Phenomenal DRAM-less SSD!

The previous EVO Nvme series were great drives, but were always a bit more per GB than the competition. This is hands down the best value NVME ssd samsung has launched imo. DRAMless SSD usually means middling performance, but this is near the top of PCIE 3.0 drives!
My Crystal disk mark 8.0.1 test is attached!

Thanks for purchasing the Samsung 980 SSD. I'm glad to see you are happy with the experience.
The 980 delivers value, without sacrificing sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500/3,000 MB/s, over 6.2x the speed of SATA SSDs. Whether you need a boost for gaming or a seamless workflow for heavy graphics, the 980 is a smart choice for outstanding SSD performance — and it's all backed by an NVMe interface and PCIe 3.0 technology.

Runs really fast and is easy to install, also a really good price for the speed and storage that you never see in any other M.2

Easy to use and install. I would say the price point is a bit too high and I recently saw it go on sale for $40 less than I paid for it. That is more like the pricing at $45-50 rather than $95. The rate that storage is going we should be seeing more competitive rates from Samsung. Speed seems in line but the 970 pro is a bit faster but not super noticeable unless you do bench marking. Normal user wouldn't have seen it.

Easy installation and set up. If your PC has a spot on your motherboard for the M.2 drive, just plug it in. Also go to Samsung's website for the cloning software. Free and easy to use. Increased speed from an SATA SSD drive to this M.2 drive. Good value and working well

Samsung always comes through for me on SSDs and M.2s. This is cheaper than the 970 version and faster. Easy installation and the magician software helps you fine tune it. No problems as usual with their drives. Fit in a laptop with no issues.

Works as desired, boot times far exceed SATA SSDs. It is a very pleasurable user experience.
In my case it hits 48C without direct air flow or a heatsink and still in the safe range. My MB’s M.2 slot just happens to line up with my GPUs blower fan so the SSD is not getting heat from it. I put a 120mm case fan in the area and the temperature never goes above 35C.
The Samsung software is useful. One thing though, the Samsung setup instructions state the Hard Drive Controller should be set to AHCI. If it is on RAID, Windows will operate just fine but the Samsung software will not be able to read the status of the drive. Switching the setting after the fact is not advised but Windows startup repair can get your system back up and running. That is a Windows/Intel issue and not a mark against Samsung.

Works exactly like it should. I'm glad Samsung came out with a fast NVME drive with good storage, speed, and a low price! This is a no brainer drive today in my opinion. Get this over any SATA SSD.

I have been buying Samsung M.2's for some time and I have always been impressed by them. They are blazing fast, easy to install, and have never failed on me yet. And they're much more reasonable in price now that it doesn't make sense to go with anything else. This SSD is no different. It just works, it's fast, and it's reliable. A must buy, in my opinion.

I purchased this SSD for my ASUS TUF laptop, as the 512GB SSD it came with wasn't going to be enough storage for me in the long run. While I haven't ran any benchmark tests (check other reviews for that info), it runs fast as expected.
Installation was quite easy, and I say that as someone with little experience with laptop upgrades. Great investment for a laptop you plan on keeping for at least a few years.

So far I haven't had any issues with this SSD. It's very fast, primarily used for storage. So opening up files from the drive is snappy. Longevity and "endurance" will be difficult to test since I don't plan on writing/rewriting to the drive often. But I would bet that it holds up mightily in that department.
Install was somewhat easy. My laptop's underside panel aside, the OS recognized it. But it did need to be configured once before usable. Mainly a reformat and designating a drive name. But after that, no recognition issues at all.

Bought for dock for my 2021 Mac Mini. Fast, very fast. Plugged into dock and it worked right away. I had bought one above this one; with read at 7k and write at 6.5K. It had a heat sink and would not fit the expansion space. Saved me $79 usd.
I am not doing heavy graphics or big photo exiting. Testing it, the write for a 3GB file is just over a second. More than what I am using it for.
Note: if you are using on a Mac, then the Samsung software does not work. So only drawback so far.

I was able to install this Gen 3 M.2 SSD into my main M.2 SSD slot on my PC to upgrade my storage from a Hard Disk Drive to store all my games. Upon installation, I had no issues setting up the SSD on Windows and would recommend installing Samsung Magician to update the firmware & see the health status of the drive.

It’s easy to install and it’s fast compared to what I had. It also comes with the Samsung Magician and Data Migration softwares, which makes it easy to transfer data, including the operation system, from old drive to this one. I would recommend this NVMe SSD to any one. The price is also great!

From my experience, Samsung is the most reliable SSD, especially the M.2. Their Magician cloning program makes it a slam dunk to migrate from old drives, and the cache on this 1TB makes it blazing fast.
