Easy install with provided software. Other manufacturers don't provide software. Cloning only copies vital files which uses less storage.

I bought this 4/14/1016 after what was probably the best customer experience I've ever had at the Longmont, CO store with Magnolia Home Theater Lead Ryan G. I've had my Lenovo T61p for years, and love the machine for its discreet ACad certified graphics card, and legendary IBM Certified, Lenovo build quality. At 8 years old, the machine could be replaced, but at 2-4K for a workstation class CAD machine, I couldn't justify the expense. I've read numerous SSD reviews over the last month, and resoundingly, the EVO 850 tops the ratings. Install was easy, utilizing an external usb sata adapter to clone the existing antique spinning platter with Samsung's included cloning software. Once cloned, physical replacement was like a NASCAR pitstop. Zip, zip, done. The new drive is significantly faster loading AutoCad, opening files... everything. A hundred bucks, for those of you who have a great, yet dated machine, like the T61p, will find this a worthwhile purchase. Just like my house full of Samsung TVs, I'm thoroughly happy.

Installed and cloned my previous drive to it. It performed well but I noticed that I was running in IDE instead of AHCI mode, limiting it's capabilities. Making the preparations and taking the precautions to ensure a rapid and safe clean install I switched to AHCI mode. The drive benchmarks at just below the SATA 600 theoretical limit. An added bonus is the 5 year warranty.

Installed many of these drives, never an issue. Very fast and reliable.

My MacBook was starting to lag severely. My brother suggested replacing the disk hard drive with a solid state drive, and I chose this brand for reliability. My trusty old MacBook is now running nice and smooth :) It used to take a good minute or two for it to boot up, but now it turns on within 10 seconds of hitting that power button.

I bought this to replace the 240 GB SanDisk SSD I purchased a year ago for my fastest laptop because I'm going to swap out a few dying drives in other systems. It picked it because the 850 EVO series was rated slightly faster than the others, and I'm a bit surprised to say it really is noticeable. I didn't expect much more than an incremental improvement.

This is my third Samsung SSD and I can tell you there is no match for the high quality of this drive. With the popularity of solid state drives over the years the prices have become very reasonable allowing you to enjoy the lightning fast speed an SSD will offer. Don't delay...go buy it now!!
