best buck and a half I've even spent on hardware. Run and get one of these beauties, I can't believe the difference in boot speed and over around operation. MY processor was fast (an I 7) so I expected a minor bump in performance but this new configuration is blazing. I'm upgrading all our desktop with SDDs and this Samsung is one of the best ! What are you waiting for??? GO get one!

What a difference this makes! I installed this into a 2011 MacBook Pro. I still use that computer mainly because of the speed that this hard drive performs.

After installing this SSD into the 2012 MacBook Pro the system did not want to write OSX to this drive using backup from the time capsule. I used this method on several machines and several times, but not sure what did not work this time. After I installed the OSX system from the internet it allowed to pull the same backup. Now works fine. At the end I decided to buy TRIM enabler to finish the joy. Now it works faster, much faster!

Just purchased this SSD for my early 2011 MacBook Pro and it feels like i have a brand new computer! Turning on/off my Mac and opening programs are a breeze with this SSD. A big reason why I bought this SSD over others was because of the 5 year warranty for parts and labor. Looking at other hard drives, many of them have a 1 to 3 year warranty, which made this Samsung - 850 Evo that much more appealing. If you're looking to upgrade from a HHD to an SSD, I highly recommend this product!

This is a great hard-drive and it is what I was told it would be . . . lightening fast! The difference is night and day! Everyone who reads this I tell you . . . it is worth the money and more. I am still amazed at the instantaneous way it does whatever I ask of it! Thank you Samsung and Best Buy.

I purchased this as an upgrade for a 5400rpm 1TB HDD in the laptop I just bought as that HDD made the computer too slow. The difference between that and this SSD is ridiculous (in a good way). I never imagined how much of a difference an SSD could make in terms of speed & performance, but now I never want to go back to a HDD. I was honestly ready to return the computer but it now flies along at blazing fast speeds, and that's with an i5 processor. I don't miss the extra storage, especially because I now get to turn the old HDD into a new external hard drive. I HIGHLY recommend this SSD as an upgrade to any computer using a HDD.

I purchased the Samsung EVO 850 SSD to add to my HP Envy m7 laptop. It has two drive bays. The current drive was a 1 TB hard drive. I wanted to use this SSD as my main drive that holds all my programs and the operating system. And then use my 1 TB HDD as storage of all my docs and files. I had to purchase the USB to Sata HDD/SDD adapter and some rubber bumpers so the drive would stay securely in place. Here is the steps I took once I had everything: 1. Downloaded the Samsung Migration and Samsung Magician software. It came with the SSD on a disk but my DVD drive wasn't working so I just downloaded them from the Samsung site. 2. Connected the Samsung EVO SSD using the USB adapter. 3. Using the Data Migration software I cloned my current computer hard drive to the new SSD. There was one hiccup when doing so but I just walked through the troubleshooting steps on the screen, did a restart and the Migration software did the rest. 4. After the HDD was cloned to the SSD I turned off the computer and opened up the back to install the SSD. I took out the old HDD and put the SSD in the main bay where the HDD was located. 5. I closed up the computer and started it back up to make sure the SSD was working and sure enough it stared up instantly!! 6. I shutdown the computer and opened it back up to install my HDD in the second bay. 7. When I started my computer back up it was still booting from the SSD drive but wasn't recognizing the HDD. I had to go to Disk Management by right clicking on the Windows icon in the lower right corner and choosing Disk Management. From there I needed to right click on the HDD drive and select Online. It automatically assigned the drive a letter and I was able to access the old drive. 8. Then I changed anything that I wanted to go to my old drive by going to Properties, Location on each of the items (Music, Videos, Pictures) and pointing it to drive G. So all in all it was a super simple process. My only regret is I didn't do it a long time ago. ;)

SSD vs HDD, there's simply no comparison. Replaced my 1TB Western Digital HDD with the 500GB SSD as my C drive and Windows 10 boots up in ~10 seconds. I wasn't a believer before about how absurdly fast a SSD could be, but I am now. You can't go wrong with Samsung's 850 evo series. The reviews all over the internet are praising this series. I was trying to find a lot of overly negative reviews, but I couldn't find any reviews like that. I might need to replace my 6 year old laptop with this ssd in the near future. Look no further people, buy this SSD to fully take advantage of your system. Good job Samsung.

Installed in mac mini, works flawless and FAST!!! Very easy installation didn't use any software just Mac OS X disk utility, Be aware that disk is not formatted..

I've used Samsung SSDs in the past and knew they are of high quality. The EVO line of drives are very fast and priced reasonably. I purchased this an upgrade from a hard drive and couldn't be happier. It is amazingly fast and installation was simple.

Samsung - 850 EVO 500GB Internal Serial ATA Solid State Drive is a great way to give that older laptop more speed and now that the 500GB has come down so far in price that needed extra space. Great for SATA interface laptops and desktops (you might need an adapter kit to mount it in a larger bay). You will not be able to tell the difference between this and the PRO but your wallet sure will. I have tried a lot of SSD’s some have let me down but not Samsung. The added software for firmware updates is great it will help you with tuning the OS as well (SSD and HDD are different in how they are set up) The only thing that is missing is that RAPID mode is not functional with Windows 10 as the Magician software does not recognize the OS for this feature. The Samsung data migration software has limitations but it will work for the majority of customers and there are free alternatives that aren’t as quirky or have problems identifying all of your drives correctly.

This is my first ever SSD in my self built desktop. After experiencing the improvement in speed for the boot time, I would have to say that this is by far one of the best and most convenient upgrades ever. The computer boots literally in under 10 seconds and everything else loads so quickly after that. I bought the 500GB version and will probably buy another the moment I get the chance. Great buy and got it on sale! Warranty says 5 years, so that's another pro!

Everything just moves so much faster with this drive. Super easy to migrate (Windows 10) and install into my Dell XPS 15Z laptop. You just need to make sure you download the latest migration software updates from Samsung (it will ask you if you want to install when you run the program). This is one of the most effective and hassle-free upgrades I've done in a while.

I have Windows 10 with BitLocker, and was worried how the swap would work out. Simply couldn't have been easier. I decrypted my drive, used the included Samsung migration software to clone it, swapped the drive, then re-encrypted. Windows boots in less than 10 seconds, and everything is right where I left it. But soooo much faster. Highly recommended!

Great driver if you want to upgrade your laptop from a spinning hard drive to solid state. The performance boost on my 2010 MacBook Pro 13" could not have been more extreme. This drive bumped my computer from barely functioning and taking forever to open anything to faster than it was when it was brand new. The Upgrade was super easy. Ive done it before so I already was familiar, but its something anyone could knock out in under an hour (no including the time it takes to transfer all your data over). Would highly recommend to anyone looking to speed up their computer and give new life.
