We’ve been looking for a 70 to 75 inch TV for a couple of years. We are not willing to pay over a thousand dollars for a TV with how quickly TVs develop issues. This October 13th deal was hard to pass up being $220 off. So far, so good. Hoping it’ll last a few years. My husband’s face when BestBuy brought it out to load the car was priceless. I told him I was getting pressure cookers. I was.

Pretty straight forward unboxing and installation. Easy set up but had difficulty finding the Wi-Fi in the beginning. After connecting to our >500Mbps speed internet and set up, the Apps had a hard time opening and It keeps saying can’t find the server. We had to unplug to reboot and that solved the problem. As far as the quality of the picture, it’s really good and crisp. My wife and I both agree that for what we paid for ($530), and we also got the 5yr protection (just in case) it is totally worth it! We were waiting for a good deal for at least a 60in tv for our covered patio but instead we ended up getting this deal! This ended up going in our room and 65 in tv we have in our room will go to the patio. The description didn’t mention that it came with Apple TV but it did...So that’s a plus! It’s only the first day but so far so good, No complaints after set-up! Definitely a good buy! There’s not much review for this TV so I hope this helps.

      Kmdameron:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU6980 TV. I am very sorry you are experiencing issues with your TV not displaying properly. You may want to try the following troubleshooting steps:

      1) Check the antenna and input cable connections
      2) Check the antenna and HDMI cable connections
      3) If the issue persists, define exactly what is wrong with the display. For example, mosaics and blocks, multiple lines or white dots, fixed horizontal, or vertical lines
      4) Try changing channels using the remote control. Is the issue the same on all channels?
      5) Press the Home button (looks like a house), select Source, choose another input source. Is the issue the same on all sources?
      6) If the same problem persists, run a diagnostic test. (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test)
      7) If the problem disappears during the test, check your TV signal (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information) to check the signal strength. Signal strength must be more than 20 dB (more than 4 bars on the icon) for stable signal reception

Should your issue persist, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

I have always been a huge fan of Samsung products. I have a Samsung phone, washer and dryer, and have had at least 5 Samsung TVs. NEVER had a problem with one of their products ever, until now. We bought a 70 inch Samsung Tizen in October of 2020 and until January of 2024 it looked and worked impressively well. A few days ago I noticed the top 1/3 of the TV seemed to have darkened and it looked as though the back light had gone out. I tried all the normal or known fixes and nothing seed to help. Very disappointed we didn't even get 4 years out of it when I still have a 15 year old Samsung Plasma that still looks amazing and a 55 inch Samsung LED that's 8 years old and still looks great. I just bought a 65 inch Samsung same model about 6 months ago so here's hoping this is just an anomaly because I bought a Hisense to replace this TV as my faith in Samsung has definitely taken a hit. Still like their products but this is a huge disappointment and I will probably buy other brand TVs going forward.

I just bought this TV because it was on sale so I gave it a go. Build quality: It is ok, the stands are cheap, not much fan of these but the tv will get wall mounted soon, but they could have at least made them more appealing. Image quality: Not much to be said of a $529 TV (I got it on sale) the darks and not dark enough and whites lack a little, but it's common from an LED panel (OLED is when those image details will prevail) it's got a different array of settings and tweaks you can make to have this TV somewhat closer to a higher spec (my settings are Vivid, contrast down from 50 to 40, sharpness on 13 and the rest stays with the preset calibration) along with cool temperature. You will not see much gain if you're looking at 1080P as I felt disappointed at first, but then with 4K youtube videos I got to see it's true potential. Features: Those are great, nothing to complain about. It's got apple TV (that automatically saves you from having to buy it separately at $149.99) and the rest of the streaming services, although I wish Roku was also in it but at this price point this tv serves pretty good. I love the fact it's got Samsung tv plus, a nice feature in which there are some channels that I wouldn't otherwise have access to like Bloomberg TV to name one. Video game: It's got really good quality for video games, it's HDR helps with the color definition as well and not much tweaking to the picture quality is needed, thus my initial setting seems to be more than perfect. Overall, I would recommend this TV for someone that's on a budget, does not care about having the most high definition TV, or someone that occasionally watches tv, plays games like I do. Keep in mind this is a sub $500 tv, so don't expect the quality and performance of a QLED series, those are almost 3x the price of this. Side note: It's refresh rate is not terrible, but 120 should be the standard nowadays.

I am fairly techy and into photography, so I am on the picky side of picture quality. Upgraded from a 48" Samsung bought 13 years ago. I expected this TV to be just average but the price was just too good to pass up. I even rented a Uhaul since it is larger than my SUV can handle. The screen size is a perfect upgrade. Now about picture quality. It is everything I expected from a good LED. My 27" computer monitor is still better but it costed more than this TV. Color is great and contrast or sharpness is not over the top. Sound is somewhat worse than the old TV, however. But that is OK since I connect the optical output to my external high end audio system. Now the not so great. Setup took longer than I like. I had to download an app to my phone to complete the setup. Not the end of the world though. I had all the sources connected to an external switch box that supports 4K. However, the TV did not recognize anything initially. I connected the Fire Stick directly to one of the 2 HDMI ports so that my wife could enjoy her shows. After playing with it for 2 days(!), it magically and suddenly recognized everything from the switch box. I have no clue what changed. As for the interface, it is sluggish, but that is acceptable since I don't need to use it very often. I also wish I could assign the position of the sources any time, not just the first time. In spite of the shortcomings, I still highly recommend this model because of the price and the picture quality. Given my bias for high picture quality, without any doubt it is more than sufficient for almost everyone.

This is an outstanding big screen TV. The color and picture are exceptional and with the price this is a fantastic deal. Samsung as always made TV set up easy and this was no different. The ability to get all My streaming services Right through the TV was also an outstanding feature. It’s nice only using one remote and not having to deal with and Apple TV/Roku device etc. This TV makes everything really easy!

Samsung - 70" Model: UN70TU6980FXZA. I was monitoring Samsung TV prices for last 6 months (as we were moving to a new house yet to be completed) and when this item became available at this price, I got it. I have gone to Best Buy several times (with mask) and examined the various TVs. Samsung is the best. And for the price, this TV is impressive and I am fully satisfied with my purchase. 1) Delivery: Smooth and timely. The wall mount/bracket for the TV arrived 1 day before the TV. It's the one BB recommends as a bundle purchase. The TV arrived at the tail end of the delivery window the next day. They placed right the room I wanted to mount it. 2) Products: Both items are excellent. The Wall Mount is super easy to install. One caveat. Make sure you have a good quality stud finder and make sure your studs are truly 16" on center and fall on either end within the margins of the mounting brackets. I had a problem in that the center location of over the fireplace was the location of the primary stud and 16" out from that (on either side) was beyond the margin of the mounting bracket. I had to go to home depot and get 4 long flat metal braces to screw in for the next studs on either side top and bottom of the mounting bracket to secure it to my satisfaction. These did NOT interfere with the mounting bracket range of motion. The TV is well packaged. Open carefully, the remote, instructions etc are ALL nestled in the Styrofoam packaging. Pay attention to the oversized one sheet of paper that gives you the size of the mounting screws for the braces that get screwed on to the back of your TV. Too short--you get no adequate grip, too long--you risk damage to the unit. 3) Assembly: I did a wall mount but the instructions for the leg stand assembly are clear if you want to place this TV on a cabinet. I had to install over the fireplace. For the size of this TV, I would recommend wall mount with a good articulating bracket. Some patient planning and measuring (2x/3x) will save you a good $200 to, if over the fireplace, $300 to have BB come and install it. 4) Performance: The wall mount -- is good, sturdy, has adequate range of motion for to access the HDMI, optical etc ports. The degree of motion is not lot. Less than 10 degrees side to side. Again, it's adequate for my needs. You may want something with more range of motion. TV--this is excellent. It's an entry level Samsung specifically made/distributed exclusively by Samsung for BB. That said. It's an excellent TV. Since my family room is very bright (bathed in natural light), I was concerned about glare and reflection. NOT a problem at all. The picture quality is great depending on quality of the source. I use the optical port to connect to my Sennheiser Headphones. They work beautifully. At first, I did a wireless network connection and this was excellent, fast and smooth. I decided to go with an ethernet connection (wired) because of all the wireless devices I have running in the house. This is perfect. All the ports are snug and good fits, no looseness or movement. The only issue I encountered were occasional glitches when I run Spectrum TV but that seems like a Spectrum server issue and not a connection or TV issue. Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, YouTube all work seamlessly. Picture Quality: I spent considerable time at BB viewing the various Samsung offerings including the top of the line Q80 & Q90T. Yes, the Q80T and Q90T have better color range and contrasts and sharper image motion. Interestingly, my family members did NOT select the Q80T or Q90T as the best image so the difference is not much to the uninitiated. These units are also better at handling ambient light issues. That said, this TV (Model: UN70TU6980FXZA) is no slouch. IF the Q80/Q90T are A+ units, this TV is a solid B if not B+. And for the price difference (more than $1000.00) unless you're OCD about picture quality, brightness, contrast, sharpness, motion blur, etc., you're not really going to miss out on much. I went from a Panasonic VIERA TC-P65ST50 65-Inch 1080p 600Hz (moved that into the basement) to THIS Samsung. Have to say I'm thoroughly satisfied with this unit. My recommendation, if you're at all mechanically inclined (even a bit) and have the patience, save yourself some money, have friend or ask the spouse or partner to help with mounting this TV. IF you can, wear those white cotton gloves when handling this TV as you don't want get your finger prints on the screen. They're quite visible when the TV is off. IF a few hundred bucks aren't an issue, get the professional install. My neighbor seeing my install decided to hire BB to do it for his loft as he wanted the wiring hidden. BB did an excellent job.

Amazing TV. Display is perfect! Major upgrade from a 1080p LED tv. I like the ability to watch the Samsung channels included with the TV. My fire stick broke and while waiting to replace I was able to watch the Samsung channels that has a pretty large selection. Also several subscriptions that I have, are included on the remote which is a nice touch. Really don’t need the fire stick but I kept it because I have a prime membership and like the prime options. I added a surround sound system with the tv for my own preference but the volume from the tv was good. Set up is easy, color is rich, tv was easy to install and easy to add the surround system. I also mounted the tv with a full range wall mount. Made a huge difference for me.

The TV was simple to setup out of the box. The TV recognized the devices I had connected and it shows the icon of the device. The picture quality and sound is great. The blacks on the tv are deep and dark the white is not as bright as my other tv from Samsung but it still looks great. The 4k output is realistic looking I have I am very impressed and for the price point it is a great entry level tv. Playing a game on it with the xbox it did not have any motion blur like some tvs do. The only thing I did not like was how the interface was laggy when choosing the different inputs or the different apps. All in all it is a great tv
