmware would be sophisticated enough so that the way the cables are configured shouldn't matter. Instead, I went through 3 days of Samsung torture to get it to work right.
