I would highly recommend Samsung as the smart interface is easy to use and no firestick or roku is required.

And supposedly you can choose to start with the last used app. This would be great since the TV is largely used for Disney+ for a toddler and I'd rather her not see Baywatch or whatever BS pulls up on Samsung TV. But that feature apparently doesn't work. In fact the apps and menu systems are so terrible I'm considering using a Amazon Firestick even thouh this is a supposedly 'smart' TV. Except it only has two HDMI ports and they are being used for a Playstation and for surround sound. Because, oh by the way, you can't control surround sound volume with the TV remote using the optical cable/port.

First issue is that the inputs will automatically switch whenever a device is turned on. That can be solved by disabling Anynet+. The next issue is that the TV will try to detect what type of device you plug into the HDMI, which is great, unless you are using an HDMI switch. Which most people will be doing because who only has 2 things to put into the HDMI? Third issue, the remote will automatically sync to the Xbox and will turn on the Xbox whenever the TV is turned on, it makes no sense. Returning for a different TV which is upsetting because I've always purchased Samsung TV's in the past and have never had any issues.

This TV is perfect for it and it works great. Had one issue when we started to set up streaming, but after going into settings and restarting it has worked great.
