Great Plasma Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I love my Panasonic Plasma. It’s 10 years old and has a great picture. I researched TVs for a while and was hesitant to make the upgrade. It was between this Samsung and a TCL 6 series. Once I went to the store to compare the two, I noticed some differences and spoke to a salesman as well. I highly suggest you use the rtings.com site to compare the TVs of your liking. What I didn’t notice was that this TV is 120hz and the TCL was 60hz. That and the screen glare was a little more noticeable on the TCL. The Samsung has the Directv Now app, which I use for cable, so I was definitely happy the salesman informed me of that. After comparing the two, I decided on the Samsung. I’m pretty happy with my choice. This TV is 120hz, supports HDR10+, and has a wide range of popular apps. It also has lots of picture features that you can look up if you’re into the specifications. I was pleasantly surprised by the audio with good bass tones. Of course this was after I changed the audio to the optimized setting. I also used the rting website to set a baseline for picture calibration. I did set the backlight higher than they had it. I turned on some HDR content on Netflix and it was a little dark. It may still need to be tweaked a bit or it was the show. I also tried some HDR content on Amazon and it looked amazing. Colors popped and the picture was more clear than what I’m used to, a plasma. Overall this is a great tv coming from a plasma. The picture is clear with no stutter, audio is clear and has good bass tones after adjusting. If you are looking to make the switch, go for it. Don’t forget to price match!

Broke after a month
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Power went on the TV, it seems to be a big issue over years of models. Don’t buy Samsung. I have bought TCL, LG, and Visio over 7-8 years and never had any tv issues.

Above a standard 4k tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is more than suitable for many users needs. the preprogrammed picture settings seem to be good enough to please most. very quick ui easy to use, small minimal ad, comes preprogrammed with your immediate needs with also a small library of apps to choose to download. remote is comfortable, simple, and not required to be aimed at the set. biggest set backs are finding the best settings or fine tuning can be a slight chore depending on how much switching between content you're doing. biggest strength high native refresh rate of 120 makes video games look and play really well. lightning fast(for my experience) ui switching between apps takes no time. speaker isn't perfect as all modern TVs subscribe to. but this is on the better end of things. overall considering the price point I purchased mine a few weeks ago. I'd say it's much more suited at that price as the supreme king of the budget as opposed to mid tier price with a more to be expected. 1200-1300 plus tax if. a little much. at that rate 1500-2000 gets you everything this is missing. if it comes down closer to a grand again may want to consider otherwise, look up or down.

Better than the TCL 6 or Vizio P
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I first tried the TCL R617 and returned for bad banding. It had great picture quality, but I couldn’t get past the dirty screen effect. The Vizio was almost as bad with the DSE, but just bad terrible picture quality. It also had broken HDMI ports/software that would not accept an HDR signal. Let me tell you, this TV blew me away, and I am very picky!! The black levels are actually BETTER in a dimly lit room than either the TCL or Vizio. Look at Rtings “black uniformity” score, it even beats out the Somy X900F. The color and clarity are amazing. The motion is just amazing. I used to fuss with picture settings so much trying to make all my other tv’s look better, I went with standard out of the box on this one. The contrast and black levels are breath taking which is insanely impressive for an edge lit LED TV. I have experienced nothing but perfect picture quality with insane contrast color motion and black levels and details I have never seen before. Don’t listen to the hype and lies for FALD which causes blooming and DSE. Samsung has put magic into this TV and it just works right out of the box. Also has VRR for xbox one x competitive gaming. and auto game motion plus settings for ps4 pro and 4k 30fps xbox one x games. Brilliant TV and I would HIGHLY recommend it for the price.

Review: This TV is pretty amazing. When comparing it side-by-side with a lower budget 4K TV, I could see the Samsung is much more vibrant and has beautiful picture. Games have no noticeable input lag, especially when freesync is turned on so I highly recommend this TV for any true gamer. The sound of this TV is not that great so I bought a Yamaha Yas 108 soundbar after a couple months and it's 100% worth it.
