$500 cheaper from Sears
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is amazing, but a little annoyed that Sears is selling this same TV for $500 less than Best Buy. Might as well go there to get this.

OK, But Definitely Not Steller
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this new 75” Samsung after coming from a 58” Panasonic plasma which I have owned for 11 years. While a nice upgrade in size, the typical picture quality and, especially the sound, was disappointing. I primarily use OTA and nothing more than a non-4K Roku for my TV viewing sources so I watch a lot of SD as well as HD OTA. With a very high quality OTA HD input, the picture quality is OK. However, lesser resolutions are not up scaled as well as I would like. The degree of control over sharpness, contrast and sound is pretty minimal and very lacking in comparison to the old Panasonic. I have played with every video and sound setting I could find and they were all pretty abysmal. The TV’s bass was so minimal it was non-existent. Boosting the two lowest frequency settings in the equalizer seemed to have no effect nor did the other sound choices. The sound was so bad it was totally unacceptable to me until I bought an inexpensive soundbar (Megacra) with a small sub woofer which made the overall sound decent. In regard to the soundbar, I could not get it to work with the Samsung over Bluetooth although the speakers worked fine on Bluetooth with my phone. I was able to connect the soundbar to the Samsung TV with an optical cable. I later managed to connect a Bluetooth headset with the TV. Other irritations are related to the non-intuitive menu structures which makes finding what you want very difficult at times. The saving grace is once you have located the option and noted its exact description it is much easier to find again using the Bixby Voice. Just don’t try to look for something like “signal strength” which Bixby can’t locate unless you use the exact menu option “setting signal information”. All in all, I don’t think I would recommend the Samsung UN75NU8000FXZA. With addition of the soundbar I am basically just OK with the TV although I would recommend anyone interested in it to really compare competing models. It’s really a shame that you can’t compare one brand to another in the store using the same input source and have the opportunity to try the TV’s settings before you buy. But I guess we aren’t allowed to make a really informed choice anymore.

Great, when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As above, it's great when it works. Already had the motherboard replaced once and now it looks like I need another one. Have had the tv for a little over a year so I'll likely need to pay for the 2nd Mobo replacement. As of right now, I can't even factory reset the tv because the feature is greyed out (yes I'm connected to the internet). I'll update with the cost for the 2nd Mobo when I get it. Oh and so you know, you can't delete sources once they are on there so once a device isn't recognized, be prepared to factory reset everything.

Not impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very disappointed with this tv. Compared to my older Samsung un55es7500f the nu8000 isn't much of an improvement. My older tv is brighter and it also look shaper. The upscaling isn't impressive either. 4K HDR content is very dark I'm forced to enable contrast enhancer. Contrast enhancer make the HDR content look washed out. I contact Samsung about this issue, they stated that the tv was designed for contrast enhancer to be set to high. So pretty much this tv is useless without contrast enhancer. I would not recommend this tv. Samsung's customer service is unhelpful. I may be returning this tv very soon. My Eco solution is also turned off with Eco on the picture quality is degraded.

I am very sorry to see that you are not completely happy with the picture quality of this TV.
Our 2018 NU8000 TV incorporates innovative features for pristine picture quality. Auto Game Mode and Freesync support enable smooth, stutter-free gaming experience, while the Ultra Slim Array reveals hidden details with deep contrast levels. HDR 10 Plus automatically matches the dynamic range of the content to the TV on a scene-by-scene basis to maximize the capabilities of the TV, providing the best possible picture.
Please know that the TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer the signal is to 4K, the better it will look coming out.
There are also several preset picture modes and many custom settings for adjusting images to your liking.
1) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
2) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
3) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
4) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
In addition, the quality of the image on your screen depends on the source and the connection.
HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing; and when possible, 4K content will provide the best picture quality.
The quality of streaming content depends largely on the speed of your internet, as most content providers have adaptive streaming that will automatically adjust the image quality based on the network bandwidth.

Sound reverts to TV not soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I was very happy with the TV, but the sound periodically reverts back to the TV speakers. I even got a Samsung soundbar (HW-N650/ZA). Contacted Samsung. Tried something different. Thought it was solved, but it started happening again. Searched the net and it seems to be an issue with Samsungs. We have other makes of TV with soundbars and this has never happened. Frustrating to have to continuously get the soundbar going. And others turning on the TV don’t even realize they’re not getting the optimum sound. Any suggestions, let me know. If I could solve that, I would recommend the TV.

Posted .Robby,
I am sorry that you have had issues with the audio control.
The TV sound will always default to the last state the TV was in when the TV was turned off.
So for example, if the TV was in HDMI ARC output mode to an external soundbar when it was turned off, then it will return to that same state when it is turned back on (it will turn on the soundbar). However, if the TV was in internal speaker mode when the TV was turned off, then when you turn the TV back on, it will default to internal TV speakers (it will not turn on the soundbar back on).

Rip Off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money, this is the worst TV experience I have had with Samsung and Best Buy. The TV is 2 years old and two lines, one horizontal and one vertical suddenly show up when turning the TV on. Solution - a $1,700 repair bill.
