I purchased the Sony XBR900C but returned it. I went with the Samsung JS9000, have had it about 3 months now and very pleased with the picture quality. I also like the One Connect concept for future-proofing. Smart features and 3D viewing are nice also. However, I have mixed emotions about the curved screen. If theres a light source in front of the tv you see a very distinct glare across the entire screen so I had to rearrange the light sources in the room. Other that that it's a really nice tv

Not at all what I expected a 4K tv to be like. Nothing special and a disappointment when it comes to the price I paid. Find something cheaper, it will be less money for the same picture quality.

This TV is the top model in Samsung's SUHD line (S does not stand for anything; it's Samsung's premium designator) and it is a showstopper. The current best LED TV is the Sony 65X950B, but this TV meets if not exceeds that TV's picture quality. The picture quality is improved from the flagship HU9000 from last year thanks to the addition of carbon nanocrystals (Samsung's version of quantnum dot), improved LEDs in a full array with local dimming (no official word on the number of zones), and an octa-core processor. Carbon nanocrystals allow the LED's to produce a 2.5 times brighter image as well as more accurate colors (a 10-bit enables the panel to produce the DCI P3 color spectrum, which includes over 1 billion colors). The local dimming produces a black level close to the plasmas of yore and the LG OLEDs as well as brightness levels good enough for Dolby Vision (HDR). If I would have to fault the TV, then I would say that Tizen is not quite a revolution in a Smart TV platform. It is a beautiful TV both in picture quality and asthetics. It also includes breakout cables for analog sources (composite/component), so it doesn't deserve a two star rating for a lack of cables.

    Excellent TV

I must say that this is probably the best TV I have ever purchased. I am not the type of consumer that would buy the first year items. So I waited a couple of years to allow the bugs to be worked out. Then I started by research. Samsung, Sony, and LG OLED are the tops. The OLED is priced at $9999 but it has issues with motion refresh rates. But the price was the ultimate decision maker. 10K for a TV is a little much. So I looked into Sony and Samsung. Tested both systems in the store and quizzed the Geeks on the functionality. Even though Samsung lacks with the menu options it was the superior TV. I considered purchasing the 8500 model but decided to go with the JS9000. The picture is EXCELLENT, refresh rate is great. I tested the the up scaling with my digit HDX vudu account. Surprising was that with my other devise I was not able to view any HDX digital movies using wifi but with this system I was receiving maximum signal strength to view the high resolution movie i have in my account. I tested the up scaling with alot of movies. I tested older HD movies, dark movie, light, cartoon, and CGI. Result was fantastic. Batman, Home, Lord of the Rings, Avengers, Bourne,Happy Feet, Hobbit, Transformers, and more. Using WiFi -no interruptions, not reloading/booting issues. just straight fantastic viewing. So I went netflix and you tube. Results were the same. Content was upgraded to a level of viewing that I have never witness on a television. The picture quality and the colors are excellent. Just watch Pacific Rim. You can see the rain clearly during the battle scene in the street. The viewing was as real as 3d without the glasses. The Dark Knight the street chase scene with the Joker, the picture was so crisp that even if I was at the scene location when they shot the film I would have preferred to see it on the this TV. AMAZING..... Excellent buy and excellent product. No I have to upgrade my TV in my room. Huge step down to 1080p. I haven't tested the 3d yet but was disappointed that this set only came with 1 3d pair of classes.

Outstanding display. Up scaling looks great. But it only comes with one pair of battery eating 3D glasses. If you intend on watching any of the nicely rendered 3D content I would strongly recommend you purchase the rechargeable Samsung 3D glasses. (These are the glasses that should have been provided). The smart hub set up is problematic but Samsung customer service was good there. Very happy with the TV. 4.7 stars.

Looks awesome, until you look closely. Lots of edge bleed if you are unlucky at the quality control draw. Light spot on mine. Positive is that Samsung Elite customer service and Best Buy Wichita Falls were great to help me replace the TV with an LG Oled!

    The Best I've Seen

I'm a mechanic and I bought this 4K TV to replace me old Samsung 46". The first thing it did was connect to my wireless internet, down loaded some updates and it walked me through the initial setup. I don't have a 4k Blue ray player or a 4k receiver, but I found out that You Tube has 4k videos. So I press the Smart Hub button on the remote and selected You Tube, searched for "4K Videos" and played the first one that popped up. My 3 kids (all under the age of 7) stopped what they were doing and were glued to the TV. They were mesmerized! The color and clarity is nothing like I've ever seen. Their favorite is the "birds of prey" video. Very impressive.

    Magnificent TV

I was in the market for a 4K TV in August 2015. I conducted my research at Best Buy stores and several online sites. I first tested the Sony 65X850C at the recommendation of Best Buy employees. After a few days, I returned the Sony based on three reasons. First, the initial set up took quite a bit of time. Second, watching sports on the Sony wasn't a great experience because of the blurs. Third, in general the Sony did not have brilliant colors. After returning the Sony, I tested the Samsung 65JS8500. This TV was somewhat better than the Sony. However, there were still blurs when watching sports. Additionally, the bright silver frame was distracting to my eyes. I read a lot of reviews on the 65SJ9000. Some of the complains which concerns me was 1# This TV is similar to the SJ8500 and not worth the extra money. 2# The curve screen is merely an gimmick. 3) The picture degrades when viewed at an angle. 4) The sound is not great. Since I was not completely happy with the SJ8500, I decided to test out the SJ9000. Wow...I'm glad I did. Although the SJ9000 is similar to the 8500 in may aspects, the extra 500 is worth spending. 1) the frame on the 9000 is a darker silver and it does not create distractions. 2) The curve screen actually enhances the viewing experience. I was hesitant to try the curve, but I was pleasantly surprised. 3) I have no idea how or why, but the SJ9000 does not have noticeable blurs when watching sports #perhaps I finally figure out advanced settings). 4) I frequently watch this TV from the kitchen while cooking. I gota tell ya, the picture is still great, contrary to the discouraging reviews. 5) Best Buy is currently offering $500 off on sound bars when purchasing a SJ9000. I thought a sound bar for $497 #it's essentially free). This TV is phenomenon. In conclusion, I don't know much about all the technical aspects. From pure experiment, I found this TV to be amazingly terrific for football and for movies.

It's a great TV. Wouldn't recommend for SD

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Coming from a plasma 50" going to a 65" LCD is different all right. My Plasma still rocks a gorgeous screen, clear and bright after 6 years of almost always on 24/7. The plasma's are hard to beat, even with all the special names and tech Samsung has come up with. A bigger TV also always makes lesser quality programming hard to watch, the size exponentially makes SD worse due to the nature of size. With this said, being a satellite guy mostly I am uber pleased, however what seemed tolerable on my smaller (by 31%) 50" seems painful if it's showing some home movie type video in a movie or just a terrible camera used years ago in SD is rough, lucky for me these are few and far between. I wanted 3D in my next tv, this seems mostly glossed over by reviewers so here's some Info. It's nice and bright! Using the $49 rechargeable bad boy glasses bought separately is super, super clear and clean. People use words like "crosstalk" and "banding" but I'll speak in normal laymans terms, there are adjustments for certain settings to eliminate the double images seen on outlines (crosstalk, sorry said I wouldn't do that) and although things don't seem to come closer like in the theater, the tv is really deep and dedicated 3D movies are a treat. I wanted active 3D but the glasses that come with it ($20) use batteries to the tune of about 2 movies per set, that's unacceptable, will probably buy another pair of rechargeable glasses. I cannot get over or be clear enough, on how dang clear the picture is, and bright, again, with the $50 glasses, I've not used the $20 set and to be fair I've "heard" (read) that the $50 pair is brighter. I also think the $20 is useless for 2D-3D conversion, because they won't last long enough to use regularly. That said, the up conversion works fairly well, watching "How the Universe Works" using the up-conversion was pretty cool last night. They say (guru's) that UHD will be a bigger gain the 4K, I'm not so sure. The 4K when available is impressive to say the least. Here's some thought on that. $50 is what Directv wants to upgrade to 4K, it can't be done by you either, HAS to be them, they have to come out and hook it up, why? I've no idea, smells of BS to me, just another way to make more money from me, or you. On top of that, the cost for 4K keep adding up. My Netflix went up 50% from $8 to $12, that a big increase. My internet service sent me an email saying I'm over 80% alloted bandwidth and at $10 more a month I'll get what I need, minimum that is, probably more. So, yearly, it's about $180 to enjoy your 4K tv programming, plus the $50 to have directv set you up. This isn't Samsungs fault, but nobody mentions this and that what I am doing. I will say, a couple things I watched in 4K blew me away, not all however. The problem is this, without spending the extra $120 a year for increasing bandwidth, the $50 for DTV and $48 more a year for NF isn't going to be worth it. I got the promo for the soundbar, and the 1T WD Hard Drive, I also used price match and personally got lucky, when they lowered price they did away with the sound bar promo, so kudo's to BB for honoring the price match. For those who naysay the curve. There are all kinds of people, and always be the ones who don't take to new tech. To those ppl I say blah blah blah, save it. For one, once installed and watched, like others have said, it's natural and not even noticed after a while, it's a slight curve and just about perfect really. My first blu-ray watched even though I've had one for a couple years was this tv, and whoa! It's superb on this set. All of my devices worked and sync'd right away without any problems first try, as did the TV with my wifi, painfully easy. I am not happy with the remote, if I could I'd give this set a 4.5 stars

I purchased the 55 inch version of the 9000 series, brought it back thinking that the 7500 series would be the same quality....I WAS WRONG. I regret getting the 7500 model. Don't get me wrong, it has a nice picture to it, but not as good as the SUHD 9000. I can honestly tell a difference in the picture and how clear it is. If you are going to spend good money on a TV, make sure you do your homework first.

Our home is full of natural light and this was a high concern of mine when purchasing this as a Christmas present for my husband. My best buy did not carry this in normal stock and had to have it shipped to store so seeing it prior to purchase was not an option. Below are the pros and cons that we have come to find though. Pros: Bright contrast in color Picture from many angles in the room Curve does not appear when looking at television from straight on Smart feature allows for automatic contrast Cons: Sound does not go as high as previous Samsung Model that we placed in sons room. Had to turn off Smart feature for color contrast due to natural light in room. Only came with one pair of 3-d glasses

Spent a number of weeks debating between this Samsung model, the JS8500 series, and Sony XBR 930C. Ultimately after reading about the spec differences and looking at features and pictures this was the right choice for me. One connect is huge it eliminates me running a number of wires down the wall behind the tv or having a pricey install to run the wires behind the dry wall. Playstation 4 games and streaming movies is awesome. I have this in a finished basement without sunlight entering the room which is ideal. I got the impression from the amount of reflection having this in a room with a lot of sunlight can impact how well you can see the picture.

Good display, still some edge light issues

This is one of the best TVs out there. The image quality is fantastic for most viewing scenarios. The quality of the image is much improved over 2012 models. Much deeper color and depth. Things look very real. Movies are more intense and sports feel more engaging. However, in a dark room you can still see some flashlighting and clouding. On my TV this is most visible in the left corners and only when most of the screen is showing black content. The amount of this defect is less than the previous 2012 edge lit TV I owned. It's worth noting that the next step up JS9500 costs $1500 more and shows similar clouding and even greater grey screen uniformity defects. I'd give this TV a B for uniformity in careful dark room dark screen testing. Only OLED TVs would score an A. A full array backlit might score a B+, but I evaluated those and found they also suffer clouding and uniformity issues. So all in all, this is probably the best bang for the buck in 65" size. I looked at a lot of screens and read many technical reviews. Overall I find this TV to be brilliant for 98% of viewing scenarios. I am satisfied so far. The worst thing? Minus one star for this. This TV comes pre-loaded with the M-Go app which Samsung heavily advertises as a source to purchase UHD and HDR content. But here's the kicker, according to Samsung support M-Go is not compatible with 2015 model year TVs. If you purchase the UHD Video Pack, you are lead to believe that you can then use the M-Go app to purchase and download UHD/HDR moves. The UHD video pack plays preloaded content just fine, but when you attempt to buy an UHD title from M-Go app, you get an error message that the UHD video pack is not compatible. I contacted Samsung and M-Go support. Samsung says that M-Go is not compatible with 2015 model UHD TVs and UHD Video Pack. M-Go says it is problem that Samsung is working to fix. So, you get this preloaded M-Go app and lots of ads saying you can use M-Go to buy UHD and HDR movies. But it's not true, Samsung says you cannot and shows no intent to fix this when contacting support. Not a great customer experience. The curved screen is definitely a drawback. It makes no difference to viewing quality. In fact it looks flat when you step 8 feet back. The problem is that any wall or ceiling light reflection gets elongated the full width of the curved screen. So instead of having a single round reflection in one spot, you have a distracting line across the entire width of the screen. I was able to resolve this my tilting the mount adapter downwards a few degrees. But if you have windows or lights in the reflection zone, and you can't swivel angle down a bit, you want to avoid curved TVs. The screen is fairly reflective compared to my previous screen that was more matte-like. Notes -The One Connect Box is huge, bright silver, and gets hot and a bit noisy. You'd be best to keep it behind your media center or out of sight somehow after you get everything setup. -The TV is almost always very responsive. The menus can momentarily pause once in a while but not usually. -Aside from M-Go, the apps are decent and you have good selection of content. HDR is only currently offered with Amazon in-house TV shows which you can stream and watch for free. I watched parts of a few of these really boring shows and never could identify an HDR effect. -Calibrating and setting various settings on this TV is faster and easier than any other I have owned. The mouse pointer style remote is easy to master in a hour or two. It makes typing in email address and passwords really quick and easy. - The stand is bright silver and large and ugly on my media stand which is otherwise all black. I ditched the stand and mounted the TV easily using an articulating AEON mount purchased elsewhere. It looks fantastic mounted. No issues with the curve but you'll want to buy some extra M8 bolt size spacers to get everything just snug, or maybe try different 16 to 25mm bolts with 1.25 threading. You absolutely need a second person to lift the TV onto the mount though. My wimpy wife helped with ease.

Hi guys ,just giving my 2 cents worth. I have owned this T.V for 4 months now . It has become my most prized possession. Not only me , but friends and family are wowed by this unit .Pricey ...But worth every penny and then some .Hint of advice . Purchase the 2015 Samsung curved sound bar with it . and you don't need a mounting kit for the sound bar if putting it on the wall. Who needs Theatres these days?
