Samsung 65" NEO QLED 4K IS A winner

Great clarity and color saturation. this replaced an 11 year old Samsung 52 inch TV that still worked great, but the new 4K Qled really stands out.

QLED has no business looking this good

Upon further consideration, this TV would be at a location that may see substantial pausing and static displays, as my wife or kids may pause it and walk away for some time. Due to this, I started looking back at QLED, as I already have a few and have been more than pleased. Enter the Neo QLED. Micro LED backlighting with its local dimming works very well. The glossy screen fights reflections better than matte screens while providing more depth in colors. Oh, and this thing gets BRIGHT. HDR? No problem. Bright room? This is brighter. Micro LED light bloom? Sure, it's a thing if you sit there and benchmark the panel under a microscope. Is it an issue? Not at all. Overall gorgeous display.

Great TV

The picture quality is awesome. Have user friendly setup just follow the steps. The sound from this model is spectacular!

Good television, until, it wasn't!

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew I wanted to purchase a Samsung (I have the Frame and love it), and spent time researching different models to find one that would fit within my budget, deliver a great picture, and offer features that I am already familiar with. I ultimately opted to go with the Samsung QN85A because it met my requirements, plus there were many great reviews out there. However, after less than four months of ownership, the unit will no longer power on... just a giant black hole on my wall. You may be wondering why I am not rating this as 1/5 (or zero, if it were possible.) Read on for my reasoning. First Impressions - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I was a bit disappointed that a TV at this price point didn't include a wall mount, when my Samsung Frame (which cost less included one.) Once the wall mount came in, and it was installed; I powered it on to find the familiar Tizen Smart TV interface; it's really intuitive and simple to use. After logging in (using my existing Samsung MyThings account) I was disappointed to find out that it I wouldn't be able to synchronize apps, settings, etc. like other Smart TVs/STBs allow. Nevertheless, setup was a breeze. Picture clarity, brightness, and contrast were excellent. Sound wasn't bad, but cannot compare to front-firing speakers (IMHO.) Had the unit continued to function properly, I would have undoubtedly given this television a 4/5. From Good to Goner - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As I said at the beginning, this unit failed after less than four months of ownership. The night before it failed, I was watching a movie; when I was ready for bed, I powered off the unit. The next morning, when I went to power it on... nothing! The screen was black, the power indicator light wouldn't come on, it was unresponsive. I did some basic troubleshooting before resorting to Samsung's technical support site (to make sure I had exhausted all possible steps to resolve the issue.) Basically, it suggested I unplug the unit and plug it back in; check to make sure the standby/power indicator light was on; and lastly tap the actual screen to make sure it wasn't simply displaying a blank (black) picture. When this didn't result in any type of resolution, I was prompted to schedule an in-home service appointment. I was provided with convenient appointment times, and multiple confirmations (email and text) about my appointment. Less than 48 hours after scheduling my appointment, I received a call from the contracted service provider, informing me that my appointment would need to be pushed out several days while they ordered the necessary parts. How they knew what parts to order (when they didn't even inspect the unit) was beyond me, but I knew better than to argue with the people responsible with fixing my television. I was told, I would receive a call the morning of my appointment. By the afternoon of my scheduled service appointment, I called the service provider and it was at that point, they explained that the appointment had been cancelled because the parts were unavailable. It was now my responsibility to work with Samsung directly for resolution... a bit disappointing to be sure. I called Samsung support and explained the situation. The support agent, apologized profusely that I wasn't notified that the appointment had been cancelled. After reading the notes, she confirmed that the parts needed were unavailable. She then transferred me to Samsung's Refund & Exchange department. At this point, the Samsung representative explained that I would be eligible for a replacement unit. Because my purchase was made at Best Buy (I had to text a copy of my receipt to the agent), I was offered the option to receive a credit/voucher with Best Buy equal to my purchase price so I could opt to purchase the same unit, or select a different model. I will be opting for Samsung's The Frame as my previous unit (three years old is still working beautifully.) I hope that my experience is the exception, and that others have enjoyed and continue to enjoy their Samsung QN85A television. Had I not received such excellent care from Samsung, I would have without a doubt, rated this as a 1/5, but because Samsung opted to do the right thing and take care of their customer, I've given the unit an extra star. Curbside Pickup Experience (Not Part of Rating) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This TV almost didn't come home with me... the store associates vehemently argued that it wouldn't fit in my car. They said, "Trust us, we do this for a living; it's not going to fit." Only after I insisted that they make an attempt, did they reluctantly bring the boxed television out to my car. To their disbelief, it fit like a glove with little effort (hint: it helps that I measured to ensure the boxed dimensions would work before I even purchased it.) In retrospect, that may have been a sign that this unit should have stayed at the store.

Screen won't come on.... common Samsung issue

Have been looking online to see if i can find any help, and this apparently is a common issue with Samsung TVs. Samsung is taking no responsibility for the issue... and their service dept said that it's probably cheaper to buy a new tv than to get this serviced. Horrible product and company - never buy anything Samsung.

Best voice activation system is the "Bixby" with this one...don't even need the remote to turn set on and off.

The picture is so clear and the setup was not too bad either. Still trying to take it all in. I doubt that we’ve ever owned one to compare it with, and we’ve owned many good TVs

Amazing smart TV!

Purchased this for a larger living room with an open to the kitchen floor plan. The TV does not disappoint at 65" combined with the great viewing angles. Picture, color, and black levels are fantastic.

My college age grandson selected this one after going through all the specs of the various brands and models. His choice was the correct one for us. We are totally pleased.

Hardly have to use the sound bar since we purchased. The Best Buy clerk did help after about 30 mins of walking around. Glad he did help, he explained the difference in the TVs.

Samsung 65" QN85A Neo QLED TV Review

So far, we love everything about our Samsung new TV and hope it serves us as well as the Sony did.

GREAT PICTURE

It was easy for me to set up For a tv it has very good sound too. It was also very easy to connect to the internet wirelessly. All and all I think this is the best tv I have ever purchased. The price wasn’t outrageous either.

Geek squad was best choice to install on wall & set up. Very clean and provided answers as needed. Definitely recommend both Samsung Q tv & geek squad install

The 65" TV was just the right size for the living room. The matching soundbar that I purchased worked well with great surround sound.
