GREAT picture - POOR quality control

I was on the market for a high end TV to replace my Sony X940C that was getting too long in the tooth and after seeing a ton of professional reviews praising Samsung Q9fn as the best LED TV on the market, decided to pull the trigger on it. I got the 75 inch version. While the picture was indeed impressive with high contrast, low reflections and superb brightness and "pop", the quality control was a let down. It had 5 dead pixels spread around the edges of the TV and a bit too much DSE on light backgrounds. So, I rented a truck (again) and headed back to the store to exchange it. This time I asked the manager to open the new panel to inspect it before leaving the store. Sure enough there were still dead pixels on the new panel too: one on the right side by the edge of the panel and another large one on the bottom middle area. I ended up taking the new panel after a discount, but am very disappointed in Samsung quality control for their flagship TV. I believe the panels for 75 inch model are outsourced but that it not an excuse to have such defects on a brand new $5k item (actually two different units). I would definitely be very apprehensive about recommending this TV to anyone and will consider going back to SONY for my next TV upgrade.

Was able to get a good deal on an open box 75 Q9fn and got to test it out last night and WOW. I'm coming from the 2015 Samsung ju7100 and it blew me away! The black levels are crazy! I ran a few OLED demos and the black stayed black with no blooming that I could see. Tested out a few HDR movies and good lord its amazing! Good job Samsung!! Very VERY happy!!

Great while it lasted. Needs cable and motherboard. 5 whole years for a TV that was 5380 bucks.

Maybe I just got a dud..

My Q9FN75 is just a $5000 dud. If I could post a picture of the pixilation and poor image quality on my T.V. to the best buy review site best buy would not sell another unit. It is BAD, like what am I even looking at, there is a giant mess of pixels on my screen that don't look like anything BAD. If there are words on the screen, the word are barely legible. Football??? Where is the ball, all is see is a smear or blob and it looks like it is in 3 places all at once. I have spent hours scouring youtube reviews trying to adjust picture setting to recommended levels and there really is nothing I can seem to find that make it better. Also, I purchased the $1500 sound bar surround sound system that goes with the T.V. and it has issues too. Bad sound quality, distorted to the point where I just turn it off an use the tv speakers. I have been a Samsung buyer forever but not sure what happened with this one.

Had tv for 3 days and already had the techs back out to work on it. Plays for about an hour then shuts down. No more Samsung for me. I’ll be at Best Buy in the morning to get my $6000 back.
