But the delivery process abysmal, until the store GM stepped in with an understanding of Customer Service. When a Corporate 6 week delivery window was created by a Third Party vendors failure, the GM stepped up and restored my faith in human intelligence.

I allowed him to pick the television of his choice. I'm glad it was on one of those promotions that if you pay it off before a certain time, no interest will be charged! I've purchased many items from BB that way and saved a lot of money!

Blooming TV

Blooming is horrendous. Adds on startup are annoying. The remote is not of much use excepting for changing the TV's settings parameters. If ALL you watch is streaming, no cable or broadcast, it might be okay. Thankfully I was able to set my xfinity remote to control the TV. I understand that blooming is normal with edge lighting, but the blooming on my other TVs with edge lighting is not nearly as noticeable. Distracting to the point I do not recommend this TV.

Thank you for your review of Samsung's Q80B TV. To ensure your TV's image is fully optimized, please be sure your firmware is up to date with the latest version, as this includes picture quality updates. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
You may also want to try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred.
Check to see if Contrast Enhancer has been enabled. This setting automatically adjusts your TV's brightness so the difference between bright and dark areas is not excessive. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Contrast Enhancer
If Contrast Enhancer hasn’t been enabled, please see if Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, or Motion Lighting have been enabled and disable them.
- Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting

Crappy television with no sound

Went into the store where they were NO help. It’s a Sunday so Geek Squad isn’t available either. Will have to wait until tomorrow with no sound on the tv. No big deal for me but my husband’s only entertainment is the television.

However, the quality, sustainability and it’s open compatibility are things I’m personally willing to pay more for. I got what I wanted!

I was a little surprised that the optical connection out of the TV to our Harmon Kardon sound bar would not work unless I selected to listen to both the TV and the optical connected device. I then reduced the TV volume to zero and now am listening to the sound bar. A little strange.
