Not cheap, but does what an SSD should do. Ultimately Samsung storage media is pretty reliable and usually one of the fastest in its class. I use it as a boot drive in one pc and to video edit off of on another pc. No complaints, would buy again. Samsung also has great cloning software on their website if you are using it as a boot drive and want to use your preexisting image. This is the third drive I have from them...

I have had this drive installed for nearly a month after my original drive started developing bad sectors causing the machine to run horribly. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of transferring my original OS, applications, data, and settings to the new drive using the software provided by Samsung for free (downloaded from their site). I would highly recommend this drive, but would likely see better speed with a fresh OS load rather than transferring the existing one.

I put this in now faster with a lot more storage. It brought my 8 year old laptop back to life.

I was in the market for a 500GB SSD. A friend was giving me a hard time as we walked into Best Buy saying that I could probably buy one in the store. I jokingly said If I could get one cheaper than they are online I'll buy 2!! Unfortunately the store only one one in stock and it was cheaper than online for the same make/model drive. It's fast, it's easy to install and I have nothing bad to say about it. I just plugged it into my lab server, provisioned the drive and viola!

I have the late 2014 MacMini with the 2.6 I5 processor. It was unusable. It was so slow that the spinning beach ball was the norm and getting it to do a task was the exception. Finally after much frustration, the hard drive died. I researched how to replace it and what was the suggested SSD to use. Samsung was the choice of many. Unfortunately as usual, my two Best Buy locations didn't stock the 500GB and I had to drive over the Cajon Pass to the lower desert to get one. I could have ordered it and waited a week for delivery, but I wanted it now! So I watched a few videos and fair warning, if you do this upgrade you are most likely going to break the infrared connection. It's a plug, but the male end is so tiny and brittle...like a few strings, that it's going to be damaged without trying. No biggie unless you use the remote or plan to. For me, now the light doesn't work..that's it. The mini on the other hand works awesome. The operating system boots in seconds and I rarely get a beach ball even when I have itunes running and streaming songs from my Windows machine as well and multi-tasking something else. So if you're like me and you have a mini that's driving you nuts, watch a few videos, go buy one of these drives and swap it out. It will make this dog....run again.

Bought to replace factory hard drive in my computer. Easy replacement and very fast and quiet.

I wanted the Sandisk 3D SSD drive but store only had this Samsung in stock. Samsung is always a good, reliable brand though. Their magician software is available at their website. Drive runs fast and have never had any problems out of Samsung drives. But I don't remember ever having any problems with any SSD drive for that matter. Benchmarks for Samsung are always good. Just bought here because that's all that was available and needed for customer same day.

I've been replacing all my boot disks with these. Samsung may be a little more expensive than some of the other brands, but their reliability is better (and my data and time is worth it). Boot (an shutdown) times are improved by an order of magnitude - well worth the investment. Samsung supplies the software to migrate the old disk. And it works without any problems or hassle. Highly recommended.

Samsung SSD are my favs. I use a 860 EVO and 870 EVO without any issues. Both are fast and the monitoring software is very valuable! You can't get any better quality and reputation than Sammy! The performance, reliability and software puts it on the top tier for SSD's.

I bought a NUC mini-PC that came with a spinning hard drive and wanted to replace it with an SSD. I found this one on sale at Best Buy and purchased it. Installation was easy and I used Windows Media Creator to install Win 10 on it. It has worked fine for the four weeks or so I have had it. Samsung is a reputable brand and I have had good luck with their products for many years.

Make your older laptop sing with a new hard drive. Most older machines have a spinning platter style! They are slow to seal info, and take massive power! As well create major heat! This drive cooled my MacBook Pro, boot time went from minute to 16 seconds. Seal time is unreal. Heat has been reduced. Buy one today. You won’t regret it

I purchased this SSD to install in my PlayStation 4 Pro. This is by far the best accessory I’ve ever purchased for my console. After installing this SSD, my PlayStation loads SO FAST! Loading screens were cut in half or more. In game menus load instantly. Installing this product was simple and so was installing the PlayStation operating system. Highly recommend installing this card if you’re a big time gamer!!

These SSDs are very dependable. The prices of SDDs have dropped so much. I remember paying over $200 for an Intel 120GB SSD in 2011. I bought this to upgrade a cheap desktop. One of the nice things about Samsung’s SSDs is that you can clone the drive using Samsung’s data migration software. It’s free and it’s a lot faster than other free softwares I have use. I would definitely recommend this drive.

This SSD has change my laptop life and my wife bought two of this and made my pc really faster and the respond is amazing i was so surprising to see my laptop boot up faster it a blast and worth the money and is still working as new. been a year now. i might buy the modern one with more GB for gaming for storage. This thing can fit anywhere that how thin is. definitely worth the buy.
