The drive is one of the fastest SSD. The size is somewhat small.

this thing is outstanding, replaced an old hdd in a 4 year old i3 system with 4gb of ram the difference is outstanding it doesn't at all feel like an old computer anymore best upgrade for the money. ignore the laptop part in the description this can go in any desktop and as of right now January 2017 this is the most highly recommended drive out there.

Bought for my mid 2011 macbook pro as it had began to decline in performance. My average boot time before upgrade was around 1 minute 30 seconds. After installation of the samsung ssd my average boot time is less than 10 seconds. All my applications boot extreamly fast and i would highly recommend this hard drive to anyone needing an upgrade.

Super fast and quiet replacement for my old HDD in my macbook.

SSD are supposed to boost the performance of your laptops and they never break or crash but some companies are better than others. I have bought this SSD twice before and this one was my third one. It's easy to work with, comes with whatever required, easily fits in insignia cover and it's not expensive (there are deals on this one sometimes).

I have used this model and preceding models to update everything from MacBook Pros, home-built computers, linux computers, to laptops and each computer has had a nice boost in speed afterwards. The solid state drive is easy to install and, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, there are plenty of services out there to assist.

I purchased this to increase the durability and speed of my laptop bu replacing the existing hdd installed. With the Samsung magition and drive migration the transfer was a breeze and booted up first try. On button to windows login prompt reduced from 46 seconds to 6 seconds with the Samsung 850 installed. Highly recommend this Samsung SSD.

I've owned this SSD for approximately 4 years, and to this date it has yet to disappoint. Used it in a Lenovo Y50-70. From now on I'm sticking with Samsung for SSDs. You get performance coupled with a durable drive. And when it comes to storage - especially important files - longevity comes first.

The EVO series is a step below the PRO series but considering the difference in price, it just made sense to get the EVO. Works amazing, starts up system in seconds and opens applications and files with incredible speed. Out of the SSD Drives, Samsung is confirmed to have the best chipsets. Very good purchase, very pleased with this SSD.

My sister has her Macbook since 2012 so it's at least six years old. To improve its performance, I replaced the old HDD with this new SDD, and we can definitely say that it is faster. Before it would take her Macbook several minutes to boot up, now it takes less than a minute, about 30 seconds or so. Huge improvement!
