The tech team contacted me the following day. They informed me that I needed to have a new hard drive installed. It was ready 2 days later.

Cant recommend it enough

This was their recommended replacement. I am very pleased with the service provided by Geek Squad and the new hard drive.

The 1 TB worked from the start. Try the 500 on a second computer nothing. Exchanged the bad on for another same story. Decided to give it on more try. The 3rd one worked the way I expected the first two should have.

The first has been in service for 2 to 3 years, and had been locked up by an "online service professional Geek impostor" who tried to rob me of $2500 by fraud actions. The Geek Squad was able to restore my computer. The second computer is several years older and is currently being used for Family Tree purposes. It needed a replacement hard drive. It is now working very well.
