    Fluctuating volume misleading ad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the Q70T for one specific reason and that was to have bluetooth headphones and the tv speakers work at the same time. It printed in the ad that it will operate that way however when you go to the menu to select that option it states the tv does not have the ability to perform that function! Extremely misleading and on top of that the volume fluctuates from low to high and back on its own

      TCinMa:

Thank you for your review of the Q70T TV. You can use both TV and Bluetooth device audio simultaneously with the Multi-Output Audio function. When this function is active, you can set the volume of the Bluetooth headphones independently of the volume of the TV speakers. First, make sure your Bluetooth headphones are paired. Press HOME on your remote. Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Multi-output Audio. Find the device you'd like to pair.

Auto Volume is a feature on Samsung Smart TVs that helps to avoid volume fluctuation when changing between channels or sources on the TV. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume = On

You may also want to perform a Sound Test under Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Sound Test

Not worth it, go OLED for an extra $100

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this TV along with a 55in LG OLED ($100 more) and there is 0 comparison. The quality of colors is much worse than the OLED, everything looks ashy no matter how much I played with the picture settings. Reds looked orange and black looked washed out dark grayish. Also, there is a choppiness to movements and a bit of blur. You also pretty much have to look at this TV front/center otherwise the picture colors look even worse. I recommend paying the extra $100 for the LG OLED and settle for 55in if this is your price point. The Samsung interface is too busy and annoying. The remote is crap. It’s very thin and lightweight (feels cheap), and doesn’t have quick access buttons for the settings menu or tv input. Instead you have to scroll through a large home menu to get to the settings. The remote is so thin that the directional buttons are very close to the enter button, so it’s easy to miss one and hit the other instead. I’ll be returning this one.

Great TV but didn't last long

I bought this TV about 2 years ago. The picture is great and gaming on it is incredible. For the price, I was hoping it would last longer than 2 years. I'm hoping the Geek Squad can help getting the red vertical lines fixed without charging me as much as a new TV would cost.

    good picture bad build quality

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've always bought Samsung. They built good TVs and electronics. The build quality consists of all super thin cheep materials. I spend more time with my TV off than on, so even if the bezel is thin it should still have a Quality look and feel. This TV looks and feels super cheep. I'm thinking of returning it for an LG

    Broke in 3-months

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This really deserves no stars. My family bought a new TV after ten plus years. My father was talked into buying this model. After three months, this TV cracked internally. There was no external damage to the screen. After discussing it with customer service, we were told “they’ve been having this kind of issue and they would send a repair guy out to fix it”. A month later, the guy came to fix it and said it was our fault. However, he wouldn’t explain his reasoning or let us talk to someone else. We are now out $1200 and a TV. It was a beautiful TV so it was really disappointing that it didn’t even last more than 3 months.

      Jess:

I am very sorry for the unfortunate situation with a crack having developed in your TV. Please know that a crack will not spontaneously develop; a physical impact – perhaps small, but done at just a certain degree – would be the most likely explanation.

      Thundermandan:

Thank you for purchasing Samsung’s Q70T TV and for your review. I am sorry your TV is turning itself on. Sometimes connected Smart devices send abnormal "power on" signals through the wireless network that triggers the TV to turn itself on.

If you do not want this function, navigate to Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile, and turn the setting off.

Additionally, if you are using the device thru HDMI then it could cause the auto turn on as Anynet+ is set on. Occasionally connected devices such as game console (PS4, xbox) or cable set top box sending turn on signal, for example, if they have software updates.

Try turning Anynet+ off as it may be causing auto power on.
Go to Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+, then Disable (toggle button)

If the TV continues to turn on by itself continuously, please contact our TV Support via:

    Don't do it

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased 65" Samsung what a piece of junk. The repair men were at my home a number of times when I first got it. They always had to come back with a different part (the only thing not replaced were the legs and the plug). Finally got it working and lasted a little over a year before it started acting up again. It's now out in the trash if anyone wants it.

    Disconnects from Internet

This tv was purchased as a gift for me 4 days ago. Day 1 all was great. Since then, it keeps disconnecting from wifi and will never reconnect. The only solution that I seemed to have found is turn the tv on and off about 100+ times and pray it reconnects at some point. Extremely frustrating.

      TLSA:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q70T TV and for your review. I am very sorry that you are experiencing internet connection issues.

You may want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

      1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).

      2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (WiFi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

      3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem.

Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

      4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

      5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

For further assistance or service, please contact us via any of the following options:
