Disappointment

I have purchased several Samsung products over the years and have never, EVER, had a single problem with any of them, so with the TV I did not purchase the extended warranty. BIG MISTAKE! After only 15 months the TV has a horizontal line down the middle and I'm told it will cost $1700 to replace the broken screen. I can't help but wonder how long a screen replacement would last. Another 15 months? Even with an extended warranty, will the screen need to be replaced every 15 months or so? What about when the extended warranty of over? This purchase was a VERY EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT.
