I waited for a long time to get a 4K television. This was the right one for me. The picture is outstanding and the non 4k media is upgraded very well. I like every feature on this tv starting with the one connect hookup. So easy to plug in the hdmi cables into the one connect bar and then connect it to the tv. No fuss, no muss. Watching Netflix and Hulu and Amazon Prime is exceptional with really great pictures. Direct tv cleans up the 108oi picture very well. I got this tv on sale at $1599 and the next week they dropped to $1499 and they gave me a $109 credit. Best value I've had on a HD TV. I've paid $3400, $2600 and $2000 for previous TV sets. This is the best TV I have ever owned.

    Disappointed

Purchased Samsung 65 inch 8000 series on Cyber Monday 2017. Was initially looking at Sony 900 series but went with Samsung because sales person convinced me the 8000 series had equivalent picture to the Sony 900 along with better price. Picture was descent on the Samsung but felt it was only a small step up from my 5 year old Vizio. The blacks are terrible on this tv. A lot of pixelated areas and not as bright as it looked in store. Did more research and found a few sites stating exactly what I was seeing with the dark and black colors. Returned on Wednesday of same week and paid $200 difference to get the Sony XBR65X900E and wow what a difference. Sony was brighter, more vivid and picture quality was so much better than the Samsung 8000. First Samsung TV ever purchased and needless to say will probably be my last. Was very disappointed in the picture quality.

I spent hours researching tv's online, reviews etc... and it came down to this one or the LG 65UJ6300, I went with this one, I based my purchase of reviews, price and what the tv had to offer. Easy set up, love the one connect, makes it so much easier to plug and play. Picture is beautiful once you adjust it to what you like, or like me I searched google for best settings for this model. I had a previous Samsung and loved that tv as well, so I went with the same brand that I know and trust. Don't listen to some of the negative reviews, sometimes it's user error, READ and REREAD the directions it comes with, you will not be dissapointed!

My father and I were looking for a new tv to be placed in a guest room he was staying in. We knew we wanted it to be rather wide and possess smart features. We scoured the store and decided on this one. We set it up, and even though his bedroom is usable again I find him in this room more. The quality is great and we have had no issues with the smart functions yet, unlike many of the other reviews. It was a great purchase and I heavily recommend it to other buyers in the tv market.

Loved the size and the quality of it. Never had any issues with the TV (bought in 2017). Only looking for a new one because of a storm surge that knocked out the TV and it no longer works. I’m looking to by the same TV

The was the best purchase I made all year. It had all the app I use already on it. Great picture, great sounds, and simple controls. Easy to set up other devices too. Just make sure you read the instructions first It can be a pain to set up if you do not and after you mount the TV. on the wall :) Best purchase I made this year!

I’ve had this TV for seven years and it’s been amazing. It probably would’ve lasted longer Except my son Accidentally hit the TV with one of his hot wheels and it put a huge black line down the center. Other than that loved it.

We purchased and installed the tv yesterday. Everything worked seemlessly. Great picture! Sound without the sound bar is ok for now but might add the sound bar later. The only complaint, which we've seen on other comments, is how short the power cord is. Is there any guidance on how to find a genuine Samsung power cord that is longer that will work with this unit?

This was my first 4K purchase and I was overly satisfied! This is an extremely high quality display, the best that I have ever seen! The design is a simple, elegant masterpiece! So elegant that I upgraded my entertainment center just to match the quality of the TV. I purchased a PS4 Pro along with this TV and it has vastly improved my gaming. I recently purchased another one, that's how amazing it is! After owning this product for 5 months, I am still amazed at how beautiful it is.

    Not impressed

Initially I was impressed with the TV, but now that I've had it for a week, I can not recommend this TV to any of my friends and here's why. First off the pros: • The picture does look good/great, but this can vary drastically as with any TV based on the source. • The packaging and the overall design of the set is nice. The cons: • HDR is not impressive AT ALL. I paid extra because I wanted an HDR set. All I ever read is how great HDR is, but I can't even tell you when it is running. I finally noticed if you go to the settings menu and look at the picture source when it is playing HDR there is a little HDR next to it. I read on line the older sets use to give you a pop up notice letting you know it is displaying HDR. The simulated HDR+ button it has makes the image look worse, not better in my opinion. • This TV doesn't work well with a Harmony remote. I own a very expensive Harmony Elite remote and I have to use the included TV remote with this TV to access its smart features and apps. I have several Roku TVs and I can set up scenes to run netflix and such, but not with this one. • The APPs suck. This is not an Android OS, it is Samsung's OS and the support and variety of APPs are limited. This is probably one of my biggest complaints. For instance, although Sling.com is available on this TV, they have yet to integrate their DVR functionality into the Samsung APP. The first APP I downloaded doesn't even work. It just freezes every time I open it. I tried deleting it and reinstalling, but no luck. • The one connect is flawed in design. Although a great idea, it is not clear how to set it up to work properly with a surround sound system. My old TV had all my components going through the surround sound receiver and then a single HDMI to my TV. You can't do that with this because then your sound will only play what input your receiver is set to, not what APP you run on the TV. For instance, you are watching TV, but then decide to turn on Netflix. Well if you set it up the traditional way, you will hear the TV sound and not Netflix although the screen is displaying Netflix. But, if you go through the one connect the TV doesn't automatically switch between surround sound decoders. I rented a Blu-ray disk that only had DTS sound and it wasn't playing in surround sound. I had to dig through the menus in the TV to figure out what was wrong. It turns out I had to manually switch it to output DTS instead of Doby Digital. This brings me to my next complaint: • The instructions or lack of in this case is BY FAR THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN. You would think setting up a TV is simple, but not with this one. There is no clear understanding of how to get the most out of this TV. My earlier complaint about the one connect and surround sound may not be valid because I may not have it set up right, but I have no idea. I found a e-maual on the TV, but it is a joke. You go to look up how to hook up the set and it simply says, plug an HDMI into an HDMI. Nothing about how you have to change the color to turn on HDR, nothing about how to get it to play in surround sound properly. •The remote is limited, too limited. It took me two days to figure out how to not just pause a movie, but to stop a movie. Also, it can't control my volume because I have it outputted to a receiver. •The stand is cheap. It comes off and hides the cords, which I thought was a great idea, but it doesn't stay on with the cords in it. It is as if it is broke. I had to use tape, yes tape to keep it on. •No smart things hub. I thought all the newer sets were getting smart things hubs, but this doesn't even have the app on it. I haven't checked to see if my current hub will integrate with it at all yet, but I didn't see a STs app in the store. If all you want is a good looking picture, this set may be for you if you get it on sale, but honestly I wasn't too impressed with the HDR. I think you can save more by skipping it. If on the other hand you want a comprehensive SMART TV that is up to date with its APPs and features, you should skip this TV.
