It recognizes inputs as soon as they get powered up...i.e. Playstation, Apple TV etc. setting up to home network and more was extremely easy. However- I've learned that Best Buy puts the displayed higher end tvs broadcasting in 4K etc...to bring out the differences between a 3,000$ tv and a 1500$. Nothing on tv broadcasts that and neither do any of my play stations etc. so...I paid about double for what is realistically coming out of broadcast TV stations and bluerays.

The screen picks up reflections and flares from lights that are on in front of screen. I don't know whether the reflections are a product of the curved screen or the matte screen finish. The 4K videos look good and better than the video coming from the U-verse cable box. The picture quality is not a quantum leap forward from my 4 year old Samsung 1080p that it is replacing due to a defective control board. All this said, in the store, the picture quality was better than the other tvs in the $1700-$2000 price range. The sound is slightly better than average. I still use a sound bar with it or a home theater system depending on what we are watching.
