Easy setup, but blacks not black enough. Budget TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy but this TV is definitely a budget TV. Returning it because it’s impossible to watch dark shows such as GOT even when in complete darkness. The TV does not have black enough blacks to watch.

Posted .Hi MisterCP,
Thank you for your review and feedback on the AU8000 TV. Please know we are here to help you. We recommend the following settings adjustments to improve your picture quality while watching darker scenes.
First, let's ensure you are running the latest Firmware. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update.
Next, I recommend using Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic.
Or you can manually adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and more. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings.
You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.
Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to adjust the minimum screen brightness manually. Go to Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

Posted .Hi CharlesS,
We appreciate your feedback regarding the sound delays you’re experiencing. It could possibly be a source issue, but if you’re hearing an audio delay across all sources/channels and you have a Home Theatre System or other speakers connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to increase the audio delay. Go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay.
Please know that our TVs do have a Pass-Through audio feature. This feature allows the audio signal to be sent out unprocessed to an external Soundbar or receiver connected to the TV. The external Soundbar or receiver then processes the audio, thereby eliminating the added step of processing by the TV, which adds delay.
On your TV, go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through
If you have tried this and your issue persists, please reach out to Samsung Customer Support so that we can provide further troubleshooting. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Posted .Hi Niko,
Thank you for purchasing the Samsung AU8000 TV and for sharing your experience with your TV not displaying correctly. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. If any external devices are connected, check all input cable connections
2. If the issue persists, define precisely what is wrong with the display. For example, mosaics and blocks, multiple lines or white dots, and fixed horizontal or vertical lines.
3. Try changing channels using the remote control. Is the issue the same on all media?
4. Press the Home button (which looks like a house), select Source, and choose another input source. Is the issue the same on all sources?
5. If the same problem persists, run a diagnostic test. (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test)
6. If the problem disappears during the test, check your TV signal (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information) to check the signal strength. For stable signal reception, the signal strength must be more than 20 dB (more than 4 bars on the icon).

Posted .Hi AlexT,
Thank you for purchasing the Samsung AU8000 TV. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing a power cycling issue where your TV turns on and off repeatedly.
Please try a few troubleshooting steps that may help solve the issue:
1) Check the power cable for damage and proper connection.
2) If the cable is bent, broken, kinked, pinched, pressed excessively (possibly by a heavy object on top), or damaged, this is likely the cause of the issue. Replace the cable.
3) Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
4) If the power cycling allows enough time in between powering on and off, try updating the TV to the latest firmware. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV.
If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Samsung UN65AU8000 65" Qled
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don't write reviews, but after having this TV for just under 7 months and no matter how I adjust the setting the picture is terrible. Our other Samsung TV"s are fine.

Posted .Hi JS200047,
I am very sorry you are experiencing issues with a distorted picture. The problem may be due to not connecting correctly with an external device. Please check your connection with these steps:
1. Disconnect and reconnect the power cables and HDMI cables on the back of your TV, then unplug the power cord and plug it back into the wall outlet
2. If the external device supports UHD video, use a dedicated HDMI cable (4K) for HDMI video playback.
3. If a component cable is used, make sure that the colored connectors are connected to the matching connectors on the external device and the TV.
4. Check the cable connection if you use a set-top box. The cable you need to check depends on the type of set-top box.
5. Make sure that your access point is connected to the Internet. If not, disconnecting and reconnecting its power cable may be required.
6. If the problem persists, check the video output settings in the settings menu of the external device, and ensure that your TV supports the video output mode.
The compression of video content may cause picture distortions, especially in fast-moving pictures from sports programs and action movies.
- If the signal reception is weak or poor, screen distortion may be visible, but it is not a malfunction.
- Mobile phones used close to the TV (within 3.2 ft) may cause noise on analog and digital channels.

Severe clouding and backlight bleed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned my Hisense for clouding/backlight bleed issues and bought this TV today. Again, out of the box, it has huge areas of clouding that are so noticeable that they are distracting when watching shows. Posted .Hi Tvproblem,
Thank you for your purchase and review of the AU8000 TV. Please know we are here to help you with your volume inconsistency issue.
One possible cause for this is the source. Some sources have their own volume control.
Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.
Next, we recommend you try a Sound Test under Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Sound Test. Another way to check the source volume is to test an internal streaming source like Netflix or YouTube to compare.
I hope this helps improve your audio experience. If you continue to have issues, please give us a chance to make this right. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
