I have to say this TV is absolutely beautiful and stunning. It's large.. its thin.. and its sleek. but my only gripe is that the 4k upscaling just looks wayyy too "noisy". If you are a photographer like me, you understand as if the picture is set to 25600 ISO. Lots of grain, loss of detail as a result (I feel like its overcompensating for sharpening) Messing with settings helps a very tiny bit, but still I think that out of the box, it should be a great picture when you spend over $2k for a TV.

I LOVE this television! My roommate and I are gamers and movie lovers and this television works great for both. There is so much more depth to a curved screen than there is with a traditional flat screen. I would highly encourage you to buy a soundbar and subwoofer to go with it though, as the TV by itself doesn't have the greatest bass tones to it. I have mine paired with the Samsung 4.1 curved soundbar and subwoofer and I am incredibly pleased with it.

The TV has a great picture and set up is very simple. I had prior to this a un65hu9000 and the STAND ON THIS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AS GOOD. LOOKS VERY CHEAP. Needs a better stand for this amount of money!!!!!!!!!

its fast, hardly any noticeable lag when going between apps channels inputs. it starts up super fast. for video games, it is glorious! I have an xb1 and wiiu on it, both work superbly. sound bar digitial in to it and the 4 hdmi inputs make it able to handle a lot. totally recommend it, wait til its on sale in the $1500s though, it will make you feel better about dropping that cash!

My husband and I bought this tv because we wanted a bigger screen. He was determined to purchase a curved screen but I was against it because I figured it would be a "fad". Well fad or not, I'm glad we purchased it because you do not lose quality of the program no matter what angle you are sitting.

This TV is amazing! The picture quality is beyond all my expectations. The menus are easy to navigate. The TV is loaded with easy to use feature rich apps. I would totally recommend purchasing. It's worth every penny paid. I play the XBOX One S and PS4 Pro. Both look outstanding with the HDR turned on. The games come to life in a whole new dimension of color range.

Didn't think the curve would make a difference to my viewing experience but it actually does. Not a major difference but it does feel slightly more immersive.

inferior to samsung ks8500 in all but price

Review for the layman, as I am not a TV aficionado. I purchased this after first purchasing the Samsung KS8500, which is the "competitor" in the market. I returned the Samsung bec/ of a defect (some stuck and pixels, brand new out of the box, go figure). I thought I would try to save $200 by going with the Sony after the sales guy swore by the Sony and reading the reviews. All the reviews said the Samsung was better, but I liked the display in the store. Anyway, I brought home the Sony and was disappointed in the picture. Compared to the Samsung, the colors are nowhere near as bright and the upscaler was inferior by far. Regarding the upscaler, I watched Gladiator in old HD and, on the Samsung, it looked amazing; it looked like you were there. On the Sony, the picture was very grainy. Not even close to comparable between the two brands. Additionally, what I believe was a result of the fact that the Sony does not have local dimming, anytime something bright would come on the screen during an otherwise dark screen (e.g., subtitles or a campfire while the screen is mostly black), the entire screen would brighten up. This gets incredibly distracting and downright annoying. I was shocked. If you don't believe me, I took a video of it and I can post it if need be. I was very disappointed in the Sony. I returned it as soon as I could. Now maybe the TV is good compared to other TVs out there (I wouldn't know), but compared to the Samsung, there is no competition. The Samsung blows it out of the water. Sorry, Sony.

    Great so far

This TV has been awesome so far. Two things kept my review from being five stars: Had an issue with the one connect during initial setup... called Samsung and they insisted it was the remote and wanted to send a new one... it was not the remote, it was the cable of the one connect. Only had this tv for 3 days... I had the issue with the set up and I have not owned the TV for long enough to give 5 stars. Ask me again a year from now and if we have no additional problems I would give this TV 5 stars.

I bought this TV when it was offered with good discount ($800). It's been two weeks that I have it and I absolutely love it! Only the voice command on remote control does not work properly, other than that it's a great curved TV.

I went in to buy last year's model but even on sale it was $200 more than the newer model. So I switched. Bad choice. The picture quality is pretty bad, surprisingly bad even. This is my fourth Samsung over the years, and is my first bad experience. The most noticeable issue right away is the terrible performance with dark scenes. I set it up with no problem - 10 minutes from box to watching a movie. I put on Game of Thrones (HBO, HD). My wife asked "what's wrong? that looks like low def". And she's not a critical viewer of HD programming. The dark backgrounds, dark clothing... looked like smudged grey paint. Terrible. I checked video settings, made a few minor adjustments, but nothing changed the terrible looking blacks. I switched to Hunger Games, also HD. Same issue. Others have commented about similar issues on the non-curved version of this model. Not sure what Samsung changed, but it's not good. Bright programming looks fantastic. Looks like the demo in the store. But that's the only positive. Otherwise, this model under-performs my 55" 6-year old Samsung LED by a big margin. For that alone, it's going back. Other issues that are less critical... The chrome bezel is a bad choice for a curved screen. Since the right part of the screen is more or less facing the left side somewhat, the chrome trim on one side reflects light from the opposite side of the TV. Kind of a mirror effect. It was annoying on every show, but particularly bad during bright scenes with a lot of action/movement. It's not as bad if you're sitting directly in front of the TV, but standing in the kitchen and just about any other viewing position... it's noticeable and difficult to ignore. A matte finish or black bezel would be much better. This probably isn't a problem for the flat version of this model, but very noticeable on the curved model. Also, not a design flaw, just something to be aware of with curved screens... they tend to reflect more ambient light from windows and lamps. With a straight screen, you mostly get reflections from anything directly opposite the TV. With the curve, you get reflections from a larger field of view in the room. Windows on a wall that runs perpendicular to the TV, that were never reflected on my flat/straight screen, are now reflected on the side of the TV that curves towards those windows. Overall, the curve is a cool design element, but doesn't add much to the viewing experience, and has some significant drawbacks depending on your room configuration. Would love one in a theatre room, but not a family room.
