    Audio lag with Xbox

This tv is stunning but does not handle eARC Atmos audio from an Xbox Series X to a sound system properly. There is a noticeable delay regardless of game mode on/off, and even with audio delay set to 0 and enabling passthrough on the TV. Great TV otherwise, but seriously reconsider if you plan to hook up an Xbox. Now I have to decide betweek returning this TV (inconvenient) or buying an AV receiver just to work around this major flaw.

      SquanchyC137,

We appreciate your feedback on the lip sync issues you’re experiencing with your S89C TV. This could possibly be a source issue, but if you’re hearing an audio delay across all sources/channels and you have a receiver, soundbar, or other speakers connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to increase the audio delay. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay

Our 2023 TVs have an audio Pass-Through feature, which allows the audio signal to be sent out unprocessed to an external soundbar or receiver connected to the TV. The external device then processes the audio, thereby eliminating the added step of processing by the TV, which adds delay.

On your TV, go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through

Please also be sure you’re running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

If you’ve tried these steps and your issue persists, please contact us for troubleshooting and a Support agent will gladly assist. You can reach us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

      Frank,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your S89C TV’s image quality. The TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer your content is to 4K, the better the image will look on the screen.

Here are some tips to help improve the picture clarity:
      1) HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing.
      2) If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box.
      3) Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receiver, IPTV, and set-top box to UHD or HD.
      4) You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, and more by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
      5) Choose a Picture Mode by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and choose from Dynamic, Movie, or Filmmaker Mode.

Below the Back button and above the Netflix hotkey, you'll see a thin rocker button with (+) on the top and (-) below; simply push up on this button to increase, and down to decrease volume.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

This 77 inch Samsung OLED TV is the 7th large flat-panel TV I've owned. I've owned Plasma, LCD, and LCD+LED flat panel TVs. This OLED model is by far the best I've had. 77 inches sounds big - and it is - but this one is so thin that it eventually looks less obtrusive than I ever imagined it could. Picture quality is absolutely top-notch. After lots of experimenting with settings, to me the best overall picture quality was obtained by selecting Filmmaker mode, disabling auto screen brightness from the eco settings, and turning off all picture enhancement settings. This left a natural-looking picture with great color and contrast. The best part of OLED technology is that the black levels are fantastic. Blacks are truly black, and shades of gray in shadows are far better than you can get with an LCD panel. It's so good that now I can hardly stand to watch any of my LCD TVs... Peak brightness is also great, and HDR content looks fabulous (even with no Doby Vision support). I find HDR and HDR 10 content to be just as good as Dolby Vision, anyway. Also, OLED screens have great off-axis brightness and clarity, so you can sit very much to the side of the screen and still get a bright, sharp picture. Sound quality from the built-in speakers is not too bad, certainly much better than most other flat panel TVs. It is passable and the amount of bass is not bad compared to other TVs. But, I still use a decent soundbar with it and I think most people spending this much money on a TV would also use at least a good quality soundbar if not a full-blown home theater setup. My soundbar is an older Bose model that always had trouble connecting properly with any of my TVs (including older Samsung TVs). I'm glad to say it works flawlessly with the eARC connection on this Samsung. Plugged it in and it just worked, no setup required. Speaking of setup, a lot of TVs are a pain. This Samsung was super simple. It walked me through every step, setting up my various streaming services using my smartphone and QR codes to make it as easy as possible. It also figured out all by itself how to make the remote work with my Dish satellite box. The remote is a little unconventional and I wish it was backlit or glow-in-the-dark because the buttons are similar in size. You do get used to it after a while and then it is easy enough to use. Overall this is the best TV I've ever had - and I've had a lot! It's not exactly inexpensive but it is worth every penny. Very satisfying.

BEAUTIFUL... astounding difference from my old TV but... it came with 2 LEFT FEET! QC missed that one. So I ended up spending another $150 on a wall mount. I can play my Xbox gamepass games without turning on my console which is a HUGE plus to me.

      AntwanJ,

We appreciate your thoughts on the picture quality of Samsung’s S89C TV. If the image you’re seeing isn’t to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to adjust.

Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Eco: Provided to save energy
      4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

The TV is great!! BEST BUY SUCKS!!!! Buy your tv somewhere else!!!! I am tired of these money grubbing companies changing their reward programs. Best Buy used to have a great free rewards program where you bought something from Best Buy and you received points to redeem toward certificates to pay for future purchases. Evidently that has ended and now you have to spend a minimum of $500 and it has to be on a Best Buy credit card!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!! This is all about Best Buy executives padding their profit margins and sticking it to the consumer. I will be buying all my electronics somewhere else from now on.

    Stay Away from Samsung

This TV feels like a deal, but it will fail on you right after the warranty expires I guarantee it. Our has a greenish hue in the top right, a single line of pixels that seem to have a different intensity and most frustratingly the screen will blink off randomly, internally reset and then come back on. We've had to rewind so many shows. Best Buy is no help either, they only offer to send someone out to take a look for $125 and then say the TV should be replaced or offer an expensive repair. This is my second awful experience with Samsung products and Samsung service. Please stay away from this brand, you have better things to spend your time worrying about.
