We purchased this to upgrade our 3 year old 50" smart TV and are so glad we did. The picture quality is fantastic, hook up was easy and it exceeded our expectations. The free channels included with the TV (forever at no charge) are really good with content not seen from other providers. It also connects with Alexa and allowed to add out Apple TV. With the black Friday deal it was so inexpensive but knowing now how good it is, we would have bought it with out the deal. Fantastic buy and product.

    Samsung 70 inch 4K TV

This was a replacement for my 55 inch 4K Insignia Fire TV bought from Best Buy 2 years ago that I am very happy with the performance and features. In comparison the Samsung has similar picture quality with better color accuracy and much bigger 70 inch screen. However the Samsung has a terrible remote that is not intuitive with buttons clustered together, I am constantly pressing wrong button and takes a while to get back to correct source. Also when you view Samsung TV content you can only set captions to display on the left bottom of the screen! it does not allow reposition to the middle bottom of screen, really Samsung? The Tizen OS has limited apps, is laggy and frequently freezes while watching streaming content which is most annoying, sometimes the freezing is so long I have to unplug the TV and start the streaming content again and endure the countless commercials you have to re-watch until you get back to video before it froze! very aggravating! Since I use high speed 100 Mbps Internet and Ethernet cable to connect and can only get 30-45 Mbps, max download speedtests, I suspect the TV has a substandard cpu and inadequate memory. I have tried all Samsung trouble shooting steps and there are no software updates to date. Very disappointed, Samsung! Samsung also gives you an Internet Browser from 2014 with no updates and it operates intermittently with Video content, sometimes it displays streaming video correctly, other times it will not. Most internet content gives you warning that this Samsung Browser is no longer supported or needs updated version before you can use live chat or display video. Samsung needs to update this 2014 Browser today! Ridiculous to include a 2014 browser in a 2020 TV! especially since the Tizen has limited apps available. By comparison my 2 year old Fire TV has already updated their Silk browser and is able to display all live chat and video streaming content without problem! Take note Samsung! Therefore, I give this TV a "4" rating due to good picture quality if you just use it as a 70 inch Video panel/Monitor with a PC or Roku/Chromecast and don't use the Smart TV features and give the Tizen OS, Internet Browser, and remote control a "1" rating for poor performance and usability, with an overall "3" rating.

I absolutely love this television! I did a lot of studying up on 4K and while this wasn’t what I was initially going to go with I decided on the price to just give it a chance. I’m very happy with my purchase and have recommended to multiple friends and family as well. Yes there are disadvantages in any 4K under a thousand bucks. For what you are getting here I think the value and performance have out exceeded my expectations, most likely going to purchase another for my extra room.

Great TV. Connectivity issues unfortunately. Not sure if automatic Bluetooth connection to any other brands is possible. But does not automatically connect to my LG sound at. Have to manually do it every time. WiFi went in and out so TV needed to be reconnected about 2-3 times before the WiFi connection stuck. This is review is based off of my replacement Samsung TV. Two days after purchasing the TV kept spamming the volume up button without touching the remote. There is a slight chance that downloading the Samsung TV remote app caused the glitch but that also makes the app useless as well. Other than those issues. The TV is awesome.

I upgraded to this TV from an old 40 inch Emerson. What a difference the size makes when gaming! The clear view is amazing and I love the "smart" features. The only con I have seen with this TV is that it only has two HDMI ports, and one of them is an ARC, which meant I had to use one port for my soundbar. I would recommend getting an HDMI splitter so you can have more ports.

Bought this TV last year (2020), and couldn’t be happier. I’m not going to get into technical specs because I’m not so savvy. But this has great picture and sound. I have the Samsung sound bar and it pairs great with it. Mounting to the wall was very easy. Even a caveman could do it. One issue is the menu browsing slows down after a few months. But that’s because it’s Android. Operating system needs to be worked on.

Great image and sound! Looks like when 4k first came out and everything looked like popping out right on front of you and you couldn't tell if it was real or tv. Like the different picture modes, wish it was easier to switch modes quickly like a button on the remote but ok. Like the free "live tv" feature samsung has and the ability to connect to my phone. Upgraded from a vizio brand of a few years, definitely worth it even at this base model 6.

So far, pretty happy with this TV. Haven’t tried too much 4k content. Out of the box it wouldn’t connect to the internet with a wired or wireless connection. Had to reboot the router and also contact customer support via SMS. Support connected to the TV to update the software and change a setting which allowed the TV to connect. Picture is good but at 30deg off center you will notice picture and color degradation. Do not really like the Tizen OS and some popular iptv apps are missing. I do not see ant DSE or side banding as in some reviews on YT. Overall, not bad TV for the size and price.

We love it so far. The sound on it is great. We used to use a surround sound and now we don’t need it. The sound carries throughout the room without turning it up real loud. I love the universal remote. It basically has set itself up for directv and ozarkgo cable boxes. Easy to switch back and forth to them. All the added stuff like prime button and free Samsung channels are great. We can easily access all the things like hulu ,Netflix, Tubi etc.

A great value on a 70 inch television. Great picture and features on a budget. The biggest negative about the TV is the user interface. It is very slow to respond when navigating the menus and can be very frustrating. 2 hdmi inputs are just enough to get you by. I don't have cable so I only have my fire stick, ps5, and xbox series x, but if I had more it would not be at all sufficient. 60hz is alright but I notice it slightly during sports or any scene with speedy movement.

This is a terrific value at the $530 early-BF price. The colors are rich, audio is clear, and smart TV features support the major streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Plex, etc) in addition to many second tier streaming services. I've been able to compare this with similar budget sets from HiSense and TCL, and this Samsung TU6980 has noticeably better colors and contrast. There are of course better, more expensive panels, but to me they're not worth 2-3x the price. This hits the value + quality sweet spot. The built-in TV Guide consolidates streaming services with broadcast TV channels. It resembles the standard cable box UI which is familiar to most people. There are a lot of free streaming channels that Samsung has bundled in. The free content is quite good and a nice complement to broadcast TV channels. Samsung's app ecosystem is much more limited than Google's Android TV. I suspect that Samsung won't be able to keep up, and many apps in the Tizen market will fall behind or disappear. If that happens, plug in a Google TV dongle to the HDMI port and use that instead. Speaking of HDMI ports, this one only has 2 inputs so you'll need a receiver to handle more devices such as game consoles. This Samsung supports HDMI eARC which allows surround sound audio to travel from the TV's internal streaming services to the audio receiver. It works perfect with an older Onkyo TX-NR609. The only things I wish it had were more HDMI ports and built-in Chromecast. It's half the price of the premium sets with those features, and I can work around it with my other equipment. Overall I recommend this set for anyone looking to get a 70" screen on a budget. It's large with very good picture quality.

I really love this TV – excellent picture quality, and lots of built-in (and downloadable) apps to add HBO Max, Hulu, Disney, Discovery, ESPN, etc., to your arsenal of programming. Pairs easily with our Samsung Blu-ray player and sound system – although we will probably go for a bigger sound bar to match the high quality of the TV.

Solid tv. Great resolution and the picture is nice and sharp depending on the source. The smart tv capabilities are pretty intuitive and easy to use. A lot of apps available and easy to find more. Samsung has their own tv channels, and there are quite a few of them, bit nothing amazing. It is really flat and has a small bezel so it looks really sharp on the wall. The main drawback is that there are only 2 HDMI connections, which is not enough for all the devices I have. No composite or component connections, so it makes it hard to try to connect other older devices.

Overall, its a great buy for the $529 sales price. my only nitpick is the interface is clunky and slow. But if you pare this up with the new Chromcast with Google TV like i have, it greatly improves the experience, but its not required since this IS a smart TV. Also of note is the lack of ports. there are only 2 HDMI ports so if you like to have a lot of things connected, this may not be the TV for you. The size and borders of the screen look amazing and modern.
