Clear Picture and Feature Rich
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was ready to upgrade my living room television with a newer 4K set and with only two HDMI devices, an Apple TV and Xbox One X, this one seemed to fit my needs. I use the built-in apps on my Apple TV for most streaming services, such as Netflix. My Xbox One X is used primarily for gaming and as a Blu-ray player! Unpacking the TV, you’ll find the manual, warranty information, a remote with batteries, the power cord, the snap on legs, two leg clips for wire management, and a quick start/setup guide. The included legs can be installed without any tools (no screwdriver needed) and are straight forward to install. The legs simply snap them in place, while viewing the rear of the TV, and once installed you’re ready to place it on a TV stand. You can ignore this step if you’re ready to mount this to the wall. The wire clips are used for wire management, allowing you to clip the cables down the back of the legs on the TV, but aren’t required. This made for a clean setup once I placed it on my stand and connected my HDMI devices. Prior to setup, I downloaded the newest available firmware from Samsung's Support page and using a USB drive for installation. The update file was approximately 2 GB’s in size, and with the USB drive installation was effortless. I did notice after the firmware install that I experienced a weird issue with network settings no longer trying to get an IP address from my router over LAN or Wi-Fi. Thankfully, Samsung has a “Reset Network” option in the settings menu (Settings>Network>Reset Network), which resolved it quickly and hasn’t been an issue since. I often use my Apple TV’s built in Spectrum App or the HDHomeRun Prime app on my Xbox for cable TV viewing, which is ideal. Hooking up Antenna, the TV quickly scanned and discovered every available OTA channel in my area. The built-in channel tuner is quick, and immediately displayed the intended channel in clear HD (for those channels in HD). I was also excited to find out that the Samsung TV supported automatic “Game Mode” switching by the Xbox One X game console. My Xbox was able to immediately identify the feature, prompted me how to turn it on, and it only enabled when a game session is started. Gaming on the TV is great, with no noticeable lag in Game Mode, and automatic HDR10 enabling when starting up a game. For the times when you’re just streaming, the TV doesn’t enable game mode, preserving the picture quality (have it set to Dynamic) for video streaming. The picture quality for gaming was significantly better than my previous TV and the backlight was much nicer with no noticeable squares of bright light in darker images. I was genuinely surprised by how clear and sharp the picture is, considering this isn’t their top tier television. This feels like a great step forward for lower cost TV’s, and easily bests some other brands in this price range. While this TV lacks Dolby Vision, HDR10 provides great quality picture on the built-in apps (which stream at 4K) and when using external HDMI devices that support it. I was also surprised to see that there was an Apple TV app, which allowed me to use Apple TV Plus and view my movie library without the need for my Apple TV. The first thing I did do was disable the Image Plus option, on the TV, for my Apple TV; as I found that the colors were a bit more washed out. With the Edge lit backlighting, you’ll notice just how clear the pictures are between bright and darker images on the panel. I was impressed with the lack of bleeding between black and white contrast images, and the smooth motion displayed minimal or no motion blur during my viewing. You can also adjust judder (set mine to 3), LED Clear Motion, and Noise reduction, but I found this wasn’t necessary for most content viewing. I recommend trying out the various picture settings to find your ideal viewing preference. For under $600, this TV easily bested my previous $1000 TV from another brand, and the backlight didn’t appear to wash out the image. I also didn’t see any “screen dooring” effect of the panel, and the colors were really VIVID! There are also various ECO settings, such as ambient light detection which modifies the brightness based on the lighting in your viewing area. Things to consider: If you have more than two HDMI devices, I’d recommend an HDMI switch or using an AVR/Soundbar that supports HDMI switching. If you’re looking for Dolby Vision, this TV won’t support it, but it does support HDR10 (which is great) or HLG (another HDR variant). In my case, I simply use the Optical connection for my soundbar, so this wasn’t an issue for me. Keep in mind if you’re using optical connection for sound, you may need to adjust the picture delay to match up to the audio. This isn’t an issue with the TV, but more a latency like effect of SPDIF with some soundbars. The default was set to 100, and I simply had to adjust this up to 120 to match my Bose Soundbar, but when swapped with an HDMI AVR this wasn’t an issue. Apple Airplay was easy to use and didn’t experience any disconnects during screensharing. If you’re not seeing this as a feature, simply update the TV (which I highly recommend). The Smart Apps are easy to install, and with a wide variety of them you’re bound to find the right streaming service available. The Samsung TVPlus offers some free stream viewing of various programs, which is a bonus for those who don’t want to necessarily pay for a streaming service and didn’t require any sign up (even if you skip the SmartThings app setup). The Netflix and Prime Video buttons on the remote launch the appropriate app when installed on the TV and seemed to provide a clearer picture than my Apple TV. If you’d like, you can also setup the TV with the SmartThings app. Once you’re signed in, simply add a device, select TV, set a location (home), and select the TV model when it’s displayed on the selection menu. For easier setup, I’d recommend both your phone and TV be on the same network, and this be done from the start. I performed the step only after already skipping it initially, and I ran into a weird issue with the app hanging on the registration and crashing. This necessitated me resetting the TV and starting setup all over again when the app crashed and then told me it was already registered to another account (even though it wasn’t). However, this isn’t required to use the TV, but does make controlling the TV a bit easier with the app. I setup my 3rd party remote to control all my devices and source inputs with my AVR. Although, the Samsung remote can be easily used to control all devices using CEC and with minimal setup required. For source switching on the TV, it requires you to scroll left or right on a menu and doesn’t have a simple HDMI toggle button on the remote. This is to ensure you’re able to view all sources available on your TV and your network. I was also surprised to see this supported Alexa and Google Home. However, I kept getting an error when trying to enable this using SmartThings account with the Alexa skill. It took a few attempts to it to finally link successfully, so I recommend just trying until it works. In my case, the skill was able to login successfully, but would fail after device selection (a dropdown menu). It finally linked successfully on the 6th attempt, and was easy to finish setup in the Alexa app. Overall, for the price and stepped up high quality of the picture, I’d recommend this for those with fewer needs for HDMI connections or those using an AVR or HDMI switch for more than 2 devices. The Smart TV features make this easy to find most popular streaming services, using Apple Airplay, all without the need for an external streaming device; plus offering 4K streaming without any issues. This is a great entry to mid-level TV and feels designed for gaming; using the automated Game Mode for lag free gaming.

Buy another if you can afford it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stayed with the TV for 4 weeks to really get a true feel for it. It was okay for gaming. Netflix and other apps; not so well. I had to reboot the TV constantly maybe 3 times a week. Decided it wasnt worth the struggle. Returned it and got a different model.

Posted .Hi FAIRJACK,
Thank you for purchasing the TU7000 and for your review. We appreciate you sharing your experience when connecting your Bluetooth devices to the TV. You can connect Bluetooth audio devices to the TV. They must be paired using the TV's Bluetooth function. Go to: Settings > Sound > Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List
- If the TV fails to find a Bluetooth audio device, place the device closer to the TV, and then select Refresh.
- When you turn on a paired Bluetooth audio device, the TV detects it automatically, and then displays a pop-up window. Use this pop-up window to activate or deactivate the Bluetooth audio device.
You may want to check the Connection Guide for detailed information regarding connecting your speakers. Go to Source > Connection Guide > Audio Device > Bluetooth.
You can install, delete, and update apps to suit your preferences. From the TV's Home screen, navigate to and select APPS, and then select the Search icon in the top-right corner. Next, enter the app you want to download and select it. You will see detailed information about the app. From here, select Install.

installation of flat screen TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung TV I bought is fine. The sales person told me Geek Squad would be able to do full installation but they were only able to install the wall mount, not the electrical or cable wire installation behind the wall. Overall I would give a B minus or C plus.
