This is not my first 4k tv, but I for sure love the picture. A couple of things you need before you try to set this up. make sure you have a TV stand with more than 55" to put the TV download the SmartThings app know your WiFi password (this will work on 5Ghz!) I put this on my guest network which I do for all smart devices. this does have the ability to hard wire. Best Buy delivery people were pretty amazing, could not cross the threshold of the of my house but helped me get it in. This went in my living room. it is a 65inch TV. but you need about 55" on your TV stand to accommodate the legs. You need 2 people to move this around, yes you may be string but don't hurt the screen. i had tried to do the setup of the TV with the SmartThings app, for some reason the app would not talk to my WiFi. so went with the remote. make sure you run the firmware update, and also check the Samsung website (v1082 thru the app and 1083 thru the website). on startup the TV defaults to the channels.. They have CBS ( no other channels) and some odd channels and does have Vevo music. The only app you could sign on at startup was Amazon Prime, it didn't work but at least I was offered. I took off a lot of the default home apps (such as Hulu that your cant delete just remove it from the app screen) but I was able to add Spectrum, Plex, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The picture quality was very good. I played Bumblebee on Amazon Prime (4k)and Ready Player One (4k HDR) from Vudu and the picture was very good. the was some pixelization The black was very dark and not that grayish black you see a lot. Cons: The app is not very user friendly. There are some really great ones Samsung could look into. Look for the leader in streaming OS and see theirs. You can not customize the interface (would love to make my own shortcuts with labels0, no private listening option, no quick load of apps, a virtual keyboard on the app would be awesome. I am running on WiFi 5GHz about 2 feet from my router. Still drops pretty often. The app load is buggy and slow. Spectrum app cant authenticate every time. You have to turn off the TV and back on a few times. You have to do this soft power cycle pretty slow or the TV cant figure out what you want to just defaults to staying off. Tried Google. I added the TV to Google home. This locked the TV could not turn the TV by remote. Unplugged the TV, remote worked. So, took it off google home till I can do some more research. Plex is an available App, so YA!. Playing HD content worked great. My 4k/HDR content was not good. the TV CPU cant transcode the movies. Ill have to do more research to fix that. Plugging in my computer directly to the TV by HDMI was a gray screen no idea why. More research. There are only 2 HDMI. I dot really need my world leading media streaming device as much for this TV. But there is no HDMI ARC which is a huge downer. You REALLY need external audio. The speaker is in the back so if you are way in front of the tv you can hear just fine (or sounds really good if you are in a room behind the TV thru a wall) then its super quiet Most of my cons are software issues that Samsung could easily fix with updates. If you need a entry level 4K tv, with Samsung quality try this TV

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TU7000 TV. I am sorry that you are experiencing some glitching issues.

To optimize the smart TV performance, please try Device Care option under the Support Menu. Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care

This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps.

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings>Support>Software Update. (ver. 1410.1 released on 11/4/20)

Both the current version and new version number will be displayed. The current version is what your TV is using and the new version is the latest update.

New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit.

You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience by selecting > Auto Update.

at the moment, the only things I can think of that I dont like about the tv. its that it only has 2 hdmi ports and 1 usb port. it does not have any audio jacks on it either. that said, at least for the hdmi you can get a box that you plug in your hdmi devices into. it also at times seems to lag a little when you would use the controller and lets say hit the arrow key over. at times it would take a few seconds which at times would doubt yourself if you pressed the button so you would press again and it would now move 2 over 2 spots. outside of those things, we love this tv. one of the nice things on it is that it supports apple airplay. so I was able to mirror my ipads, iphones with the tv. never had a Samsung tv so was nice to see that it had Samsung tv on it which has some tv channels. I don't watch to many things, it had a lot of apps and some more you could install think maybe a few that could not get. took a few min. to set up and once set up, easy to use. Samsung phone, the tv would auto display if you chose to mirror. ipad, had to get into the settings and set up. one thing I love about this compared to some other TVs that I have had or seen. the stand. it still has 2 feet on each end, wish it was more in the center so you can place on anything, but at least the feet go perpendicular to the tv. few tvs that I seen the feet are about the same distance in but instead of going perpendicular to tv, they tend to make a v shape with the tv and so the feet end up at the edge roughly where the tv is. so my last 65" inch tv, the feet where half a inch from the edge of the table stand I had. where this tv, I have plenty of room. sound is pretty good for being a tv. I did make sure to do an update. it also was set to auto update and this would make the tv take a while to turn on. can leave that on or just remind yourself to check once a week or so. so far, love the tv, again reminder if you have a tv and getting a new one, I do recommend this tv, but know that it only has 2 hdmi, (one is a ark) so you may need to also pick up a hdmi box that you can plug more hdmi cords into.

The tv went out after 17 days and Best Buy would not take the tv because it was beyond the 15 day return. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty. Geek squad made an assessment and order a piece that will take 2 weeks to arrive. I will see what happens as I am still waiting. I hope they can resolve the issue.

      Mike:

Thank you for your review of this Samsung TU7000 TV. I am very sorry to hear of the frustrations you experienced with updating firmware. You can update in three ways: through the internet, with a USB device, or automatically.

      1) Internet: On your TV, navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, and then select Update Now. If an update is available, it will automatically install, and the TV will restart automatically. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. If there is no update available, select OK to exit. Make note of the current version that is displayed on your TV screen to the right.

      2) Sometimes, new software versions will be available on Samsung.com before they are available in your TV's Support menu. The latest software version can be downloaded from the download center by selecting your TV's type and model. If the version on the website is a later version than the one displaying on your TV:
      a. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
      b. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
      c. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
      d. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.

      3) Automatically: You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. The TV updates automatically while you are watching.

Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

When the background update is completed, it is applied the next time the TV is turned on. If you agree to the Smart Hub terms and conditions, Auto Update is set to On automatically. If you want this function disabled, use the Select button to turn it off.

If you need further assistance or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support.
