Customers are saying

Customers regard the 85" Class Q90T Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV's picture quality as absolutely amazing, with spectacular colors and a large screen. They appreciate the easy setup and user-friendly interface. While some find the sound quality satisfactory, others consider it a drawback. The TV's weight and price are also mentioned as potential concerns, although many believe the higher price is justified by the excellent features.

The installers did an okay job except that they bumped my outdoor Rail and broke it. They also could have offered to take the very heavy box that the TV came in and place it somewhere downstairs. Seemed like they were in a hurry like on piece work. To be fair we did ask them to move it up after they suggested a lower spot that I really wanted.

I purchased this TV based on the 2019 model specifications expecting it to support a No Gap mount and expecting the one connect box. Wow... I received the 2020 Model. The 2020 model does not have the one connect box. The 2020 Model does not support the no gap mount. I contacted Samsung on ordering this TV, 5/3/2020, and was told which nogap mount to order. I ordered that mount and paid for Fed Ex shipping so it would be here for Best Buy installation. TV arrived, surprise! No one connect and No Gap mount not supported! In between my order and the TV arrival the Samsung website was updated to show the "new" 2020 model(s). Why would you support an art mode in a TV but not support a no gap mount? Oh, because you now only support the no gap mount in the 8K tv! Neat way to disappoint your customers Samsung! I asked Best Buy if I could get a 2019 model, never heard back. The installers said that they could do a recessed mount to make it no gap. OK that sounds awesome, lets do it. I have not heard back on what that will cost, as it is extra. OK, fine, but at least get back to me with a number. Now I am out fed ex money for a useless mounting bracket, and I am still waiting on someone to tell me the price/install date to make it appear no gap. The TV sure looks good on the coffee table blocking the view of my electronic fireplace.... Not a happy camper...

      Howard,

I am very sorry for the confusion of No Gap Wall Mount compatibility and inconveniences you have had.

Please know that we currently do not offer any No Gap Wall Mount for 2020 Q90T series.
We do have large size bracket and full tilt wall mounts for 85inch Q90T:
#WMN8000SXT/ZA - Large Size Bracket Wall Mount
      #WMN5870XT/ZA - Large Size Full-Tilt Wall Mount

These two wall mounts have just launched and should be available at most retailers starting in early June.

Beautiful picture in low light room

I bought this to replace my 92" Mitsubishi 1080p TV. This TV is so much lighter than the old Mitsubishi - it can easily be lifted by two adults. Assembly is easy - you have to put the stand on, so you have a few screws. Don't just rip the box open - it is designed to keep the TV upright while you attach the stand. On that note: A lot of the weight is the stand itself. When you unbox it, that stand can fall out and I can personally say it HURTS when it lands on your toes. So be careful unboxing. The TV itself - I run it in a dark theater room with no windows. The TV is bright - night and day different than my old 1080p TV. Black levels are beautiful - no funny gray imaging or washout or anything. Just crisp deep black colors. The TV turns on almost instantly - it is really nice. When you plug in an HDMI device, the TV can auto recognize it. For example, it auto recognized my Nintendo Switch and my DirecTV receiver. Rather than thinking in terms of inputs - it makes the Switch and the DirectTV just feel more like an app. So I have a list of apps such as DirecTV, Switch, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. The built in apps are great - I didn't have to plug in my FireTV. Setting up the apps and logging in is fast - use the QR codes they give you and authenticate with your phone. The audio sounded nice but we quickly redirected it to our surround sound system. But the little we used it, the built in sound really filled the room. We setup the Alexa support. I use that for turning off the TV and it is quite handy, although Alexa is a bit slow to respond. It also does not support the intercom feature than my Echo devices do - which is our most used feature on Alexa. Hopefully a software update will correct that. The TV dropped to $3499 after I bought it so that was a bit disappointing (the price match window is pretty short on "appliances" at Best Buy). Watch out for retailers charging more for it. As of the writing of this review, Best Buy has it for $3499.

OUTSTANDING TV This purchase wasn't a need, just a want. I went from a 70 to 85" TV and the quality is Amazing. I didn't think I'd like a remote without numbers but the voice channel changing is so easy to use it's a non-starter. Setup was very easy, and the connection to my other 11.2 surround sound system was effortless. You will need two people to set this on the wall as it is very heavy. Glad I got it now as you can no longer find it. Eric

What a great TV for picture and design! It’s beautiful! I have it hooked up to my 7.3 surround system. You can find a great review of this TV here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q90t-qled I’m a little disappointed Best Buy dropped the price by $1200+ within 2 months of me purchasing. However, they did refund me half of that while I was in the return period (just 45 days). It’s 100% worth the price at $3999, and not bad when at $4599 (what I ultimately paid).

So far so good, had the Geek Squad installed the TV and everything went as planned, The two that came for the installation were amazing, well worth the money. The TV is amazing, the quality of the picture breath taking, essay to configure and great for watching sports, it is almost like being at the games. Apprehensive about spending the money but well worth the investment. Will keep my fingers crossed that it remains that way. Oh and the sound is pretty good, still debating about a sound bar.

Our old Sharp Aquos tv died a few weeks back, we thought about repairing it but it is 8 years old and did not have any of the new features of the newest tvs and it was showing it's age. I researched the most current TVs and decided to get the Q90T due to great reviews online. It is slightly larger than our old tv at 85 vs 80 but it has added new life to everything with it's amazing picture and tons of features. Very happy with my purchase.

Samsung 85 inch TV - Room with Several Windows

Bought this TV to replace my old 65 inch Samsung TV. After debating quite a bit between OLED TV and QLED TV, went for this one since I was placing the TV in my family room with lot of windows and natural light. Samsung QLED TVs are known for being the brightest TVs and this TV does stand to the statement, sometimes too bright but it does help fade out any reflections on the screen. the TV has good contrast and does a good job with the blacks. The stand works well for placing a soundbar right below the screen. The TV has an intelligent mode which automatically adjusts the TV settings (both picture and audio) to the room conditions at the moment, this is a good feature. Best part of this TV is the sound quality, the sound distribution is awesome, huge difference when compared to my previous TV which is only 3 years old. The only reason I have not given it a 5 star is because this TV's picture quality is very close to OLED but still lacks somewhat to the picture quality of an OLED. Overall happy with this TV so far, considering my room settings this seemed to be the best option out there with decent pricing.

The 4k picture is an improvement over the earlier 4k sets. Newer generation remote is not as easy to use as a prior generation that had a cursor on the TV screen (significant step backwards in user interface). With that being said, this set still meets my need better than competing brands.

Bought this TV for $3720. I thought it was a good deal at the time of the purchase. This TV is has a great picture and I really like the slim side profile. Unlike other tv's, this tv's side profile is the same thickness on all sides from top to bottom. Appx 1" thick. The tv stand is of high quality too. I used a thin profile (1" off the wall) mount to get the tv as close to the wall as possible with the smallest gap and it looks great. Also, for it being tv speakers, the speakers are pretty amazing.

Big TV, and an incredible picture to be so large. I am sitting about 16 feet from it. Better than the LG NanoCell. Almost OLED quality, without the OLED price. The interface is less clunky than than previous Samsung TVs I have owned. I like the nice clean, simple remote. The downside to the remote is the universal feature. I have to be really close to my Yamaha receiver for it to pick up the remote signal. It is actually frustrating, so I need to keep my received remote handy to adjust the volume. Would be nice if there was a source button, instead of having to scroll to it.

I am very pleased with this set. The contrast, HDR and blacks are the highlight of this set. This is a close as you can get to OLED. It is near OLED level quality! The trade off to go with this vs OLED is a larger set and near zero risk of burn-in. Dark movies like John Wick and Blade Runner look amazing with great shadow and dark scenes detail. Gaming works very well with no lag and great performance overall. The only downside to go with this set is the absence of Dolby Vision support. Also the TV does has Apple TV app built in.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for the wife and I; I have been a Samsung TV owner for over 13 years and I have to give them kudos as this is the best one yet! The picture is fantastic the back lighting LED really makes a difference in the colors and the black are truly black and not a shadowy black/grey. And to add to the technical functionality of the TV is outstanding when using the SmartThings App. We are really enjoying this TV!!!

Pro: I just received my TV and I must say it is truly amazing. The 4k scaling works great and will make any old movies or low res movies look awesome. The clarity is superb and sounds good too! Con: Heavy, also I ding one star off because it came with missing screws for the TV stand mount. Also, the box was damaged on one side.... I am still not sure if there is any damage to the TV but will monitor it closely for the next few days. Also, the TV GUI navigation seems slightly slow for what it is worth...it takes a while to search and navigate, load up apps, etc.

    Hdmi audio pass thru issues

The TV has an incredible picture. I am 100% satisfied with the picture quality and performance. This review serves as a warning to those who intend to use this TV with a high end surround sound system or sound bar along with a gaming console or blu-ray/4k player. For whatever reason, whether on accident, or unknowingly. This Samsung TV software does NOT allow you to "pass thru" your audio from an external hdmi source, in my case the new xbox series x. The TV's audio settings FORCE you to use the tv's internal audio processing before sending the signal to your receiver or soundbar (not correct). This causes audio playback issues, in my case an audio delay. I want to plug my xbox series x directly into the hdmi 4 port on the TV to take advantage of the 120hz hdmi 2.1. and then "pass thru" my audio via hdmi 3 (E-arc) to my Marantz receiver. I have spoke to Samsung about this, and they are baffled. They say they will try and fix the issue of not being able to choose "pass thru" in the audio settings in a software update, but they have no idea if/when that will be released. If a fix isn't released within my return window, I'll be forced to return the TV for a different manufacturer that hopefully gives you all of these features that you are paying for. Disappointed in you Samsung.

      Burton:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q90T TV. I am very sorry you are experiencing issues turning on the Pass-Through feature. Please know that our 2020 TVs do have an audio Pass-Through feature. This feature allows the audio signal to be sent out unprocessed to an external Soundbar or receiver connected to the TV. The external Soundbar or receiver then processes the audio, thereby eliminating the added step of processing by the TV, which adds delay.

To activate this feature on 2020 TVs, go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings >Digital Output Audio Format > set to Pass-Through

If you have tried this and your issue persists, please reach out to Samsung Customer Support so that we can provide further troubleshooting.

I Purchesed this TV replacing my Vizio P-1 and WoW! This tv performs superb in all categories. From Netflix to XBox one this TV is a real performer. You’ll here that it’s not as good as the Q90r but you will be pleasantly surprised that it’s not only equal to but in my opinion better. The blacks and blooming around words or pictures is almost non existent. If you’re looking for a tv for gaming I highly recommend this Q90T. You will not go wrong with this TV

    4K vs. 8K…

I can’t say enough about this TV. It was expensive. No doubt. I saved and struggled, but it was so worth it. I’ve had two Vizio’s, both which the sound stops intermittently, and the backlight went out after 4 years. The color and quality of this TV is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Let’s talk about 4K vs. 8K. Most movies are produced in 4K. You can buy the 8K. But you won’t see a difference in picture quality. Save the added expense and get the 4K. The picture quality is breathtaking still. I recommend to have BB install. The first time we had it delivered and attempted to do it ourselves. It’s extremely heavy. The glass screen is very thin and cracks easily. One small twist, and it’s ruined. So pay the professionals who are insured. Secondly, the sound is ok. It’s a 25% improvement from the Vizio. I recommend the Samsung sound bar. My Vizio sound bar wouldn’t stay connected to the Samsung. You can make it work. But it’s a lot of trouble to keep reconnecting to get forward facing sound. The smart features are easy to use, to watch Prime, Netflix, YouTube, and the other movie apps. My son loves to take it over to play Xbox. Game mode feels like 4D. Is it worth the expense? That’s an easy Yes. I forget now how much it cost. :)
