Broke after 4 months and Samsung doesn't have part

I purchased this TV from BB online in August 2020. The TV stopped working prior to Christmas. I worked with Samsung's customer service to get the parts ordered and have a technician come to my home for repairs. I was finally told by the Samsung representative that they do not have the parts for the repairs, and that he sees this malfunction a lot in this tv model. I was given a store credit to get a replacement tv but still waiting on it. I purchased two of these tv's and the 2nd tv is now starting to malfunction, it won't allow connectivity to my computer or phone for screen sharing. It's slow and clunky. I am shocked as I thought Samsung was a better brand but my replacement will be an LG or a TCL. Don't waste your money these are not worth it.

Thank you for your review of the Samsung TU7000 TV. I am very sorry that you experienced issues with your first unit and are going through the experience of replacing it.

For your second unit, you may want to check that you are running the most recent firmware update (1420.0 released on 1/5/21). Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically.

You may also want to enable automatic updates for future convenience.
Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

You may also want to optimize the smart TV performance, by running the Device Care option under the Support Menu.
Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care
This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps.

Purchased the Television for my father as a Fathers Day gift. It was delivered and everything looked great for about 10 minutes until the television started to make a flickering noise and at times would turn off on its own. I read the reviews on the television and everything in me told me to just upgrade to a higher model, but I decided to give it a chance. I’ve owned Samsung TVs before and I’ve never had an issue. They are reliable in my opinion, but this one was not and I had to return it. I’m giving it a second chance and if this one gives us issues I will be returning it as well and just upgrading. In my opinion it seems to be a processor issue. It would also lag as well. I’ll post later how the new one is working out. Thanks and I wish everyone the best and to be safe during these times.

If your TV appears to turn off by itself, try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions.

See if Sleep Timer has been enabled. The Sleep Timer automatically turns the TV off after a specific period of time.

      - Settings > General > System Manager > Time > Sleep Timer
If the Sleep Timer has not been enabled, see if Auto Power Off or Off Timer has been enabled and disable it.
      - Settings > General > Eco Solution > Auto Power Off
      - Settings > General > System Manager > Time > Off Timer

As for your issue with flickering, please try Device Care option under the Support Menu.

Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care.

If the issues persist, please contact our Customer Support via any of the following:

      RivGA:

Thank you for purchasing the TU7000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try Dynamic Picture Mode, or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.

Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic

Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Go to: Settings> Picture> Expert Settings

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection

I hope this helps to improve your picture. Should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

      Hi MartinS,

We appreciate your review of the TU7000 TV's image quality. I have a few tips that may resolve the dimming issue you are experiencing.

You can change the dimming feature of your TU7000 TV by adjusting some of the energy efficiency features designed to reduce power consumption. The Eco sensor automatically adjusts the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level. If the Eco Sensor has adjusted the screen’s brightness level, you can select Min. Backlight to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. You can also disable these features for a steady brightness setting.

You can adjust Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, Motion Lighting, or Contrast Enhancer by going to Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving > and adjusting the Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting.

You can also go to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Contrast Enhancer to adjust contrast manually.

For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
