Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You can search the Web about EVO 870 defective drives and Samsung kept it quiet for obvious reasons. I must be the unlucky one, because I happened to buy a refurbished 500GB EVO 870 from the defective batch knowingly or not acquired and sold by BB. When I tried to RMA my refurbished drive, Samsung informed me that refurbished drives are not warrantied, so my files are not recoverable, I can't even backup or clone my 870 EVO, tools are failing with errors. Trash EVO 870 and start installing everything from scratch is the only option. Sounds to like a big scam from the Best Buy, who quickly acquired new defective batches for EVO 870 and started selling them for half price as refurbished, where any claims to Best Buy or Samsung would lead to nowhere.
