It would be much preferred if it defaulted to my cable TV.

TV not as bright as I would like so caution if you plan on putting it in a bright room with lots of daytime sunlight. Overall happy with the purchase.

Streaming through this TV can be an issue

Picture displays in good quality but streaming wireless: it drops the connection often. Installed Roku to resolve the issues but it should be able to stream without Roku. It's little disappointing. My other TV that is 2 years older and 8 series model streams better than this TV. If you're using cable service you may not have a problem.
