Beautiful TV but crappy parts and service

On February 1st, 2025, the TV would not turn on. Did several of the troubleshooting checks and ended up having to go through the Samsung Warranty. I did not buy the Best Buy service warranty. Anyway, Samsung initially indicated they need a month to come out to look at it. Not 100% sure what the issue is but pretty sucky for a new TV to go out after 2 months.

Lemon 77” OLED

New part installed. Next day same problem now we are waiting for repair service again! Do not purchase the tv! Constantly resetting

Broken less than 90 days after purchase

If it worked, im sure it would be great but, the picture quality is the worst ive ever seen. Its just black. It's so black, that it looks like a black hole i just threw my wallet into.

Samsung 77"S90D colors and sound are bad.

It seems to be dominated by blue colors. I tested the TV with Samsung support and sent them photos. They were not able to fix it. Also, the TV sound is terrible, but the Sonos Arc sound was acceptable. I have attached sample photos of my new TV and the same movie photos of my 16 years old Samsung TV.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture and sound quality of your S90DTV. To ensure you’ve got the latest updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
3. Eco: Provided to save energy
4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).
If the sound is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several sound settings you can adjust to suit your personal preferences.
• Sound Modes may better meet your personal preferences. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Mode, or Expert Settings to fine-tune and customize your sound.
• Adaptive Sound will also further optimize sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings.
Should you choose to add a Samsung Soundbar to your TV, please know that our Q-Series Soundbars (such as the HW-Q600C) feature Q-Symphony which will synchronize with the speakers of your TV for an immersive 3D sound experience.

So Far So Good!

As others have mentioned it has really great contrast and you can see the picture from anywhere. Whether you are directly in front of the TV or on the side it really does look great. No distortion or glare really at all. I have this in my main living area with several windows and this TV does better than the QLED Hisense I returned. Virtually no glare from lights or windows when its bright outside. Football games in 4K are awesome as well as Netflix and any streaming you do. it upscales the image really good and had great contrast with virtually no halo around images. One gripe I have is when the TV is first turned on it automatically goes to the Samsung Homepage. I prefer to use Apple TV because I like the remote and interface better, but It would be nice if it would automatically go to the HDMI port that was used previously and not the homepage. Also regarding Apple TV with this TV. I thought the TV was having the black screen thing happen as it was just randomly turning off/on by itself. However it was my Apple TV and it needed to be re-set. Read up on it, unplugged everything for 30 sec and reattached it all (including both sides of the HDMI cords) and it was back to normal. Scared me for a second as these TV's have a tendency for the electronic boards to go out. The TV is very heavy and super thin so if you mount it you will need some help. I would recommend putting on some vinyl gloves to reduce the smudges from the oils on your hands also. I had to re-mount the TV lower and had already removed the protective plastic so wiping the screen off was a pain. I've had the TV for a few weeks and really like it. I was nervous about the possibility of the board going out, but with the BestBuy deal for $50 and getting 60 days to return i thought it was worth the price to try it.

This TV strikes a great balance between cutting-edge performance and sleek design. Picture Quality The QD-OLED panel delivers stunning visuals. Colors are vibrant, blacks are truly deep, and the contrast is exceptional. Whether I’m watching movies, sports, or gaming, the clarity and richness of the image are consistently impressive—even in brighter rooms. Smart Features The Tizen OS is packed with apps and features, including cloud gaming and voice control. It’s not the fastest interface out there, but it’s intuitive and gets the job done. I do wish it supported Dolby Vision, but HDR10+ still looks fantastic. Sound & Design The built-in speakers are decent, but I paired it with a soundbar for a more immersive experience. The TV itself looks sleek and modern, with a slim profile and a sturdy pedestal stand that fits well in my setup. Minor Drawbacks • No Dolby Vision support • Tizen OS can be a bit sluggish at times • No ATSC 3.0 tuner for future-proofing over-the-air broadcasts Verdict If you’re looking for a premium OLED experience without going all the way to flagship pricing, the Samsung S90D 77" is a fantastic choice. Great Higher End OLED

Of course, fantastic contrast and surprisingly good colors out the box (being that it's a Samsung and usually come very colorful)

I just upgraded to the Samsung 77” S95D OLED (2024 model) and I’m completely speechless. This thing is a masterpiece. Picture Quality: Perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and colors that literally pop off the screen. Watching Dune: Part Two in Dolby Vision felt like being on Arrakis – the sand practically glowed and the night scenes were inky black with zero blooming. HDR highlights hit over 2,000 nits in small windows; explosions and lightsabers in Star Wars look dangerously bright in the best way possible. Gaming: I’m running a PS5 and Series X through it and the 4K/144Hz + VRR + ALLM combo is flawless. Motion is buttery smooth, input lag is basically nonexistent, I can finally game in a bright living room without reflections ruining everything. Design & Build: Razor-thin bezels, the One Connect box keeps cable mess hidden, and it looks like a piece of art on the wall. The slim profile (even without the external box) is ridiculous – it’s basically a floating window. Sound: It’s not going to replace a dedicated soundbar/setup, but it’s easily the best out-of-box TV audio I’ve ever heard. Voices stay crystal clear even during loud scenes. Smart features: The interface is clean, and Samsung Gaming Hub + Xbox Cloud Gaming works perfectly, and it has every app you could want (Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, etc.) all in native 4K HDR. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you want the absolute pinnacle of TV technology right now, this is it. I’ve owned LG and Sony in the past, and the Samsung has officially taken the crown for me. If you have the space and the budget, buy it. You won’t regret it. 10/10, would buy again in a heartbeat.

Best picture quality, worst reliability

The colors are vibrant and accurate. The Tizen OS not nearly as nimble as Goggle. The biggest fault of this TV is quality control. The TV died after 5 weeks. The problem that is well documented with countless internet complains on every forum were people reported their TV ding between few weeks to a few months and the culprit is the power supply board that fails, it is a manufacturer fault they did not provided the proper Power supply board so it is a lottery on the S90D and the S95D specially on the 77 inch models. It is a shame because other wise no other TV can surpass the picture quality.

Steal of a deap

I was able to get this TV in excellent open box condition at an absolute insane steal of a deal. This was Samsungs 2nd best TV of 2024. Many reviewers placed this TV as their #1 choice for 2024 & 2025 because of its pricing and quality. Perfect blacks, excellent HDR, and perfect for gaming. Beautiful design. Extremely happy with this purchase. Doubt I’ll ever find an upper end TV at the price I got this for. Always check outlet TVs before going for floor models.

I'm very glad I did. The brightness is outstanding as is the contrast and picture stabiity/quality. There are so many more positives than with non-quantum dot OLEDs and such outstanding resolution that I don't know where to begin.

Great OLED TV, dubious on the blown power board

I use an Amazon Cube, so I cannot speak to the Samsung software. Unfortunately, this TV experienced a catastrophic power board failure at 1 year and 1.4 Months. We'll have to see how Samsung handles this given how expensive this model is.
