Not built to hold
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the Samsung television, but the base was very wobbly for a 65" television. Had to return and of course there was a difference in price and $100 Best Buy Rewards card was not good since you have to change brands!

above average tv!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.let me start by saying I'm upgrading from a 7000 series 1080hd tv about 4 years old. I got this tv at a killer deal. I wasn't in the market to buy a tv, but $700 off msrp motivated me to make this purchase. now on to the tv. the picture is vivid, bright, and the tv is beautifully set up. for the videophiles who like really accurate darks this tv is not for you. it produces above average blacks with its triple extreme dark system. I am a person who likes contrast so this tv fit perfect. games look good and 4k looks great. upscaled content looks good.

Image processing was weak
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether cable at 720 or 1080p or blu ray discs I was not happy with the sets image processing. Being a graphic artist with a lot of time in Photoshop it appears the process the image interpolation is sub par. I never tested it with 4k material but this is not the set you want for general use unless you have a superior scaler somewhere in the chain before the TV gets the signal. I returned it and purchased a Sony 930e whose image processing is far superior and am very happy.

Scrolling lines
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for only 15 mo. I love this TV. The OS, the picture, and its aesthetics. I'm sorry to say though, after only a little more than a year, it has horizontal scrolling lines through it. Samsung agreed to help with parts for repair, but a $2000 television should last more than a year or so. All of our devices are samsung for years, and I'm really dissappointed.

I love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start by saying that I had a Sony Bravia for a little over a year that plagued me with incessant problems. Intermittent internet, inability to connect via hardwire, an issue where I couldn't airplay music from macbook pro to my receiver via Apple TV without having TV on that made that TV one big headache. I went through Geek Squad and they finally agreed to credit me for that TV and let me exchange it for a different model. Rather than choose another Sony, I opted for this one. Aside from the fact that all the issues that were a problem with the Sony are non-existent with this model, the picture is so much better! It's really very crisp and pops. Unlike w/ the Sony, I can see picture clearly in spite of reflection from open windows. The interface is so much easier to navigate. The design is slicker and more practical. This TV wins across the board. I have no regrets upgrading to this model from the Sony and I could not recommend it anymore.

Overpriced/Overrated TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything looks great, but I think Samsung could have done better with the Remote Control. The Remote Control is garbage, the only great thing good about is the voice. I bought a $5 universal remote from Black Friday sale and works on this TV way better. The Samsung remote designed is terribly awful TV with Tuner. Would not had bought if Best Buy have remote control shown on floor demo, surprised me when I found out at home. The Samsung TV remote control something for Amazon Fire TV then is fine, just scrolling, but not a fully function TV, can't change channel or source easily. Many people may like thumb better than voice recommend or both or at least if the choice was there. Samsung next model, please make your remote control like LG magic remote. LG has the best Remote Control feature, including with voice commend! Even this with 120Hz (native) and 240Hz enhanced it was not as good as Plasma. I see artifacts in fast moving situation. I currently owned a LG 4K,3D 120Hz/240Hz as well. I guess nothing will be good as Plasma @ 600Hz. Slow documentary 4K video then this TV and similar should be fine, but I guess the industry dictate where to lead, not the consumer. BTW, just because America movie industry want 3D to stay only at theater, please bring 3D back for those want this option. For this top-of-the-line of Samsung ULTRA UHD quality, it was overpriced and overrated.

Excellent TV - Buy The One You Like
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a defective MU 8500 delivered, replaced it with a Sony 900e that arrived DOA and settled on the MU 9000. I didn’t like the look of the 900 on the wall and after all a TV is off 90% of the time. My TV would be going into a large modern LR and like it or not design costs money - if you don’t believe me ask anyone who owns a Corvette Stingray. I’ll give you the punchline of the story first. I didn’t know this until the end. The guy who spent 90 minutes with me was a regional LG manager in the store to be sure his brand was getting its share of play in Magnolia. Without knowing who he was I said I really liked th LG 55” OLED but I need a 65 and it was out of the question. He volunteered not to bother with anything from LG except OLED. Remember he’s an LG rep. I told the rep I heard the 900 was better than the 9000 because it was backlit Again, and still not knowing who he was, the rep got visibly annoyed, explained that he had a technical background and showed me why the categories by themselves didn’t matter and it was the spec’s in each. He continued that there’s no way you are getting a better TV for $100 more or less and that the differences in on-line rating sites and nerd’s reviews could never be seen by a real user in a real room. I told the rep that I liked the modern Iook of the Samsung over the Sony. He said buy the Samsung. In a week as your eyes will get used to whatever TV you bought and you’d never be able to tell the difference after setting the picture where you like it. At that point, and finally noticing that he wasn’t wearing one of those blue Best Buy outfits, I asked him if it mattered to him that I bought a Samsung. When he told me what he was doing there, he said he couldn’t care less and it was just that nobody was in the store. It was then it occurred to me why his name tag was different and said LG. Fade in fade out the rep added that a DOA delivery is not unusual in today’s sophisticated TV’s, to buy the one I liked better, and to stop giving myself a headache. I did. Geek Squad was great, I’m very happy with my choice, I also play with the settings depending on what I’m watching then. Punchline - buy the TV you like. This is a very cool TV. But if you like the 900 better for any reason buy that one instead and be done with it.

Nice Value For Premium TV. Great Purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a high quality TV. I was leaning to buying a Q9F Samsung and last minute changed to this TV (UN65MU9000FXZA 2160P SMART 4K U) and glad I did because it was half the price but still a quality TV. Q9F was almost too bright and not worth the extra money. I also looked seriously at a Sony. The Geek Squad did a nice job with installation. I'm happy with the purchase... solid choice if you can't decide.

HDMI sources not working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only owned this TV for 4 months. The picture is phenomenal, no one can deny that. However the TV has stopped detecting the HDMI inputs. Keeps saying lost signal. NO HDMI connection detected. If you do a search online it seems like this is a huge problem with the new Samsung TV's.And there is no straight forward way to correct it and Samsung does not want to acknowledge this is a problem. I find this unacceptable for TV that is almost $2,000.00. The only thing that makes me feel better is that I bought full warranty with Best Buy x 5 years so if I can not fix this I will return and get a different TV, and guess what? . It will not be a Samsung. I am extremely dissapointed. I wished this was a fixable issue.

Limited Viewing Angle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a 65" (65MU9000FXZA) to replace an older Samsung 52". Old tv still looked great but needed larger screen due to some eyesight problems. New tv looked great when sitting or standing directly in front of it but colors faded as I moved from center to either side...estimate only about a 45 degree good field of view. Black & white images affected also. Took photos of images to the store to show sales people. Expected better from Samsung. Returned it and swapped for a different brand. Best Buy sales and Geek Squad service was excellent.

Great TV. Especially for sale price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second 9000 series TV. I have a 75" 2016 model and this 65" 2017 model. Both are 2 of the best TV's I have ever owned. Takes a little tweaking to get the picture correct. But once that was done you will be surprised an image could look this good. It might not be OLED but to my eyes it is equal, and a lot cheaper. By the way the smart TV functions are easier than ever to use.

Overall, Not bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this TV, I really did. I went into my local best buy, and was torn between the MU8000, MU9000, and the Sony X900E. I spent well over an hour trying to find the differences between the pictures, and eventually decided on the MU9000 due to the better glare reduction, and the fact that I found a price match saving me a few hundred bucks on top of the sale price. When I got the TV home, I felt like I was going to break it it was so thin, which is both a good and a bad thing. Once I got the TV mounted and set up, which took next to no time, I started watching it. Unfortunately, I was let down. The screen lacked the "pop" I was expecting with 4k, and the HDR was a bit of a let down. There was a lot of light bloom, and the local dimming feature was incredibly noticeable, to the point of being distracting. Overall, I thought it was a worse picture than the previous HDTV I had owned. So, back to the store it went, and I brought the Sony X900E home instead.
