I bought this to upgrade my 13" Macbook Pro Early 2011. The boost in performance was indeed great. Pair this with an upgrade on your RAM and you will be opening programs almost instantly. Definitely worth upgrading to Solid State Drives, and then using external HDDs if you need the extra space for a cheaper price.

I just bought this SSD yesterday, the Samsung Migration software comes with it in the form of a disk but can also be downloaded from the site. The software works perfectly though, afterwards you just switch hard drives but it can be a pain to Format the original drive being that it is a clone. After plugging it in though the performance is nice and works great playing Mass Effect Andromeda and The Division. super fast!

I've been using Samsung SSDs for a while (started with the 840 Pro 128 GB) and it performs as expected, a very easy installation and very competitive for the price. The Samsung Magician software makes it easy to manage the drive. I bought this one to use with a duplicate drive I had to form a striped volume, which gives very fast read/write speeds.

I have an 840 evo, can't say this feels faster but a great drive either way. everyone should have an ssd. It's a no-brainer.

Bought two of these to replace the mechanical drives in two of my Asus laptops. Boot times are considerable shorter now (~10 seconds compared to ~65 seconds) and multitasking has become a breeze with the addition of these new drives! Would recommend this drive to anyone looking to upgrade old or new systems! One thing to note, just make sure your laptop/desktop has room for it (2.5" drive)!

Have a 5+ year old Dell Studio XPS with a HDD giving an AHCI Port0 device error each time I restarted the computer. I considered replacing the old HDD with a new HDD, but opted to get the Samsung EVO 850 250Gb SSD for the OS and programs (and with 1TB HDD for file storage). i used ThermalTake BlacX Duet drive dock to clone old HDD to new SSD. The cloning process took about 40 minutes after which I installed the SSD in the Dell Studio XPS and crossed my fingers. Much to my pleasure, the system started with no AHCI errors and about 5 times faster than old HDD. I would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone looking to speeding up an older machine. For under $100, I believe my old Dell with be with me for another 5 years.

Speed upgrade from the old HDD, As recommended I put my copy of Windows 10 x64 and it takes about 13 seconds from post to fully loaded desktop. Also great for most used programs and games.

Completely satisfied with the SSD Harddrive purchase. Comes with samsung magician software, easily clones exisiting hard drive. planning to buy one more SSD.

I had researched many different SSDs before buying this one. Kingston, Sandisk, and Cruicer are so tempting because they offer close to the same at a much cheaper price. In reality, if you are going from a HDD to an SSD, any of those brands will be a HUGE improvement. But Samsung really did a great job with this product. In my mind, the extra premium you pay is more than worth the money. They simply have the best product.

I've got a Intel 540s 250GB SSD that I purchased when I built my Gaming PC. I had no issues with it to date and the only reason for buying another SSD was because the Intel filled up and I got tired of deleting one game to add another.. I bought the EVO 850 250GB based mainly on the glowing reviews of the speed. It's more expensive than most brands but for reliability and speed I'll pay the premium. Well I personally can't speak on the reliability yet but the speed is a little disappointing. The Intel SSD 540s beats it using 3 different bench-marking programs, including Samsungs own Magician software. It's still fast, comes with nice software to mirror SSD's, the Magician software is nice, but it's still on the more expensive side for not being as speedy as it claims.

This SSD is an outstanding product! It is fast and was easy to install.

Replaced the mechanical hard drive that came with my laptop with this 250gb Samsung SSD and the performance improvement is staggering. The swap was super easy and I didn't bother with disk cloning and instead did a clean install of Windows 10 off of a USB drive. I would highly recommend anyone with a mechanical hard drive to upgrade to this SSD.

Big improvements in boot time, W7 is running much faster. Although the older ASUS G73 Laptop can't take advantage of the 6Gb transfer rates, I'm happy with the affordable upgrade. My dual drive bay made it simple and a fast migration using included software.

Simply the best! Bought 2 ssd's this weekend. 1. Sandisk 120gb intended for boot drive. SLOW!!! 38 secs. 2. Samsung 250gb EVO 850. 10-12 secs. No Comparasion! Simply the best. 10 sec boots, lightning fast application launches. Buy one of these, (you do not need the Pro version) you will be glad you did!

My non SSD harddrive tanked on me after 6 months and needed a new one immediately. Opted to go this route and so far have been happy. Only had it a few weeks but i can tell its faster loading then my non SSD harddrive. And incredibly light too, the books talking about the SSD weigh more than the actual SSD.

I'm a fan of SSDs. They improve boot time and performance and are more reliable than hard drives. They also reduce power drain on your laptop's battery. They are relatively easy to install but you do have to be careful as getting the back of the laptop removed can be tricky. Those little screws can be different depending on their location and easily stripped with an improper or poor quality screwdriver. Have the right tools. Be sure you ground yourself so as to not build a charge (static electricity) that will discharge through your laptops circuitry. This is not a job for the heavy handed but requires a delicate touch. There a number of YouTube videos to watch as preparation before you begin. The swap out moves along rather quickly if you prepare properly. Note: The software that comes with the Samsung EVO will only transfer data from your primary HD to the Samsung EVO. It will not xfer the contents of your SSD back to a HD. Its a one way trip.

Easy upgrade (if you have a SATA to USB cable). Install the software, image the drive, and swap.

I am using it for my SONY VAIO 'SVS13125CN' laptop. This previously has 750gb HDD, I replaced it with this SSD.. and the results are at simply fantastic ! My laptop's performance has simply gone up.. I strongly recommend this product for laptops.

This SSD is unbelievably fast!! Get the EVO and save some $ compared to the PRO From what I have read not that much of a noticeable difference. PRO has 10 year warranty EVO 5 But come on who knows what is down the pike in 5 years
