It takes a lot for me to write a review as a tech head but this thing BLEW me away. My 2012 HP DV6 (i7, 8gb Ram) was taking forever to load but once it got going after 7 minutes it was like it always was but was frustrating. It's now a desktop that feeds to two monitors. Was considering a whole new one then a friend told me to get this so I did and it was one of my best TECH investments ever. This thing is faster than it ever was and from pushing power to me logging in to loading ESPN on chrome is only 38 seconds, literally!! Just get it, you wont regret it!!

I had this for a while. Samsung had always been a reliable brand. It's fast and it just works.

I recently put this SSD into my wife's Dell laptop after her previous hard drive was taking nearly 10 minutes to load into Windows 10. Awhile back I put in a 8 GB memory stick thinking that was the main problem, but it didn't make much of a difference. After replacing the hard drive in her Dell laptop with this Samsung SSD, the laptop went from barely loading to fully loading into windows within 30 seconds. It's like she has a brand new laptop, but without the price...

I've always had to wait a long time for certain applications to boot and loading screens to complete when I was using my HDDs. But, now with a new SSD in place, boot and load times have been cut down in every situation! Highly recommend making the upgrade, even if the memory space decreases in your build... It is definitely worth it!

SSDs are fast drive when used to transfer files between other SSDs. I tried to use it as an external SSD and it was the same speed as an HDD due to internal HDDs. If you intend to utilize this externally it will only be as fast as the internal drive your getting data from.

Works as described. Much better than a traditional spinner. Would recommend this product.

Samsung Data Migration software for cloning did not work at all. I tried several different things to fix possible problems and it just wouldn't work. It would finally error out and give me an error code. Unfortunately Samsung offers no solutions based on specific error codes, so I don't get why they bother with error codes in the first place. I finally gave up and used EaseUS which was free and worked the first time. Recently I upgraded a different older laptop with a PNY SSD which came with an Acronis software purchase code. Acronis worked the first time as well, but would only work with a PNY SSD so I was on my own with this Samsung SSD. Another problem with this SSD is that it does not come with a mounting spacer. So if you need a spacer, you have to go buy another product. Here again, PNY was a better experience as the PNY SSD came with it's own spacer. Samsung SSD is supposedly the best-in-class for this form factor. It's inexcusable for Samsung to have inferior software. And it was insulting to open the box only to find I have to go back to Best Buy because Samsung is too cheap to provide their customers with a 2 cent piece of plastic spacer. The performance of the Samsung SSD is fine, but the hours I spent on Samsung's useless Data Migration software and potential extra trip to Best Buy for a plastic spacer make this SSD an overall dud.

Using it as a replacement for hdd in my laptop. Superfast for home use laptops.

Samsung SSDs are the best consumer drives on the market. The 5-year 300TB written warranty, is considerably better than their competitors.

Bought one for my pc and PS4 pro and the 2 systems are now blaaaazing fast

Was bought to replace the broken HDD in my PS4 Decent upgrade but heavy on the pockets. Well at least cheaper than the previous gen 250GB I bought in 2015

Purchased the hard drive for top dollar in an effort to place the files off from my last three outdated Windows laptops. The hard drive allowed the files to transfer in. However, the next day, the hard drive was not observable. I tried using the hard drive on other laptop computers with the same result. The hard drive takes a photo of your files and makes you think that the backed up data id there when in fact, the data does not back up. Total waste of time and money. This should not be allowed for a sale.

I am looking forward to getting the benfits of this device. It arrived without a cable to clone my HD. When I called BB to ask about this, they said they could sell me a cable for $10. I declined and went online to order one. Now I am waiting. How can a product like Samsung not come with the tools you need to install? I will update my review once I get the 860 EVO installed. Not a happy camper.
