      Nogood:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU7000 TV. From your description of "cutting off and on", it sound like perhaps an issue with power cycling issue where your TV is turning itself on and off repeatedly.

Please try a few trouble-shooting steps that may help solve the issue:

      1) Check the power cable for damage and proper connection.

      2) If the cable is bent, broken, kinked, pinched, pressed excessively (possibly by a heavy object on top of it) or damaged, this is likely the cause of the issue. Replace the cable.

      3) Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

      4) If the power cycling allows enough time in between powering on and off, try updating the TV to the latest firmware. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV. Updates can take up to 30 minutes depending on network speed, so if the TV is not turning off too frequently, try updating the software.

      5) TVs which can connect to SmartThings can be turned on using compatible devices, sometimes automatically. However, if abnormal "power on" signals are sent through the wireless network, they will trigger this function and make the TV turn on. If you do not want this function, navigate to
Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile, and turn the setting off.

If the issue persists after these steps, then the TV will need service.

Please contact us so that we can better investigate your issue and assist you towards a solution or replacement.

      Picky1:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU7000 and for your review. I am very sorry images may seem washed out during dark scenes. Samsung is aware of the problem, and a new firmware update will be released soon to address this issue.

Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit.

You may want to enable automatic updates for conveniences.
Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

If you would like to update your software using USB, please check for the latest version at: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/crystal-uhd-tvs-tu7000-2020

The backlight will not stop flickering. Its honestly the most annoying thing ever. Started nearly as soon as I got it. So spent time getting new hdmi cables to make sure it wasn't anything on my end and it started again. It will even do it when using the smart TV Netflix and what not. I've tried to contact best buy multiple times and they just seem to love leaving me on hold or not calling me back when I request it.

We bought this tv for ourselves after handing our two year old tv down to our 14 year old son. The picture is outstanding for a tv in this price range! We can’t stop talking about how good the picture is! The only complaint is the remote control. It’s really clunky and not as easy to navigate as our previous remote. It looks and feels like a remote from 15 years ago. Lol! The tv is definitely worth that minor annoyance though.

      Hi SAMSUNG,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU7000 TV and for your review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the memory issue you are experiencing with your unit.

If you are seeing an error saying, “memory full”, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

      1) Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care
This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps.

      2) Remove apps you no longer need. From the Home screen, go to Apps > Settings > delete your apps from here

      3) Please check to see if you are running the latest firmware version by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.

You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience.

I hope these tips help. If you need further assistance in programming your remote or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or text HELP to 62913.

This went on for about a week and I did some research online and it turns out that this is a well known problem with some smart tv models and Samsung is aware of the problem but there is no permanent fix just work arounds that don’t address the problem and this is why I returned the tv.

The picture and sound are very good. There is a game mode, highly recommended for any console gamers. The remote has a standard Samsung remote feel, if you have ever had a Samsung TV before it will be familiar. Tizen (TV OS) takes some getting use to. I am still very clumsy going through the menus. The app selection is quite good and has most of the apps I use for streaming available in the store. It is not as clean of an interface as other streaming products but it does handle opening channels inside other apps very well. Oddly, the one app I could not find was MoviesAnywhere. A few recommendations: - First thing you should do is update the firmware. There was a definitive lag until I updated the firmware. - Set up Smart Things app on your phone, much easier setup than using the remote. - IF you have any network issues connecting to Wi-Fi, unplug the power cord from the TV for approximately 30 seconds to a minute and restore power. Just powering off via the remote will not reset the interface. Some final observations: Tizen has a lot of functionality and seems like it has the potential to be a solid OS for appliances. It can get frustrating because it seems like it works opposite to other menu driven smart appliance and streaming device menus. Right now it is not as intuitive as I would have expected. A bit of praise for Tizen, it identified everything I tried plugging in with no problems at all. It also controls the power of the attached devices. The remote is smart enough to work with streaming devices and game consoles that are plugged in without programming it. It really messed with me at first. The TV and design are top notch. Putting the legs on could not have been easier. One item I found odd was the length of the power cord. There are cable management clips included and cable guides on the back of the TV. But using the guides and clips may make the power cord too short. I have had to reset the power twice to correct issues with Wi-Fi. Not a big drawback but if you can run a network cable to it, I would recommend that. So far the ambient light sensor seems to be working like it does on a cell phone. When the room is dark the screen is not too bright. Overall this is a really great TV with only minor drawbacks. Even though Tizen has frustrated me so far, I can see it is going to be a really good OS as the features are improved. I would recommend this TV to anyone especially if you are in the Smart Things camp for managing your home. You can also control with other assistant technologies from the 3 major players.

Horrible TV. The brightness is horrible. Tried adjusting it. Really hard to see pictures on movies based on dark or night time scenes. Been buying from Best Buy for over 20 years. Bought many TVs by far the worst purchase. Don’t trust the reviews. Going to take back and Jerry something else.

      Hi PantherFan13,

I’m sorry to hear you’re not fully satisfied with the TU7000 TV’s picture quality. Please know we are here to help you.

If the image is too dim, try adjusting Picture Mode, Contrast, Brightness, or Sharpness settings.

To utilize Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments; go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic

To manually adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and more, press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings.

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV: Settings > Support > Software Update.

I hope this helps to improve your picture. Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
