I recently transfered my operating system from HDD to SSD and had a bit of confusion at first but with the right program I was able to create a clone to my SSD. I am glad I did this. Windows take about average 5 seconds to boot from off and the couple of games I did have on the SSD load times were significantly faster. I went with samsung as they also have a 5 year warranty with their product compared to others which are only 3. Great purchase and I suggest to wait on a sale for SSD before grabbing one which I had done. This doesn't come with any screws for mounting or a mounting bracket or cables to hook it up.

I am happy with the speed and the Magician software. Zero issues and tons of performance. If you don't have the money for the Pro series, Evo is by no means a let down.

You have to replace your old Hard drive... This will improve the speed of your computer without any doubt. It is easy to transfer the info from the old HDD to the SDD using the software developed by samsung that you can download for free. Follow this steps: Buy a usb hdd docking station and the SSD with higher capacity than the used space in your actual HDD, search for Samsung Data Migration Software, install the software, connect the SSD to the docking station, clone your old HDD, replace the HDD and that's it. A faster computer with no changes in files or programs. Do it.

These finally went on sale for only $10 more than the San Disk we normally get. Have been updating all PC's to SSD at work this past year and these Samsung ones have better benchmark test results than the San Disk we normally get. Very satisfied with purchase.

I am honestly glad I made the jump to having a larger SSD in my system coming from a 90GB drive. There is absolutely no reason not to have an SSD hard drive in your PC or laptop, especially at this price point. You will not look back once you make the plunge. Super fast, and Samsung is a very reliable brand name. The Samsung Magician software that you can get with this is also pretty neat, helping you optimize your drive even further. If you do not own a SSD currently, what are you waiting for?

The solid state drive is preforming fantastically. My boot times have gone from over a minute or two to less than thirty seconds. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I bought this to upgrade an old 2009 Dell desktop (had to get an adapter tray though). Put Windows 10 on it and I still play Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online. Not too demanding but it has helped to drop load times, ESPECIALLY windows startup finally takes less than a minute. In about, truthfully, 30 seconds from turning the computer on to being logged in, I can start working or playing a game without lag time due to something else being turned on still. Legit buy. Best Buy did have the best deal for it, too, when I compared Newegg and Micro center. Looking forward to putting Battlefield 1 on this.

Samsung 3D 850 SSD's are some of the fastest SSD's on the market and the 3D part makes it one of the most reliable. Will just about max out a SATA 6G connector

In my opinion Samsung make the best SSD. They a reliable and super fast. All five of my computers now have the Samsung SSD. You can't go wrong with Samsung!

After I installed this drive to my aging 3 year old PC, the PC now is running much faster. With Samsung SSD reliability, I am sure i am not disappointed.

Solids state drives are the way to go. They are pretty reliable and fast. Both my laptop and desktop boot to Windows in under 10 seconds.

For the novice, very easy plug and play. Have not had any glitches on it(I installed two of these on separate laptops and no issues on either).

Samsung's 850 EVO series are worth the extra money due to the power savings, weight reduction, reliability (no spinning parts), and most of all, S-P-E-E-D.

Replaced a friend's hard drive in a 7 year old HP laptop. What's nice about the size of this drive is that it's 250 gigs - not 240 or some other smaller number. Makes it easier to clone the old one over. The old laptop was still running Vista, and a clone of Vista over to this drive works great. One heck of an improvement in speed.

This is a very solid SSD. It is fast and has been very reliable. It loads windows a lot faster and the apps are not butter on my HP laptop.

This SSD is very fast and reliable. Installation was quick and painless. The entire process only took about an hour. You need a USB to SATA 3 dongle tho.

I don't have M.2 on my motherboard. Decided to experiment with these in an attempt to increase speed. It works well. I setup four of these in RAID0 then cloned the array on a large HDD for backup. The array only contains the OS and programs. These replaced a Samsung 850 Pro 500 GB which is now used for my data files. You cannot use Samsung Magician with the SSDs in RAID. Having the ability to keep my files and easily redo the array if needed, was a must. So far it has been running without any need for maintenance which exceeds my expectations.

Purchased this SSD to upgrade an older laptop. Now with the laptop running so much smoother and faster, I have no desire for a new laptop. This comes with migration software, however I did not use it. Taking a little extra time to do a clean Windows install and installing desired software means none of the useless junk is transferred to the new drive. Then just use a SATA to USB cable to transfer documents, pictures, etc. Highly recommended​ to put new life in an older laptop and the Samsung EVO gives you the best value for speed and reliability.

Added this to my mid2009 Macbook Pro. Installation was a breeze with the help of some cnet directions. Works great! Made the computer feel brand new.
