Speed was a great jump over the mechanical drive and also direct replacement for a laptop drive.

Great SSDs and management utility

I've been using them for several years and have had great results. One of the nicer features (much to my surprise) is the software utility, Samsung Magician. I typically do not use the management apps that are included with most PC devices because they are nearly always of little value or add unnecessary resource drain. Magician, on the other hand, provides some fantastic features. The most impressive of these features to me is the Rapid Mode. It's sort of like a RAM disk but works differently and wow does it speed up drive operations, for a single Samsung SSD drive only though.

Fantastic budget SSD

Decent value good everything else

Samsung's generally considered as more reliable so it might be worth the five bucks extra or what not. If I can't find a MX500 I get this one.

Solid drive for a laptop or a desktop
