    wanted to love it

    This 1 star rating is based on one sad, sad feature of this television I didn't realize until I brought it home and hooked it up. Please let it be known, that without this one item this review probably would've been a five-star. When I saw this slim, sexy television in the Best Buy showroom I thought perfect this is the one for me, I'll buy it! When I got home, I hung it on the wall and eagerly pressed the power button on the remote. When the TV powered on, it said I didn't have the "one connect" hooked up. For those of you who don't know,"one connect" is Samsung's solution to not having any HDMI ports located on the back of the television. Instead they give you a thick gray bulky wire, which attaches to an external clunky box that contains all the ports. Now being a modern guy, I don't have any devices which hook up HDMI. I do all of my viewing wirelessly through the smart tub, so the included "one connect" box is completely useless to me. If I could just disconnect it and stream normally I would be a happy camper, but unfortunately the television requires that this clunky antiquated box be attached and plug-in for the TV to work which makes zero sense. I called Samsung support to verify that I could just use this television without the box and they said that was the case, so off the wall it comes, back to the Best Buy, and most likely to the recycling plant. Sad for both me and the planet.

    65'MU8000,Great all around t.v....Great Gaming t.v for my ps4pro and xbox one s low input lag,Amazing blacks for a led nonfald,eye popping colors,clarity,good peak brightness for Hdr content.Great daytime picture and surprisingly nighttime picture for a nonfald backlight tv. no light bleeding in black bars what so ever just great uniformity across the board go toe to toe just about with my 60' ks8000 and best of all great value for the price. If you caught one on sell u can't go wrong with the MU8000.Highly recommended

    Really nice tv. Crystal clear picture even in base HD. I had no idea HD could look this good. Remote works with onkyo receiver.

    If your wanting to wall mount this tv and already have a wall mount up might wanna rethink this tv. No screws came with it we thought no biggie we will use the screws to the wall mount that is already up that held our 60 in Vizio no problem...nope they don't fit and in the instructions it says you need to buy their Samsung wall mount. Yea I'm not doing that after paying $1500 after taxes for a tv. We went to home depot to buy screws they had some but not long enough. My husband is gonna look at a few places today but if we cant find them based on other reviews I'm taking this tv back just get a different one.

    Great picture, but there is risk of defects

    I bought this TV about 8 months ago. A horizontal line started showing down the middle of the screen, suggesting dead pixels. Before this problem, the TV gets a 5/5 for picture/sound/etc.. However, you do run the risk of problems arising in the TV panel and having it eventually replaced. Luckily mine was under the 1-year warranty, but it was an inconvenient hassle to get it replaced (having to take time off work because of my local servicer's hours). First, you talk forever on the phone while Samsung guides you through Troubleshooting protocols that you already performed, then they send your claim to an outsourced manufacturer. Then its a whole other fiasco when trying to schedule with them. Skip all the craziness and go LG. No offense, Samsung.. but the technician who did my repair did say Samsung brand TVs were the most common panels he replaces out of all the TVs out there.

    Upgraded to this from a 55 inch 6290 and I have 0 buyers remorse, wonderful picture and sound a definite step up from my previous television would definitely recommend ....

    Very good 4K

    It's one of the best 4K models. I've been watching for last 4+ months and no complaints so far. My only concern is 4K upgrade feature. It tries to upgrade all video contents to 4K by default and if the content is NOT compatible for upgrade, video quality will be very poor; we can’t really watch that video. The same video will play without any issue on any HD TV. Wish Samsung provided the feature to control the 4K upgrade option manually. I’m giving 4 starts only because of upgrade feature otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Now it's $100 less than thanksgiving deal. THANK YOU BestBuy for tricking us on thanksgiving.

    I really wanted to love this tv. I received it as a gift and was excited to set it up. It is super smart and has a box that comes with it so you dont have to plug anything into the tv itself. Setup was fairly easy and the picture was amazing. We loved it until less than 2 months in our picture started fading. The image quality started to blur and the screen slowly started turning white. I called customer support and they thought it might be some sensor settings and attempted to walk me through trouble shooting. That didnt work so a few days later they sent a tech out to our house. He was very helpful but also unable to fix the issue so he called in to request a new box and new motherboard since he was unsure which was causing the issue. He asked if it could be expedited to us since it was the only unit we had and he was told our situation did not qualify for expedited delivery. So here we are waiting for next steps in trying to resolve this matter. Extremely disappointed with this Samsung product/support.

    Bad batch of main boards--horrible support

    Purchased the unit end of July 17. Unit worked great for 30 days, then screen went black. Didn't purchase BB warranty since thought Samsung warranty was sufficient--wrong. They've been to the house 3 times, cancelled 3 times (meaning they've required me to be home 6 full days at this point... 7th now scheduled for 10/6) and the unit still isn't fixed.... The units been in my house not working longer than it actually worked! Replaced main board 3x, the panel, one connect, and all cables. Still they won't consider it a defective unit and just replace/refund. Customer service is responsive, but infuriating as they have no power to actually resolve problems.

    Don't buy this if you're gonna hang your TV

    If you are planning on hanging your TV on a wall with your components in a lower cabinet than this TV is NOT for you. I seriously doubt if the designers have ever actually been in somebody's house before to see how a TV is typically hung. What's the point of creating a One Connect box that allows you to connect all your components to it instead of having to connect them all directly to the TV and then only provide a ridiculously short cable to connect said One Connect box to the TV? If you are going to make some proprietary cable to connect your components to the TV maybe you should make the cable long enough to actually go down through the wall and out the cabinet! It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp. I'd even understand if they sold a short cable with the TV so they could then upcharge folks and require them to buy a longer cable but they didn't even do that. After an afternoon on the phone with three different departments (Samsung, Samsung Parts and Samsung direct sales) I'm finally told that they don't even have an option of a longer cable to purchase. So I guess that leaves us trying to squish this now pointless One Connect box behind the TV and then draw all the cables back up through the wall to then all pile up behind the TV making it impossible to have it flush to the wall. Stupid.

    Love this TV

    I bought this TV to replace an old DLP. I love mine. I saw the negative reviews but I haven't seen anything that has bothered me at all. The remote takes some getting used to. Based on this TV I'd buy the 75" for my theater room.

    I have had this about a year now. I have AppleTV, Samsung Blue Ray and Bose ST300 soundbar attached. The tv uses a block to connect up to 4 HDMIs. Problem is, the ARC HDMI doesn't pickup the soundbar. When I first bought this, after many calls to service for both TV and soundbar, got working temporarily. BUt it kept dropping. Now - I cannot get it to connect and Samsung support is worthless. Look up the blogs and even Samsungs support pages. Many people have issues with this and they have no fix. As a stand alone tv, great picture, etc. But if you want HDMI sound, get something else. Now - its not recognizing my Appletv which it used to as well. Very bummed with this purchase. Next TV will be another Sony.

    While this is a good TV, the 2016 model is significantly better in every aspect except for motion tracking. The 2016 model is also cheaper than this one. Get yourself a KS8000. You won't be disappointed.

    We purchased this TV in November 2017, in January we took off the wall to look at the connections for a sound bar. We were very careful and placed it on a blanket. After placing back on wall and turning it on several lines appeared. We called Samsung and they said it was physical damage and would not be covered. They gave us a repairman to call. He advised us from looking at the picture that it would cost about about 1000.00 to repair which was $200 less than what we had paid for it. Everyday it gets worse so we will have to purchase another TV. The TV was never dropped or handled roughly. It was caused by holding the tv to hard and it was on my side(I'm not very strong) Otherwise, the TV is ok. If you can afford it pay Bestbuy to set up and move for you when you need to move it.

    Since I bought this TV in 2018, some apps are incompatible. After three to four years of use, Samsung TVs seem to stop accepting apps. I had to buy this TV because I had the same problem with a Samsung 55-inch Curved TV that I had bought in 2015. Due to the incompatibility of the apps, the problem is now happening again. My recommendation is to avoid Samsung TVs.
