Had the Gen 3 SSD as a spare, but with new MOBO, it made sense to purchase it. Can tell a difference.

This is needed because the designers at Sony Goofed up. The compartment that this drive resides, has very little room for a full sized heat sink; and would not be necessary if the designers placed its mounting so completely isolated from the CPU cooling path. Other than that? It functions for it's intended purpose.

When I first installed it I got a warning that it wasn’t fast enough for PS5 games. I put the drive in a PC and updated the firmware. It then worked as expected in my PS5.
