This was my first SSD drive. I had always used regular platter type Hard drives. I had read reviews of how fast they were and the reviews are all correct. I just built a new computer and installed Windows 10 Pro on it. I had it installed and up and running in less than 30 minutes. Awesome!

I replaced a late 2009 iMac 5400rpm hard drive with this SSD in 2018 and it is amazing how much faster the machine runs. Also upgraded RAM from 8GB to 16GB, and updated OS to High Sierra. Now my iMac can handle Logic Pro X because the Samsung 860 SSD is so much faster. No error messages that the drive is too slow. Also, as an external drive connected to USB 2.0 (the iMac is pre USB 3.0) this Samsung SSD is extremely fast. I'm running a second Samsung 860 EVO externally with all of my OS 10.6.8 programs like Logic Express and Traktor Pro. Even running as an external drive with an older OS X version, the iMac boots up so much faster than it did with the 5400rpm hard drive. And again, no more error messages that the hard drive is too slow to keep up with Logic. I highly recommend this SSD.

Nothing like adding more storage space to you laptop or pc. This sad gets the job done. It is great quality and a lot is extra space for those that need it. It is fast and quiet as well. I have also purchased the m2 version.

This is the best SSD I ever built in laptop even it also can support into desktop I have tried to test before. It's increasing more faster than I had HDD before. Best SSD & you won't worry about anything if you consider to buy SSD. This is highly recommended.

My HDD from my mac die after 4 years of use and I replace it with this SSD, the speed was higher, less heat and so far has been working flawlessly. I'm thinking to acquire an extra SSD for my other laptop once they have a sales on this product.

This is a review of the Samsung 860 EVO 500GB V-NAND SATA SSD I bought to replace a regular hard drive. The SSD has made my Windows 10 notebook computer much faster and more reliable after replacing the mechanical hard drive.

Using this as a stopgap drive for Windows 10 until I buy another NVMe. It's quick and does the trick. My system boots reliably and I haven't had any noteworthy issues with the drive. You can't do better for the price, if you ask me.

This is my fourth Samsung EVO SSD. I have installed them in four desktop PC's to upgrade them. The SSD's are fast to boot, fast to use and fast to run utilities on. They seem reliable as I have had 1 for 3 years now. The price has come 75% or so since that first drive. LOve them.

This SSD replaced a smaller SSD in my 5-year-old desktop computer. I used Samsung Magician software to clone my old SSD and it worked flawlessly! I was up and running with the new SSD in about 45-minutes. My computer now performs like brand new! I Highly recommend Samsung SSD's.

Perfect purchase for what I needed! I bought this to replace a failing HDD in my 2011 iMac, and now my computer works like I just got it. The speed is ridiculously fast, and it's a great value for the price. Would highly recommend!

This drive is a great value for what you pay for it, and it's insanely fast on the read/write speeds. I installed Windows 10 Pro on this thing in less than 30 seconds. Boot up speeds are nearly instantaneous compared to what I was used to on HDDs. I highly recommend this product.

This is a great drive. I always use Samsung for critical applications. They are reliable and rock solid. They are also very fast. If you really want these to fly, download and install Samsung Magician along with the drive. Buy the Samsung. You can't go wrong.

I installed this SSD into my old dell desktop and the results were spectacular. Even though the desktop is SATA 2( 3 is recommended), I still boot windows in about 6 ticks. If you have to change or upgrade one single device on your pc, I would go with an SSD; especially this one.

Great SSD. Quick and fast. Boot up time for my computer has been greatly reduced. Once you go SSD, you'll never go back to traditional HDD for your system volume. Plus, it's from Samsung. The brand you can trust. Do I need to say more? Just get it.

Thanks to the Samsung Data Migration software, a usb to SATA cable, and about an hour, the preinstalled (Old style mechanical, slow, hot, loud hard drive) was cloned over to the new SSD drive. Opened up my laptop, took the mount off the HD, stuck the SSD in there, plugged it in, screwed it in place, and had Windows10 back on in about 12 seconds! The boot speed is insane! One benchmark test showed my old HDD at 30. That was it's score. Now it's 380. It read/write tested about 170, and now it's up over 67000. Yes, Sixty-Seven THOUSAND from One Hundred Seventy. Woke up a laptop that's only 18 months old, and the HDD was a choking point. The i7 7700 and 16gb of RAM are alive and well now!!!! Will buy another, and another, and maybe one more just to do it!

This is my fourth Samsung EVO SSD internal drive. I've upgraded all the computers in our household to SSDs now and it's well worth the money. I chose this particular drive because, at least in the past, the installation and cloning process was relatively easy and straightforward, albeit very time consuming. I ended up ditching the Samsung software and using third-party software for the cloning process as the Samsung software kept failing. I would highly recommend moving to a SSD, especially if your computer is running slowly. Just be aware that the Samsung Magician software isn't as magical as it's name would imply.

Installed this bad boy into my desktop, quick reboot of the OS & I was off & running. Huge improvement in performance on my PC! So much so I went & bought another one for my other work station. Can't beat the price.

I picked up this SSD as an upgrade for my laptop that came with good specs accept for the disk drive, which caused it to underperform. The SSD was an easy set up and I would recommend it for anyone looking to get overall better speed and results from their laptop.

I would buy a Samsung product everyday. I have installed Samsung SSD drives in many computers. The performance shows up many other popular replacement SSD for both laptops and desktops. Be sure you buy the 3-1/2” adapter if you are planning a desktop install.

The Samsung 860 EVO has been on the market for quite some time, unchanged even as advances in NAND flash technology drive down the manufacturing cost of SSDs greatly. You'd think a 4-5 year old drive would be significantly outclassed by this point, but in the 2.5" SATA space the 860 EVO still consistently finishes near the top of performance comparison tests. I picked this SSD up for a client build over other options purely because of its reliability and reputation - this is the fourth 860 EVO I've purchased and all of them are running strong and fast, no failures or issues with any of them. They have a great terabytes written (TBW) endurance rating and should all last much longer than competing options. You could chance it with a lower quality drive to save a little cash, but it's hard to recommend anything else over this if you need the 2.5" SATA form factor and interface.
