Should have lasted longer for the price we paid

The TV did well for the first 4.5 years (except when it would turn itself off randomly). Now that we have had it 5 years, it just stopped working (no picture, black screen with a faint blue/black light); no warning. At this rate, we paid about $850/year for this TV. We could have purchased a much cheaper TV every year at this rate. We will not purchase another Samsung TV.

Outstanding!

The sharpness and vivid colors convinced me I had to have it. It pushed my 4k 70” tv into another room. The setup was great once I connected to my network and I was up and running quickly. It seemless connected to all my other devices is a flash. I could not be happier with the purchase

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we have/had an 65" samsung 8 series and let me say it is a great tv but i was wanting more from it and it fell short in games and 4k movies. well always wanted the largest screen tv too. this one has both great display properties and size. as of having it for 3 weeks i have no complaints at all. i am just wondering when i can get rid of box...

Great set ruined by severe ghosting/motion blur...

Now for the deal killer.. the 82" panel suffers from severe motion blur on moving objects, especially visible on high contrast/solid color backgrounds. For example, Ice Hockey, Snowboarding, Basketball, Animated shows, and video games... all have horrible ghost trails on moving objects against white/solid backgrounds. It's absolutely horrible... my research online seems to indicate problem is limited to the 82" panel, so look elsewhere if you are looking at that size. When I contacted Samsung, they said this was accepted and normal for this set. And so, despite it's beauty and the great deal I got, this set is going back. Shame on Samsung for lack of quality control on this panel!

The speaker is poor quality, sounds like you are in a tunnel. I have changed the settings from standard, dynamic, etc. but still not a full sound. It has been up and running for three weeks now and all is good. Great picture and looks good in the room from all angles. Outside of the sound good product

Beautiful TV

Purchased this TV w/ a Sonos surround system (Playbar+Subwoofer+2 Sonos Ones). You definitely need to purchase a good sound system with this TV for a better than movie theater experience. Love this TV

Tv fills the room nicely and thought it actually would bigger. Picture looks sharp but its edge lit so not on par as other higher end models but it makes up for it in size.

I’m upgrading from a 40 inch so it’s a huge difference in size but I noticed that when I watch football it’s not as sharp and somewhat blurry. I got it on sale but if I had paid full price I wouldn’t be as happy. Still good overall.

Talk about being able to just unbox nad plug in! Comes with AppleTV onboard! Netflix, YouTube! We have been watching it for a week now and have not even hooked it up to cable yet! Haven’t been able to figure out the ambient mode yet, however its in a temporary place right now. Super easy to set up with your Smarthings account and control via Alexa! Just stop looking and buy this TV.

Utterly bad user design experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro; Great Look, superb picture quality Cons: The usermenu, apps, setup are really bad once any of the advanced features are to be configured. Let's start with the home screen: Full of useless Apps and advertising for more Apps. Most Apps can be removed, but they eventually come back. Advertising for new Apps cannot be turned off or removed. If all you want is run an Apple TV and a Playstation you are out of luck. It will force other TV apps and built in programs on you. To configure the TV properly you need to use the Samsung SmartThings App. Thats where it gets really bad. On iOS e.g. iPhone XS Max most of the functionality needed to configure is actually broken and will not work. Some screens have the user controls literally outside the iPhone screen area and you can only kill the App or be stuck on that screen forever. The SmartThings App insists to perform another setup and will always crash. Have contacted Samsung support and other than rebooting the SmartThings Hub on the TV have been of no help. As beautiful as the picture quality is, as bad is the user experience. A pattern of Samsung products as of late.

dont bother if you want it to support PS4

Everything went smoothly minus the ps4 pro. It WILL NOT CONNECT to ps4 pro, after more than 2 hours with samsung tech support they said they were going to send me to "teir 2" and someone would reach out to me in 2 days. UNACCEPTABLE. This TV will not work with your Playstation, so dont bother, for the amount of money this TV costs this is UNACCEPTABLE. At a glance this is a known issue, wish I would have researched more before buying. GOING TO RETURN. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Three years later…..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV in Nov. 2018, and it had been working fine until July 2022. About a third of the left side of the TV is dark. After making several inquiries, calling Samsung, and researching on the internet about this issue it seems to be a common problem. Of course I am past my warranty for the TV and there is nothing Samsung will do. I spent too much money for this TV to last on 3 years.

Issues Already
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I purchased this TV yesterday from Frank at Magnolia Best Buy Costa Mesa and also purchased the 64gb Apple TV. Already have issues. When watching with Apple TV Hulu, it keeps exiting for no reason to main menu. It happens consistently so I tried to do a factory reset, same issue. I contacted online Samsung support who had no different troubleshooting. Now they have organized a service call for a technician to assess. This is a joke. It’s literally been a day. Frank Martinez I believe you should be made aware of this issue to advise customers accordingly.

The preinstalled apps and shortcut function buttons are part of our Smart TV platform designed to deliver simple, easy, and customized entertainment experience for our customers.
Customized ads appear in a small icon on the lower left of the TV screen and are unobtrusive unless a consumer clicks on them. Consumers can choose to opt-out of receiving interest-based ads at any time through the settings menu. Should a consumer opt not to receive interest-based ads, the small icon will still be present, but the ads will be generic and not based on the consumer’s specific interests.

4K Streaming NOT Supported
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung 4K Televisions CANNOT stream 4K content via their browser (so you can't watch fubo.tv 4K content). From their support staff "Actually our TV's browsers are different then the usual browsers, for live streaming the flash players are needed which are not compatible with our TV models." Please note this if you may ever want to stream 4K content on a Samsung television, you may be out of luck.
