      user726315,

We appreciate your thoughts on the picture quality of Samsung’s DU6950 TV. If the image you’re seeing isn’t to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to adjust.

Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Eco: Provided to save energy
      4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

Disappointed with TV and Return Policy

I purchased the Samsung 75” Class DU6950 Series Crystal UHD 4K Smart Tizen TV (2024) with high expectations, but I am extremely disappointed. The TV shuts off every 30-45 minutes while we’re watching, completely ruining the experience. This issue started from the very beginning, so it’s clearly a defect. When I tried to return the TV, I was told it must be in the original packaging. Who keeps bulky packaging for a 75-inch TV after setting it up? This is an unreasonable policy for a defective product. A company as big as Best Buy should stand behind the products they sell, especially when customers receive defective units. I regret this purchase and the hassle it’s caused. I expected better from both Samsung and Best Buy. I won’t be buying from here again unless they improve their policies and customer service.

      Peterson,

Thank you for letting us know about the issues you are having with your DU6950 TV turning off. For optimal performance, we ask that you please ensure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your DU6950 TV. You can check this by going to Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

You may also want to further optimize performance with the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees up unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care

You may also want to disable some of the TV's energy efficiency functions.

See if Sleep Timer has been enabled. The Sleep Timer automatically turns the TV off after a specific period of time. Go to: Settings > All Settings> General > System Manager > Time > Sleep Timer

If the Sleep Timer has not been enabled, see if Auto Power Off or Off Timer has been enabled and disable it.
      - Settings > All Settings> General > Power and Energy Saving > Auto Power Off
      - Settings > All Settings> General > System Manager > Time > Off Timer

If the TV continues to turn off by itself continuously, please get in touch with Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

      Jazzy,

I'm sorry that your DU6950 TV will not turn on. Please know we are here to help and have a few troubleshooting tips for you to try.

Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. If it is on, it means that your TV is receiving power, and the culprit is likely the remote. Please try to power the TV on through the button below the Samsung logo. If it powers on, I recommend changing the batteries on the remote and possibly replacing the remote.

If the red light below the TV is not on, please try the following:

      1) Unplug the TV from its power source for 30 seconds. Then try to power it on again.
      2) Try a different outlet that you have confirmed works properly
      3) Press the Menu button on your remote. If the Menu appears, then this confirms your TV is powered on. Next, follow these steps:

・Confirm that the TV is set to the same source as the external device.
・Test the HDMI cable. Go to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test. If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required.
・Test different external devices. The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port.

If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it.

Finally, if the red standby light is blinking, please try unplugging the TV for 30 seconds and then try again. Also, confirm that the outlet you are using works with other devices.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

TV was delivered defective!!! Glitches when it turns on and screen seizes while making a fast clicking noise. Takes 3min (yes, I timed and recorded it) to turn on and show the home screen. Adding insult to injury, I had the TV mounted after it was delivered and Best Buy is trying to charge me to have someone take it down in order to do an in home replacement. Mind you, I'm 4'9" and there's no way I can take this TV off the wall. I paid to get it mounted, it's broken, and now I have to pay to get it taken down AND put back up. THIS IS A JOKE!!!!

Had it mounted to brackets. It was a great picture until the front glass fell out in 6 weeks time and was hanging from the electronic tabs on the bottom. Looks like the seal weakened. Took it down so know one would get hurt and returned it to Best Buy. They told me I had the protection plan and that I should put it back and call Geek Squad to the house to evaluate. You can’t be serious. I walked out of the store. Last time I am buying from Best Buy

I was excited to buy this, but the tv has turned out to be a piece of junk. The “functions” won’t stay active. You can be streaming Netflix or Prime, the tv will freeze and you will end up back on the tv Home Screen. You’ll have to reopen the streaming service to continue watching, it’s the same with a console. The screen will freeze and kick you back to the Home Screen, you’ll have to immediately pause your game so you don’t die while your TV resets. It’s is beyond annoying.

Nothing good to be said about this tv like for starters the picutre is so dim that the quality looks horrible and if you have any light in the room with the tv it basicly becomes a mirror with how much reflection it gets. No EARC for soundbars and its only 60hz so for sports or video games this is horrible . I had to sell this tv because i coudnt stand the picure quality after a week and went with a neo qled instead and now im so much happier

      BeatrizH,

Thank you for sharing your experience with low volume. There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.

      1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.

      2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> All Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.

      3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode.

Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might need to be set higher. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.

      CDOrl,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung DU6950 TV. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing a power cycling issue where your TV turns on and off repeatedly.

Please try a few troubleshooting steps that may help solve the issue:

      1) Check the power cable for damage and proper connection.

      2) If the cable is bent, broken, kinked, pinched, pressed excessively (possibly by a heavy object on top of it), or damaged, this is likely the cause of the issue. Replace the cable.

      3) Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

      4) If the power cycling allows enough time between powering on and off, try updating the TV to the latest firmware. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV. Updates can take up to 30 minutes, depending on network speed, so if the TV is not turning off too frequently, try updating the software.

If the issue persists after these steps, then the TV will likely need service. Please contact us so that we can better investigate your issue and assist you with a solution or replacement. You can call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Want to love this tv, however since receiving the screen consistently comes off where we can see the lights from behind the panel on the full left side and half of the top. Seemed poorly made, but is still useable.

TV does not stay connected to WIFI and/or Apps constantly drop and the sound quality is terrible. We have 4 other Samsungs in the house including one behind the same wall as this one. Samsung replaced ALL of the internal parts and its still not working. Best Buy refuses to exchange and/or refund so that we can by a new model because its past "the date." We purchased 2/16/25 and it is only 5/7/25 today.
