I would recommend this tv to everyone the picture quality is excellent for gaming and movies. I do a lot of movie watching and gaming and this tv really brings out the details of the game and movie. And you don’t need a sound bar if you don’t want one because the speakers are great as well.

I purchased to replace the previous year’s model due to it being struck by lightning. The Home Screen is very different and the remote charges differently but it was a quick adjustment. I love that it knows what channel I tune into in the mornings and does it automatically.

Had to return the lg because the light in the background was on the edges. So I got Samsung, I am happy with my purchase with this tv. The quality is much better. Back lit lighting is much better, or OLED.

The TVs are both a good fit sitting on top of the large storage cabinets so it's comfortable to sit on a couch across the room. We initially liked the Alexa capability because we already have Alexa devices. However, we've had a handful of moments where what we're watching gets muted because the built in Alexa tries to respond to something said during the show. I've connected the TVs in the list of my Alexa devices but when I verbally ask Alexa to turn on the TV, my speaker replies that it's not connected to the TV. We've had a couple issues where some of our frequently used apps disappear from the home screen a day or so after being added. I had to find a tutorial on YouTube just to learn how to get the remote to rewind/fast forward while streaming a show, which became even more necessary when we miss a minute of dialogue when Alexa tries to figure out what she heard. Last issue is several days after hooking up our most used upstairs TV, it has taken to randomly making clicking sounds like a regular TV turning on and off. Changing out the cable to connect the TV to the internet stopped it for a couple days but then it started again. Otherwise, it's pretty easy for streaming what you want with a little bit of setup beforehand.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with Samsung's Q80B TV. Alexa may recognize an ambient or in-show noise or everyday conversation as a call to Voice Assistant. We recommend turning off the Voice Wake-up function or setting the Wake-Up Sensitivity to Low. Go to Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Voice > Voice Wake-up.
To ensure your standalone device is properly connected, please follow these steps:
1. Download both the Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings apps, if you don't already have them. Both are available for iOS or Android devices.
2. Make sure your Alexa device and TV are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Your TV must be enabled within the SmartThings app. If not, make sure you are signed in with your Samsung account on the TV. Go to Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy, then select System Manager > Samsung Account.
4. Log in to the SmartThings app with the same Samsung account. Tap Devices, and if your TV isn’t already shown, tap + to add it to the app.
5. In the Alexa app, enable the SmartThings skill and sign into your Samsung account. This will automatically connect your Samsung TV to Alexa and let you use voice commands to control your television.
To address the app issue you're having, you can try cold booting your TV by holding down the power button on your remote for 5+ sec until the TV turns off and on again, deleting and downloading the apps again, and completing full reset of Smart Hub to correct the issue.
Please also make sure your TV is running the latest firmware version. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
Samsung TVs use a combination of metal and plastic material. These materials are subject to expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. Occasional creaking, popping, or cracking may be heard. Additionally, certain components within the TV may cause these temporary noises once powered off. Please know this does not indicate a product malfunction, and your TV is safe to use.
With this in mind, here are a few quick tips on how to reduce the expansion that can cause these noises.
1) Ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Some enclosures may not allow for proper ventilation. This causes the internal temperature to increase and the plastic to expand even more than normal. For recommended ventilation requirements, please see your user manual.
2) Make sure there aren't any heating or air conditioning vents pointing directly at the TV.
3) Verify that the TV is on a flat and level surface. Tilting or an uneven stand can increase these noises.
